- 3. Research Databases What They Are: What They Aren’t: • Specific to a subject • Free • By experts or journalists • Searchable in Google or • Designed for students other search engine • Magazines, newspapers, book articles, radio & TV broadcasts
- 4. Check out • Advanced search options, tabs, or search within results • Email to self & print- friendly options • Citations provided for copy & paste Advanced Searching Diagram • Be specific (the less from ithacalibrary.com words the better) • Each one is a little different
- 5. Database Searching vs. Google Searching Databases need specific keywords to conduct a good search. You may also have to think of “like” words if you fail the first time. Take a question like:
