The Computer Society of Macedonia was formed in 2000 by professors at the University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Skopje to promote informatics and information technology in Macedonia through activities like organizing competitions in informatics for students. The Society's members include computer science teachers, IT professionals, and university lecturers, and its main goals are to introduce, popularize, and encourage the use of informatics in education and across Macedonian society. It continues the work previously done by the former Mathematical and Computer Society of Macedonia.
