- 2. Conditional sentences Types 1 Conditional sentences refers to what the speaker presents as possible /hypothetical situation and their possible/hypothetical consequences/outcomes.

- 4. Form The simple form they consist of a main clause (consequent clause , matrix clause) and a IF- clause( conditional clause, antecedent clause). The most common introduction to a IF-clause is, as the name suggests, the word IF- clause and will /can / may + infinitive in the result clause.
- 5. examples: ● If clause If+ S+simple present verb If I am hungry, ● main clause S+will/will /can / may + infinitive . I will get something to eat. The structure is usually: if/when + present simple >> will + infinitive. It is also common to use this structure with unless, as long as, as soon as or in case instead of if.
