whilst holding alt, until new cursor appears, then whilst
holding alt click the left mouse
• 7. Then click on the blank layer and use a brush to reveal the
image with the brush effect
Levels
• Image, Adjustments and levels (window opens)
• This will allow you to adjust the brightness and the contrast of
the image, which means you can make dark areas darker and
lighter areas lighter
The text tool in photoshop
• The text tool in photoshop allows you to add text to your
image and allows you to increase the size, change the font,
edit the format (e.g Bold, or Italic)
• Once you have added text in photo shop you can also change
the colour, add effects like a stroke or drop shadow for
example. If you do not want a solid color for your text, you can
also add a gradient to add a fade gradient for example.
• You can also change the blend mode of the text in photoshop
to multiply or overlay for example, this is done by clicking the
drop down menu in photoshop above the layers
• The text tool looks like this
Typography (fonts)
• Photoshop uses many fonts, aswell as most other programs,
but there are 4 main font types that are used
• These different fonts are used depending on the context of
the piece of work that you are doing, for example script would
be used when typing up a formal letter or to add a signature
No flicks or kicks at end of letters
Flicks or kicks at end of letters
Hand written style font
More of a playful font
Font Families
• Different fonts can have ‘families’, which means that there are
different types of that font, e.g Bold, Italic, Regular.
• There are a lot of fonts in photoshop that have font families,
for example Myriad
Tracking and Kerning
• Tracking adjusts the spacing between all of the letters on line
• Kerning Adjusts gaps between individual letters
This is the box where
You adjust the tracking
This is the box where
You adjust the kerning
Leading
• Leading is the spacing between the different lines of text
This is the box where
You adjust the Leading
Typography Hierarchy
• Hierarchy is the order in which the audience see the words,
this can be varied by the size of the text, the color, the font or
the style for example
Larger text for the more
Significant words so that
They stand out
Different colored text
so the words are
different to the rest
Formal font to represent
the texts importance
Paint Area Without Going Over
Edges
• Use this Select Tool to select an area to paint without
going over an edge for example
• 1. Select the area you want to color
• 2. Click on the brush tool
• 3. Select the color you want to use
• 4. Then color the area
• You will notice that the color will not overlap the areas that
you didn’t select, this is how you use the select tool effectively
when coloring an area
Gradients
• Gradients are used in photoshop to add a mix of colors in a
fixed pattern instead of using a standard solid color
• You can also edit the set gradients to maker them unique to
you, this is done by changing the colors and patterns
Jacqueline Casey

