Hazards refer to anything that can potentially cause damage to people, animals, or property. There are three main types of hazards: natural hazards caused by environmental forces, quasi-natural hazards resulting from natural processes combined with human intervention, and technological hazards arising from industrial accidents or equipment failures. Hazards can have effects like injury, death, property damage, social disruption, economic disruption, or environmental degradation. Hazards are also classified into categories like geologic, hydrologic, atmospheric, biologic, and man-made.
