DCMS Library How to Access eBooks
- 1. Start with your desktop, yup, this one is mine. Here is what you are looking for. Destiny is our school library card catalog
- 2. This is what you will get Select Dodge City Middle School
- 3. You can search our collection from this screen, but I want to point out a new addition We now have an ebook collection
- 4. We have 695 titles in our collection so far
- 5. Now you need to login
- 6. You will use the username and login that you use in Connect class.
- 7. Your name will appear in the upper right corner and you now have check out buttons.
- 8. Unlimited copies means we have a building license for the title Other titles will tell you how many are available.
- 9. •To check out a book, simply select the check out button •Check out time is two weeks •After it is checked out, open the book.
- 10. Use the arrows to advance or go back in the book. Select 2 page layout Click anywhere in the center to get rid of the tool bars and click again to get them back
- 11. To return to the main menu, use the Follett logo in the upper left. Your books are stored in your bookbag.
- 12. •To return the book early use the return button under the book. •It will ask if you are sure….you are. •The title is returned.
- 13. That is the process you will be using to access the ebooks from the desktop computers. To access the ebooks from iPads you will have to download the app Destiny Quest from the app store. It is a free app. You will be looking for a logo that looks like this.
- 14. open the Destiny Quest app This URL address must be completed next Select Dodge City Middle School Login is the district login…whatever starts a PC in connect class Process only needs to be done once unless you log out. Then connect
- 15. •Top ten shows the books that are checked out regularly. •New arrivals shows you what has been added lately •Public lists are recommended reading lists from teachers. To access the ebook collection, select FollettShelf This is the screen you will see.
- 16. And here you are at the school site with our collection of ebooks.
- 17. Check out process is the same
- 18. Ebooks can be checked out for two weeks and then they disappear from the students bookbag. So they need to get the book read in that time. They can return a book early if they are finished and check out another.
