This thesis explores the relationship between ideal body size, body dissatisfaction, and age among young children, identifying key factors that influence body image disturbances. The study highlights the prevalence of body dissatisfaction starting at a young age and proposes that interventions should focus on primary prevention in elementary school settings. The findings also indicate that age plays a role in the acceptance of a thin ideal body size, which could contribute to body dissatisfaction and maladaptive eating behaviors.
