A pycnometer is a glass device used to measure the density of fluids. It consists of a closed chamber to maintain temperature, holes, and a measuring tube to determine the volume of fluid. Pycnometers come in different sizes from 10 to 50 ml and are fragile but hard glass containers in the shape of a perfume bottle for measuring density.