Images
History
• She was born in Quincy, Massachusetts in 1927
• Graduated in 1949 at Massachusetts College of Art whilst studying bachelor of fine arts and
illustration
• After graduating she got several jobs, one being in interior design and advertising
• Casey’s work was mounted in an exhibition at The MIT Museum in 1992 and again in 2012
• Casey lectured many classes in schools, museums, colleges and universities
• Examples of her work have been permanently placed at the Museum of Modern Art in New
York City and also in the Library of Congress
• She is well known in the graphics industry with her work being displayed in many graphic
design magazines, annuals and in books on history of graphics design
• Casey died in 1991 whilst trying to fight Cancer
• She was very well known and appreciated for her word play in her graphicly designed
images
• One of Casey’s main aspects of her work is the way she contrasts large bold text with
smaller text in the images
• Casey was interested in art from an early age, at the age of 22 she was rewarded with a
certificate of fashion design and illustration
• During Casey’s career she received a BFA from The Mass College Of Art
• In 1972 Casey started designing posters for university events and exhibitions
• Casey is widely known as ‘a women in a mans world’
• Casey’s work is described by others as a ‘essence’ of each subject in human form
Add filter / adjust filter
• This will allow you to change your image in specific ways, for
example turn your image into something that is made out of lines or
dots
• You can also change the contrast and the boldness of the lines or
dots
• My example here is using the halftone pattern filter, I can use either
line, dot or circle filter
Changing my illustration
• My illustration has gone from being plain hand drawn to a
unique graphicly designed image.
• I have done this by using all different types of skills in
photoshop, for example the eye dropper tool, the different
filters available and the quick selection tool
Propaganda illustration
• I have styled my illustration into a propaganda themed
illustration, the text still needs work doing, but to do this I
have used filters, gradients and layer styles.
• The propaganda color scheme is black and red so I have tried
to stick to that scheme in this image
Comparing my illustrations
• I prefer my Evan Hecox style illustration because of the strong
bold colors used, but on the other hand the propaganda style
is very effective due to the filter I have used, which makes it
look very strong and hand drawn
Creative Logos
Liam Heeley
Giuseppe Zanotti
• This logo is very creative because it is using the designers
signature, which therefore allows the company logo / brand
to be unique to the designer
• This is effective because there is not many brands that use
this, so therefore this further makes the company stand out
because of the significant difference in the companies logo
idea
• This is effective towards me and the audience because we
know each time we see this signature it is representing the
Giuseppe Zanotti brand
Design fresh
• This logo is very creative because it is using one image to symbolize
several different meanings, so therefore the logo is ambiguous, which
is a very effective technique used in the graphics industry
• This is effective because it is showing the pencil to represent that the
company comes up with new ideas for the graphics world. Then as you
can see the pencil has bubbles coming out from the top as though it is
something linked to physics or chemicals, this therefore means that
something new is being created, which also links to the text because
the world 'fresh' means something new and unique.
• This is effective towards me and the audience because it is an eye
catching logo, which makes me stop to try work out what the
ambiguous meaning is. I know this image is effective because when I
was searching for logos to use on google, this is one of the only ones
that caught my eye on the first page
Chanel
• This logo is very creative because it is using the brand name to create
a logo using its initials, as 'Chanel' is originally known as 'Coco
Chanel', so therefore the back to back 'C's are being used effectively
to create a memorable logo
• This is effective because it allows the audience to remember the logo
as it is unique to the brand, this also keeps the history of the brand by
keeping the original name 'coco chanel' included in the updated logo.
The boldness of the logo is also very effective because it symbolizes
its importance in the fashion world
• This is effective towards me and the audience because it is a very well
known logo in the fashion world due to the brand being so well
advertised and managed, this is also symbolized in the logo as the
logo is represented as very luxurious, shown in the creativity of the
two 'C's
Positive and negative images
• This effect is used to create one image, but also inside that
image there is another hidden on, for example the apple logo
uses this effectively and so does FedEx
• As you can see this technique is used to add ambiguity to
images. The FedEx logo has a hidden arrow to show that there
is movement in the company, this links to the company
because the company is a delivery company
Formal Elements Of
Art
Liam Heeley
Point (dots, individual marks)
• The point element is used to create images using random
marks or dots
• This is widely used in the tattoo industry to create complicated
or specific tattoos
• These points are also used to emphasize key ideas and to
attract the audiences attention
Line (straight, zig-zag, wavy)
• This ‘line’ is the path left by a moving object or element, for
example a brush or pencil
• This element can be used to represent emotions, movements
and contours
• Lines are created manually, or randomly when two edges
meet and form a connected line
Shape (2D)
• Shapes will help create complex drawings and paintings in the art
industry
• They are created by two edges or lines enclosing together to form a
random ‘image’ which can be called a shape
• We have well known shapes such as a ‘square’ or ‘circle’, but you can
also create a random shape by starting at one point and ending up
connecting back to that point
• These 2D shapes have one length and one width which is what
makes the shape 2D
Shape (3D)
• 3D shapes have depth as well as width and height
• 3D designs are about creating forms such as a cube or cone
• These shapes can be visualized, seen in real life or designed on
a computer program
Color (primary, vibrant, etc)
• Color has three main aspects, hue, value and intensity
• Color is generally used to create an emotion, for example dark
colors using depict dullness or negativity
• Specific colors are also used to create moods or describe the
mood, for example red is usually anger and white is purity
Tone (shading, light, dark)
• Tones are created by the way light falls on a 3D object, so it
could either be a light tone or a dark tone
• The lighter areas are called highlights, which highlights a
certain area
• The darker areas are called shadows which represent the way
light is shining down on an object creating a dark shadow of
the object
Pattern (repeating, stripes, etc)
• Pattern can be described as a repeating image or shape, that
will eventually create a unique image
• Patterns are used a lot in optical illusions, which confuse the
brain into trying to work out the illusion
• Patterns can be created by putting random images on top of
each other to create shapes that usually repeat
Texture (real or visual)
• Texture is the surface quality of the object that we see or
touch, for example ‘soft’, ‘hard’ or ‘sharp’
• To create texture color, pattern, tone and line is used images
so that the audience can visualize the texture
• Texture is commonly described as the feeling or the look of
the art work
Composition (layout, structure)
• In art or graphics composition is the placement of visual
elements or images on the screen
• This is used in books or magazines to layout images in certain
orders
• Art work is mainly created and designed by using Composition
to position certain images or shapes to create a final image
Shepard Fairey
Liam Heeley
Shepard Fairey Response 1
I changed this image by using several different techniques.
• Levels
• Gradient map
• Changing color mode
I like this style because it is very eye catching and looks very
effective even though it is easy to do, the colors also add a
creative effect to the image, making it more appealing
Shepard Fairey Response 2
I used different techniques to create this image.
• Desaturation
• Gaussian Blur
• Posterize
• Magic wand tool
• Eye dropper
• Polygonal lasso tool
I Like this version of the image because of the vibrant colors used, which fit
together really well and also the way the shapes have been used in the
background to add effect
Shepard Fairey Response 3
(my own example)
• I followed the steps for the Response 1 and I changed them
abit so my image is my own, I really like this image I created as
the artist I used is well known and the colors work well with
the image
Shepard Fairey Response 4
(my own example)
• I followed the steps for the Response 1 and I changed them abit so
my image is my own, I really like this image I created as the artist I
used is well known and the colors work well with the image, I also
added the date to this image to give it more of an advertising effect
Duplicate layers and add the
same angle / effect

