Thobela, a librarian at Kwadukuza, aims to document and share the oral knowledge of community elders while encouraging youth engagement with their culture through a digital memory project. The project seeks to promote digital literacy and gather community knowledge while requiring seed funding and an understanding of copyright for knowledge sharing. A toolkit developed by Niall and Grant McNulty, supported by the Goethe-Institut, offers resources and templates for initiating such projects using open-source technology.
