- 3. BIRMINGHAM ZOO • Located in Birmingham, AL • Once known as The Jimmy Morgan Zoo, opened in 1955 • In 1946 Elton B. Stephens chaired a Jaycee committee to create a zoo. • Today, The Birmingham Zoo is blazing new trails in the history of elephant conservation

FLEURTY GIRL • Located in New Orleans, LA • Lauren Thom opened her first retail store on historic Oak Street and moved her and her family in the back of the old shotgun house. • Now there’s four Fleurty Girl retail stores. • All items that Fleurty Girl carries are inspired by New Orleans and most of the items are made by local New Orleanians.

LOUIS CATHEDRAL • Located in New Orleans, LA • The Cathedral is said to be haunted • Located in the French Quarter • The first church on the site was built in 1718; the third was built in 1789, was raised to cathedral rank in 1793. It expanded and largely rebuilt in 1850, with little of the 1789 structure remaining.
