         Solvatten helps reduce climate change

         From 2013 it is possible to compensate for carbon dioxide emissions via
         a unique Solvatten project in Uganda. Climate compensation* through
         this monitoring project will help families to lift themselves out of poverty
         through the use of Solvatten.

         *Solvatten saves c.1.2 ton CO2 per year, according to third-party study

       Prosales links corporate responsibility with sales competence

       A challenge for all social innovations is finding the quickest route to financial sustainability. In the developing
       world one way to facilitate sales is by combining subsidies with micro-savings. The Swedish company
       Prosales was attracted by this solution and identified an opportunity to link their core activity - developing
       sales competence - with a Solvatten project which provides education and supports savings groups. 

       This project enabled representatives from the Kenyan organization KOWLF to market and sell Solvatten
       through solidarity savings groups in Mwingi and Mombasa in Kenya. A Prosales representative met with the
       Kenyan sales team to exchange ideas on how to sell new groundbreaking technology.
        
       Thanks to Prosales, Solvatten now reaches hundreds of families in Kenya!

             Running to solve water challenges

             Since 2010 WSP has contributed to various Solvatten projects and
             has raised funds to send Solvatten units to Kenya. Staff at WSP
             Sweden, a branch of the global WSP Group, have raised money
             through several activities including running and biking events.

             Thanks to WSP where staff continue to believe in empowering

             The NORES Collaboration

             In 2012 the Norwegian restaurant group Nores, began a collaboration with
             WWF for a Solvatten project to strengthen the sense of community among
             their members. The goal is to expand the initiative during the next two years,
             including a field trip to project sites.

             Thanks to NORES for improving livelihoods, health and environment for
             around 2 100 people.

            Engaging staff with Solvatten and Water for All

            Atlas Copco has selected eight communities worldwide to receive Solvatten in
            commemoration of the World Water Day 2012. The recipients were selected by
            Atlas Copco employees after evaluation of 35 proposals from all over the world.
            Atlas Copco companies support Water for All in accordance with the Group's
            Community Engagement and Charity Policy. The impact of the many projects is
            clearly visible and brings winners all around.

             Middagsfrid purchase enables CO2 reductions

             Approximately 5 000 people have benefited as they now have a tool to use sunlight
             to heat water and reduce their use of enviromentally-damaging fuels. And at the
             same time the project enabled Middagsfrid to compensate for their carbon emissions
             for a year. The collaboration between Solvatten AB, Tricorona and Middagsfrid
             demonstrated carbon offsetting in a way that significantly improves lives and the
             local environment – what better way to do this?

                    The campaign generated press coverage in daily newspapers and magazines


                    The Solvatten water bottle
                    Sweden’s most prestigious department store, NK (Nordiska Kompaniet) hosted
                    an event for Solvatten in 2011. Rum:117 brought together a bottle manufacture,
                    an NGO and Solvatten. For three months these specially-designed glass water
                    bottles were on sale in NK Stockholm and Gothenburg, with all the proceeds
                    funding Solvatten units for Vi Agroforestry, Bungoma. This promotion enabled
                    shoppers to support the scaling-up of Solvatten Projects in Kenya.

                    Walk with Solvatten
                    This campaign will be launched in spring 2013. The swedish company
                    Wellsteps will give customers tools to increase their exercise and at the
                    same time contribute to the sending of more Solvatten to the refugee
                    camps in Kenya.

                    Walking that extra mile will make a big difference and this campaign will
                    help you feel better in more then one way!

             Web campaigns to help vulnerable families in Kenya

             In 2012 Soo Lin made Solvatten the target for her very own birthday campaign. Turning
             twenty two is a big thing and Soo Lin built a website to fund-raise for Solvatten. In a
             short time she raised more than 1650 €. Happy birthday Soo Lin and thank you for
             bringing more Solvatten to the world!

             Hanna Bronfman from US and Cathrine Linder, Sweden have also marketed their
             brands in web-campaigns whose proceeds are financing the production and distribution
             of Solvatten.

             Web campaigning continues to grow. It’s easier than ever to contribute to a good cause.

           More web campaigns generating Solvatten

           The Swedish Telge Energy company launched their web campaign just before
           Christmas 2012, asking customers and visitors to their website to vote for the best
           charitable initiative. They received more than 3000 votes. Thanks to all the recognition
           we can now ship more Solvatten to where they do most good, in the hands of families
           without access to safe water.

           Web campaigning continues to grow. It’s easier than ever to contribute to a good cause.

             A UN Habitat collaboration for women in Nepal                            ✓

             In 2009 Solvatten units were distributed in Nepal for an implementation study in
             conjunction with UN-Habitat and ENPHO. The units were distributed to households,
             schools and community health centres and the users were trained by community
             mobilisers. Interviews with users were conducted for research and to increase
             understanding for future distribution of Solvatten in developing countries.

The goal is to expand the initiative during the next two years, including a field trip to project sites. The recipients were selected by Atlas Copco employees after evaluation of 35 proposals from all over the world. Atlas Copco companies support Water for All in accordance with the Group's Community Engagement and Charity Policy. The impact of the many projects is clearly visible and brings winners all around. And at the same time the project enabled Middagsfrid to compensate for their carbon emissions for a year. The collaboration between Solvatten AB, Tricorona and Middagsfrid demonstrated carbon offsetting in a way that significantly improves lives and the local environment – what better way to do this? Rum:117 brought together a bottle manufacture, an NGO and Solvatten. For three months these specially-designed glass water bottles were on sale in NK Stockholm and Gothenburg, with all the proceeds funding Solvatten units for Vi Agroforestry, Bungoma.   • 14. Giving is caring Web campaigns to help vulnerable families in Kenya In 2012 Soo Lin made Solvatten the target for her very own birthday campaign. Turning twenty two is a big thing and Soo Lin built a website to fund-raise for Solvatten. In a short time she raised more than 1650 €. Happy birthday Soo Lin and thank you for bringing more Solvatten to the world! Hanna Bronfman from US and Cathrine Linder, Sweden have also marketed their brands in web-campaigns whose proceeds are financing the production and distribution of Solvatten. Giving is caring More web campaigns generating Solvatten The Swedish Telge Energy company launched their web campaign just before Christmas 2012, asking customers and visitors to their website to vote for the best charitable initiative. They received more than 3000 votes. Thanks to all the recognition we can now ship more Solvatten to where they do most good, in the hands of families without access to safe water. The units were distributed to households, schools and community health centres and the users were trained by community mobilisers. Interviews with users were conducted for research and to increase understanding for future distribution of Solvatten in developing countries.
