OTTE What does OTTE stand for?
OTTE What does OTTE stand for? Office of Training & Tertiary Education
OTTE The role of OTTE is to plan, regulate and deliver a range of education and training programs and services in Victoria
OTTE The organisation is part of the Victorian Department of Innovation, Industry and Regional Development
OTTE is responsible for
OTTE is responsible for The provision of strategic leadership and support for the development of the higher education and vocational education (VET) systems in Victoria
OTTE is also responsible for
OTTE is also responsible for Planning, purchasing and monitoring the services offered by TAFE Institutions
OTTE is also responsible for Planning, purchasing and monitoring the services offered by TAFE Institutions Managing legislative and governance responsibilities relating to VET and higher education
OTTE plans, regulates and delivers a range of education and training programs and services in Victoria through:
OTTE plans, regulates and delivers a range of education and training programs and services in Victoria through: 19 publicly owned TAFE Institutions, including 4 universities with TAFE divisions
OTTE plans, regulates and delivers a range of education and training programs and services in Victoria through: More than 1200 VET providers, of which about 400 are State Government funded and over 800 are privately funded
OTTE plans, regulates and delivers a range of education and training programs and services in Victoria through: Victorian business and industries, which support more than 112,000 people in training
The network is regulated by the four OTTE Divisions and by the  Victorian Skills Commission (VSC)

The Victorian Government has set five major goals aimed at positioning Victoria as a high value, high wage,  high job growth state.
The Victorian Government has set five major goals aimed at positioning Victoria as a high value, high wage,  high job growth state. Four of the five goals relate to post compulsory education and training.
Goals To increase the percentage of young people who successfully complete Year 12 or the equivalent
Goals To increase the percentage of young people who successfully complete Year 12 or the equivalent To increase adults participation in education and training and hence the overall level of education attainment and literacy levels in Victoria

And To increase the level of participation and achievement in education and training in rural and regional Victoria, and among groups where it is presently low

These four goals are critical to Victoria keeping pace with the rest of the world.
These four goals are critical to Victoria keeping pace with the rest of the world. As knowledge and information become the drivers of global economic growth, Victoria will not share in that growth without an educated and skilled workforce.
Further, the Victorian Government has set the following critical benchmark target for education and training in Victoria
Further, the Victorian Government has set the following critical benchmark target for education and training in Victoria By 2010, 90 per cent of young people in Victoria will complete Year 12 or its equivalent
It is OTTE’s role to work across government to undertake initiatives which support and contribute to the achievement of these goals and benchmarks
OTTE is the Victorian State Training Authority (STA) STA’s are responsible for the implementation of training package qualifications and for registering RTO’s
