With the page numbers it also has a pull quote or a brief description of what is in the article. Q magazine tend to use the same three colours throughout their magazine. These colours are red, white and black. This contents page has gone exactly with this and there are no other colours present on the contents other than in the pictures. However, as this is a Oasis special they have written Oasis in gold. This is different for Q to do as they normally stick to their three colours. Only two pictures have been used on this contents page. These pictures have been taken very well and have been carefully planned. This image has been taken on a background like this to show that they are the main focus. On the main image it has a pull quote from this article which is bigger than the rest to show that this is the main article. Q’s brand is shown throughout this contents. The colours which they mainly use are on here as well as their logo. The main image of Q appears twice on this contents page. They have been put on here to remind the reader of the magazine.
- 2. The main image of this contents page has been planned out very well and is a very good image. The background of the Image is very good and the empty space has been used well. This simple and calm image suggests that this magazine is aimed at older people. Not only is there a main focal point of the picture but it gives a feel that the magazine is solely about him. He is stood like he is a authority figure and that mixed with that he is wearing glasses makes the reader feel like he has authority. The colours which have been used on this content page are again the red/white and black mix. This has been done because colours work very well with each other and stand out clearly. The fonts which have been used is a font which is fairly simple so that it is easy to understand. The page numbers on this magazine are very small so it is difficult to read. However they are in white so they stand out clearly against the dark background. The column width and position for this contents page have been done very well because the text goes around the subject. They are also very evenly spaced out and inline with each other. This makes the column widths good. The title of this magazine is big and in the centre of this contents page. It is also very dark and bold so it stands out more. It is also reminding the reader what magazine this is.
- 3. This contents page from XXL magazine has only one main image on it which is the image of eminem. In this picture it looks as if he is looking directly at the reader which can give the impression that this article is one to one. The colours of clothing as well as the background are of the same colours. The page numbers on this contents page are very small so they are hard to notice. Although there is a date of when this issue was released it does not have an issue number. This may be a problem for those who are collecting magazines.
