Cybera's mission is to spur innovation in Alberta through the use of cyberinfrastructure. As Canada cannot compete on size with super-economies, innovation and collaboration are key focuses. Cybera focuses on networking, web 2.0 and collaboration technologies, and high performance computing. It plans to establish cyberports across Alberta and collaboration portals to connect researchers. Very big data convergence across oil and gas, brain research, finance, genomics, medicine and more will be enabled through Cybera's network and commercial and pilot cloud computing services.
