This document provides an orientation for registry partners participating in the Credential Transparency Initiative (CTI) project. CTI aims to develop a web-based credential registry and directory to provide transparent, comparable information about credentials from all types of credentialing organizations. The registry will use a common language (Credential Transparency Description Language) to describe key features of credentials and credentialing organizations. Partners will provide credential/quality assurance information to the registry using standardized formats. The registry will aggregate this information to facilitate search and comparison by stakeholders. Partners receive services including converting their data, publishing to the registry, early access to applications, and guidance on adopting open data standards to realize the long-term vision of a linked credentialing ecosystem.
