We believe that all men are created equal, however, due to unfortunate circumstances, such as poverty and lack of education, not all men know how to strive for greatness. Would it not be a wonderful act of kindness to teach underprivileged children how to be as or even more successful then yourself? My wife and I are building a school exactly for this purpose. We believe that everyone deserves a chance, not just those who can afford a formal education. The main point of our school will be to teach children how to succeed in life. We believe in encouraging children to use their imaginations, showing them how to set, strive for and accomplish goals. We also believe in teaching how to take a temporary setback in life and use it as a positive motivating factor, instead of a reason to give up. We specialize in preparing children for a life of success. While general education facilities teach children social studies, geometry, etc., this does not prepare a person for the real world. The children will learn all the basics at their daily school (if they can afford to attend one), we will take them to a new level, by offering them free classes after their public or private school is over for the day. Our goal is to help prepare children for the real life. We specialize in English, Spanish, and teaching your child how to succeed. We teach our students how to make goals, how to plan to accomplish these goals, and to have faith in themselves, so they can accomplish their goals. As we get more qualified teacher volunteering, we hope to be able to offer more topics, including Math and Science, and we also hope to be able to have longer hours, so children who can not afford to attend public or private school, can attend our school during normal school hours. We do not want our facility to be an actual school. Why you may ask? Because we do not want to have to abide by all the government regulations of what books we need to teach from and what lessons have to be taught. We want children to learn how to succeed in life! We will teach children the importance of physical fitness, but we do not want to have to waste an hour everyday giving them recess or gym class. We do not want to tell the children they have the day off, because we are required to have a teacher workshop. This does not help children succeed. Before I go on, let me tell you a very brief background about myself and my wonderful wife: I have over 18 years in the Security and IT Industries, 12 years of experience as a Project Manager in those fields, and 5 years of teaching experience at West Virginia University. I have a wonderful life, and feel it is my calling to help the younger generations, become as or even more successful then myself. My wife is a native Mexican, and has been a teacher in both Mexico and The United States. She has been a teacher ever since since she graduated from college in Monterrey Mexico, as she has always known that helping children succeed was her calling. She currently is a Spanish and History teacher for a private school, and loves working with and helping children strive to be their best. What We Need: This is a start up project, so we pretty much need everything. With the help of several friends in the area, I have located the most inexpensive land on the main highway. We have found 2 lots side by side which will give us plenty of room to build. These two lots together are for sale for $544,500 USD. You may be asking why we are looking for land on the major highway? We have found land directly on the highway, because that is where the public transportation runs. Please keep in mind that most of these children's families do not have cars. While we believe in educating anyone that has the desire to learn, we especially want to educate the children that do not have any resources. So by buiding the facility on the main highway, right next to a bus stop, these children will have more opportunity to attend. After contacting several builders in the area, we have determined that the construction will cost $445,000 USD. We want to make sure that this facility is built extremely well (all concrete). There tend to be quite a few hurricanes in this area, and we want this facility to not only withstand a hurricane, but also be a safe place for people to go, when a hurricane is due to hit the area. This construction is also going to consist of a couple of store fronts, for other people to rent out for use of their own businesses. Why would we do this? We are doing this for a couple of reasons:
- 3. 1. My wife and I are not charging for classes. We are donating our time, education, and life to help these children become more successful. The rent earned by renting out these couple store fronts, will help us pay for the electric, water, school supplies, equipment, taxes, etc.. 2. The more patrons that come to the store fronts, the more word of mouth advertisement the school will receive, which means the more students we will have attending. Lastly, the rest of the money will be used to pave the parking lot, and pay the fee to Indiegogo. What happens if we are unable to raise all the monies needed for this school? My wife and I are determined to complete this school, so any monies raised will go to buying the land, then to building the school. If we don't have enough to pave the parking lot, then at least the children will still have an easy accessible, comfortable school to come to. The Impact Native Language Services consists of a husband and wife team that are trying to make a difference. I am a native to the United States, and my wife is native to Mexico. After meeting in Mexico, and deciding that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together, my wife had to apply for her fiance visa in order to move to the United States to be with me. The immigration process to come to the United States is ridiculous. It took almost 4 years and $10,000 for my wife to be considered a legal alien. How can the US government or anyone else expect the poor people of Mexico or any other country, to be able to afford this process? This is the reason the US has so many illegal immigrants. The US government has made it almost impossible for people to immigrate into the USA. My wife and I know this process extremely well, and realize that this is not a possibility for the majority of people who are trying to find work and feed their families. Now mind you, we do not think it is correct for people to go to the US or any other country illegally either. So how do we fix this solution? Obviously we do not have any say in the way the government decides to handle these situations, so we have decided to educate the children of Mexico. We are here to help, and that is why we do not charge. We work completely off of donations. As many people may or may not know, children in Mexico do not have to attend school. As a matter of fact, many children do not go to school, because their parents can not afford school uniforms and school supplies. This is why we have come to help. We do not want children to grow up and feel that they have to be poor, because they were born poor. Throughout a childs life, they are constantly being told what they can not do, but schools nor most people ever take the time to show them what they can accomplish in life. Using the principals of people like Andrew Carnegie, Thomas Edison, and in fact almost every wealthy person in the world, we will help these children accomplish things they never dreamed possible. If a child understands and believes that he/she can do something with their life, then there is a much greater probability that they will not migrate illegally to another country to work on a farm. Don't get me wrong, there is absolutely nothing wrong with working on a farm, as a matter of fact I grew up on
- 4. a farm. But what is wrong, is that these workers, will never be able to lead normal lives. They cannot legally drive a vehicle, or have insurance, or do most of the things that you and I take for granted. We want to teach the children of today how to succeed in life, so they don't have to sacrifice their life trying to cross a border illegally or having to leave their families behind. Many people do not understand what these people go through in life, and therefore don't understand why they want to leave their country and their family. First let me assure you that the people that are illegally migrating to other countries do not want to go, but they do it because they are poor. When I tell you that they are poor, many other people might say well I live in the US, and I am poor. We in the US do not even have a concept of what poor is. We don't know what it is like to work 40 to 60 hours a week for $20. We don't know what it is like to go to bed without eating. Actually most people in the US that think they are poor, receive food stamps, welfare, free cell phone, have televisions, a vehicle and a comfortable place to live. That is NOT poor. When you take the time to travel through Mexico and most other Latin American counties, and you see people living in a 10x10 block building with a tin roof, no electricity and dirt floors, then you truly start to understand what it is to be poor. Our goal is to help the children of these families, so they can have a better life then they ever imagined. We don't want to see these children grow up and be forced to leave their country and families, because they can't afford to feed themselves. There is so much opportunity in this world, and anyone can achieve their goals, the problem is that most people do not ever set goals in their life. People in general become complaisant. We go to work, come home, watch TV, go to sleep, and do it all over again the next day. However, if people are taught how to break this complacency and how to believe in themselves, their lives can change forever.