Self Portrait
Shapes with the Pen tool
• 1. Select the pen tool
• 2. Start clicking on the document to add points and then when
you are finished connect the start and the end point together
to bring the shape together
• 3. Then select the stoke window to edit the thickness of the
outline In this tool you can select the thickness, color and
other features
• 4. If you are not happy with some of the points, click the white
arrow and then just click once on one of the points you
want to edit / change, then once it is selected move the point
and the shape will change according to the movement of the
point
Adding curves to lines
• The anchor point is where you can add curves to lines to make
the point go around round corners for example
• The tool looks like this the bottom tool
• You may already have anchor points if you are in the middle of
connecting up your points, if not follow these steps
• 1. Select the anchor point tool
• 2. Click on the point where you want to add a curve and put
the tool to use
• 3. select the points on the anchor point tool and move so that
you are happy with the curve that you have added
My work – Version 1
I have used several different techniques to create this image up to now, I
have used the pen tool to join points together, the anchor point tool to curve
lines so that the shape matches my face shape and the eye dropper tool to
match the shape color to my skin color.

GOOGLE
I really like
this CV because it
is not just another
boring old typed
out CV, it
represents the
persons skills in the
design of their CV.
This CV also uses
text and image,
which works well
because people
see the image first
and understand
what the image is
trying to say
without reading
the text. The colors
are mixed colors to
separate each part
of the page

This is a good
infographic because
the image of the
color wheel is very
central and is the
biggest image on the
page, this makes the
audience. This is also
an interactive like
image as the
audience can look at
the image and see
what color
represents them, so
aswell as informing it
is also has some
added fun to it. All of
the different colors
link to the advert
because it is the
color spectrum being
used for the page

I like this infographic
because it is
informing people
about a very serious
matter in the world
and is simplifying it
down so it is more
understandable. This
is very good because
it also allows young
people to
understand the
problem because it is
using smiley and sad
faces instead of
complicated text.
Each of the different
faces have different
colors to make it
clearer for the
audience to see
instead of having to
look at the small
images

This infographic was
much longer but I had
to crop it out, they info
shown is very helpful
and effective because it
has two versions of the
text, a simple one word
version then a
descriptive part for
people who want to
know abit more about
the outfit. The images
shown in the page also
add effect because it is
showing the visual
image instead of having
to create the image in
your head. The colors
are very flat on this
page which allows the
image of the guys stood
in different outfits to
stand out and for the
audience to focus on
them.

This infographic is
very effective
because it is on a
subject that is very
relevant to modern
day, this therefore
means it will attract
a lot of young
people from this
modern day. This
also uses images
instead of subtitles
to use mixed media
for the page. The
block colors are also
effective as they
create a formal side
of the page aswell
as the informative
side.

I like this infographic
because of the way it
teaches the audience
so much information
about the subject,
which is the 2012
Paralympics.
Although there is a
lot of text on the
page, the images also
allow the audience
to further
understand the page
and are in
replacement of sub
headings. There is a
set color scheme to
the infographic
which highlights
more important
information and also
enlargens the text
that is more
significant than the
other
http://www.digitalinformati

teen-infographic.html
I think this
infographic is very
effective because it is
linking to modern
day, which makes
teens aware of the
effects of social
media. This
infographic is very
plain as it only has
some text and large
images, this makes
the infographic
straight to the point.
The colors also work
well together
because it allows the
images to stand out
on the single color
background, it also
represents the way
the topic is a simple,
but effective topic
being displayed.

I like this infographic
because of the way it is
displaying information
from a type of social
media that is widely
used across the
graphics industry. The
infographic is very well
displayed and
positioned as each
piece of information is
very clear and each
piece is displayed
differently helping to
separate the
information. The colors
used on this infographic
are 24 bold, strong
colors that call stand
out and work well
together to again
separate the
information
This infographic appeals
to me because of the
way it is simplying a
topic that many people
have to use video for,
for example when
people upload day in
the life's onto YouTube.
The colors used on this
infographic are very
bright and vibrant
which represent the
type of information
being displayed. All of
the info is connected
through the yellow bar
running down the
middle of the page
which allows people to
work down the
information in the right
order and how the
artists wants them to
see it, abit like the Z
formation
This infographic is
effective because it is
using images and
text, so that it is
suitable for people
who prefer to read,
like middle aged
people for example
and then images for
the younger
generation. There is
a key at the bottom
of the page, which
further allows people
to understand the
information being
displayed. The color
blue represents the
sea as it is ‘sea’
based information
being displayed.

