This document discusses consonant sounds and place of articulation. It will teach the reader to identify speech organs that produce consonants, distinguish consonant sounds based on place of articulation, and describe consonants based on place of articulation. It discusses the different places of articulation including bilabial, labiodental, interdental, alveolar, palato-alveolar, palatal, velar, and glottal. Examples are provided for consonant sounds that correspond to each place of articulation. An assignment is given to write the place of articulation for given consonant sounds and find examples of consonants in initial, middle, and final positions in words.
