Two-Way Dual Language Program
It is a biliteracy program where two student populations learn
a second language through content instruction while
maintaining their dominant language.

One-Way Dual Language Program
It is a biliteracy program that serves identified English Learners
with academic instruction in English and Spanish.
Secondary Dual Language Program
It is a biliteracy pathway with instruction in both English and
Spanish that gives students the opportunity to graduate with the
Seal of Biliteracy.
Student Eligibility

● Identified English Learners (ELs) follow LPAC
documentation process from Kindergarten - 9th
grade
● Parent request for identified Non-EL students in
Kindergarten - 1st grade
○ Parents make commitment to program from
Kindergarten through 5th grade and sign opt-in
letter
○ No eligibility testing
● Non-ELs with previous Dual Language Education
may enroll in 2nd thru 9th grade
*PK- Must meet state PK guidelines for eligibility (LEP status, homeless, free/reduced lunch,
parent a member of Armed Forces, currently/formerly in foster care system); parents commit
to program through 5th grade

Vision: Deliver high-quality Dual Language program implementation for all
students to reach bilingualism and biliteracy, high academic achievement in
Spanish and English, and sociocultural competence.
Philosophy: Our Dual Language program provides a biliterate and culturally
responsive learning environment that utilizes authentic, engaging, and
challenging instruction. Thinking, writing, reading, listening, and speaking in
both languages, will prepare our students to become global leaders in diverse
settings. Well-informed administrators, educators, parents, students, and
community will promote and advocate for exemplary Dual Language
implementation.
