Taylor Swift - Red
Taylor Swift’s name is smaller than the name of the album which suggests that she wants
people to focus more on her music rather than her. However, even though her album name is
bigger, her name on the album is quite big which shows that she still wants people to know
that it is her album. When Taylor Swift’s album came out, she was in the new quite a lot
because of her relationship with Harry Styles and how they had broken up which shows that
more people know her now and that by making her name big on the album will get more
people to buy it. The fact that she has used the colour re is very cleaver as the majority of her
songs are about love and red connotes romance, love, passion and danger which suggests
that her album RED may be about love as well. She has use the colour red throughout her
entire album as on the front of the album, she is wearing red lipstick then when you open the
album she is seen wearing a red skirt. Taylor’s target audience is most teen girls and young
adults and you can also see this from the pictures that have been used in the digi-pack. She is
seen wearing a t-shirt with a red maxi skirt and she is not dressed provocatively and if her
album was aimed at teen boys or men then she would be wearing very revealing clothes just
like Rhianna does in her UNAPOLIGETIC digi-pack. Finally, you can tell that Taylor Swift’s music
will ge pop as she is seen playing the guitar in the one of the pictures from the digi-pack and
people buying the album would know this because if it was a rock album then there would
lots of dark colours used or a R&B then there would be lots of jewellery and the artist would
be wearing designer clothes. But you can tell that from Taylor Swift’s digi-pack, that her genre
of music is pop as lots of bright colours are used.
Rhianna - Loud
Rhianna is an R&B American solo artist. Her digi pack consists of very
bright colours such as pink and red which makes the album look fun
and colourful. The red and the pink go very well together as red
represent passion whereas pink represents femininity. All over the digi
pack is just pictures of Rhianna which shows that she is a well-known
artist and in all of the pictures, she is not looking straight at the camera
which shows that she doesn't have to look straight at camera to grab
the audience's attention. The back of Rhianna's album cover is pink
which shows her feminine side. At the front of the digi pack, her name
is written in a small font which shows that she shows that she is well
known and she doesn't need to have her name in big letter in order for
people to buy her album. The audience can also straight away tell

that it is Rhianna on the album as she is known for her quirky
hairstyles which shows that she is different to other artists and
more unique.
Mumford and Sons – Sigh No More
Mumford and Sons are an English folk rock band. The band consists of
Marcus Mumford, Ben Lovett, Winston Marshall and Ted Dwane.
They are following the conventions of indie music albums because
indie artists want people to focus on their songs rather then what they
look like and that is what Mumford and Sons have done as on the front
of the of the digipack, you can see the band. But because a long shot
have been used, you can only see them a little. The name of their band
is bigger than the album name and this is because they aren’t as
popular as artists like Jay-Z who don’t even have to put their name on
the album cover. The colours that has been used on the album is very
neutral and simple which shows that their music genre isn’t pop or
R&B because if their genre was pop then there would be lots of bright
colours and band/artist face will be used with them smiling..
