Constructivism and Social Constructivism Learning:  active process  of constructing knowledge    Knowledge:  socially constructed  based on      (a) learner's  prior knowledge and/or beliefs        (b)  cultural and social context  of learning   Instructional strategies:      discovery learning  and collaborative learning What? Application to instructional media design: individual learning tools:             personal discovery, experiments, individual activities, opportunities to explore one's environment (appeal to various senses)   collaborative tools:             interactive, collaborative, dialogical/social interaction, opportunities to discuss what is being studied (varying audience sizes) How?
