The U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) recently discovered a cybersecurity incident that may have compromised the personal information of over 4 million current and former federal employees, including DoD personnel. OPM began notifying affected individuals and automatically enrolled them in identity theft insurance. However, DoD suspended the email notifications due to security concerns and is working with partners to establish a more secure notification process.
