Research indicates that in traditional
public schools the subjective well-being of
students and parents varies by gender,
race, and special education status. Prior
studies suggest that general education
students, that female students have
greater satisfactions with their schooling
than male students.

Parent Satisfaction
Friedman, Bobrowski and Geraci (2006)
stated that SAFETY is the most significant
predictor of parent satisfaction. Parent
experiences with their child’s school
influence their satisfaction. Parents
satisfaction with services is associated
with parent involvement in school
activities which turn, is associated with


Satisfaction
Parents generally satisfied with services
received by their child with Autism
Spectrum Disorder ( ASD ), despite
complaints regarding diagnostic services,
particularly age of diagnosis, which
delayed services being sought and
obtained.
Parents of children with ASD were
uniformly more dissatisfied with services,
programs and teachers than parents of
children with other disabilities. The
young children with ASD appear to spend
more time in special education setting
than children with other disabilities.

Hypotheses
 Girls would have higher school
satisfaction than boys.
 African American students would have
higher school satisfaction than
Caucasian students.
 Latino students would have higher
school satisfaction than Caucasian
students
 General Education students would
have higher school satisfaction than
special education students.
For Parents:
 Parents of girls would have higher
school satisfaction than parents of
boys.
 Parents of African American
students would have higher school
satisfaction than parents of
Caucasian students.
 Parents of Latino students would
have higher school satisfaction than
parents of Caucasian students.
 Parents of General Education
students would have higher school
satisfaction than parent of special
education students.
