My Christmas holiday 12th January
At Christmas holiday i go to my grandmothers’ house.
When i came, i heelp my mother do the cakes to
Christmas.

I eat so many cakes, then i was full.
My presents were grait.
I go to the beach, i watch T.V. and go to cinema with my
friends.
The new year was grait!
I eat again cakes and again i was full.

You like cakes I think! Are there special cakes

you eat at Christmas in Portugal?
I’m glad you got some great presents.
             What did you get?
Dealing with different learning speeds

►Fast finishers.
♫ Encourage fast finishers to check their work.

 ♫ Helping other students.
                      co-operation
     ‫ ٭‬Reading comprehension.
     ‫ ٭‬Grammar exercises
     ‫ ٭‬Writing
     ‫ ٭‬Homework
Some problems mixed-ability classes
present for the teacher

Half the students finished
other half have just begun.

The stronger students get
bored if I spend time explaining
to the weaker ones.

We’ve got a syllabus to get
through but most of the students
 are already behind.
The stronger students dominate.

The weaker students sit at the back and start
 disrupting the lesson.

The weaker students
don’t even try.

The weaker students are
always asking me things in
their own language and want
everything explained in it.