  • 6. The text tool in photoshop • The text tool in photoshop allows you to add text to your image and allows you to increase the size, change the font, edit the format (e.g Bold, or Italic) • Once you have added text in photo shop you can also change the colour, add effects like a stroke or drop shadow for example. If you do not want a solid color for your text, you can also add a gradient to add a fade gradient for example. • You can also change the blend mode of the text in photoshop to multiply or overlay for example, this is done by clicking the drop down menu in photoshop above the layers • The text tool looks like this
  • 7. Typography (fonts) • Photoshop uses many fonts, aswell as most other programs, but there are 4 main font types that are used • These different fonts are used depending on the context of the piece of work that you are doing, for example script would be used when typing up a formal letter or to add a signature No flicks or kicks at end of letters Flicks or kicks at end of letters Hand written style font More of a playful font
  • 8. Font Families • Different fonts can have ‘families’, which means that there are different types of that font, e.g Bold, Italic, Regular. • There are a lot of fonts in photoshop that have font families, for example Myriad

  • 10. Leading • Leading is the spacing between the different lines of text This is the box where You adjust the Leading
  • 11. Typography Hierarchy • Hierarchy is the order in which the audience see the words, this can be varied by the size of the text, the color, the font or the style for example Larger text for the more Significant words so that They stand out Different colored text so the words are different to the rest Formal font to represent the texts importance
  • 12. Paint Area Without Going Over Edges • Use this Select Tool to select an area to paint without going over an edge for example • 1. Select the area you want to color • 2. Click on the brush tool • 3. Select the color you want to use • 4. Then color the area • You will notice that the color will not overlap the areas that you didn’t select, this is how you use the select tool effectively when coloring an area
  • 13. Gradients • Gradients are used in photoshop to add a mix of colors in a fixed pattern instead of using a standard solid color • You can also edit the set gradients to maker them unique to you, this is done by changing the colors and patterns
  • 16. History • She was born in Quincy, Massachusetts in 1927 • Graduated in 1949 at Massachusetts College of Art whilst studying bachelor of fine arts and illustration • After graduating she got several jobs, one being in interior design and advertising • Casey’s work was mounted in an exhibition at The MIT Museum in 1992 and again in 2012 • Casey lectured many classes in schools, museums, colleges and universities • Examples of her work have been permanently placed at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City and also in the Library of Congress • She is well known in the graphics industry with her work being displayed in many graphic design magazines, annuals and in books on history of graphics design • Casey died in 1991 whilst trying to fight Cancer • She was very well known and appreciated for her word play in her graphicly designed images • One of Casey’s main aspects of her work is the way she contrasts large bold text with smaller text in the images • Casey was interested in art from an early age, at the age of 22 she was rewarded with a certificate of fashion design and illustration • During Casey’s career she received a BFA from The Mass College Of Art • In 1972 Casey started designing posters for university events and exhibitions • Casey is widely known as ‘a women in a mans world’ • Casey’s work is described by others as a ‘essence’ of each subject in human form
  • 17. Add filter / adjust filter • This will allow you to change your image in specific ways, for example turn your image into something that is made out of lines or dots • You can also change the contrast and the boldness of the lines or dots • My example here is using the halftone pattern filter, I can use either line, dot or circle filter
  • 18. Changing my illustration • My illustration has gone from being plain hand drawn to a unique graphicly designed image. • I have done this by using all different types of skills in photoshop, for example the eye dropper tool, the different filters available and the quick selection tool
  • 19. Propaganda illustration • I have styled my illustration into a propaganda themed illustration, the text still needs work doing, but to do this I have used filters, gradients and layer styles. • The propaganda color scheme is black and red so I have tried to stick to that scheme in this image
  • 20. Comparing my illustrations • I prefer my Evan Hecox style illustration because of the strong bold colors used, but on the other hand the propaganda style is very effective due to the filter I have used, which makes it look very strong and hand drawn
  • 22. Giuseppe Zanotti • This logo is very creative because it is using the designers signature, which therefore allows the company logo / brand to be unique to the designer • This is effective because there is not many brands that use this, so therefore this further makes the company stand out because of the significant difference in the companies logo idea • This is effective towards me and the audience because we know each time we see this signature it is representing the Giuseppe Zanotti brand
  • 23. Design fresh • This logo is very creative because it is using one image to symbolize several different meanings, so therefore the logo is ambiguous, which is a very effective technique used in the graphics industry • This is effective because it is showing the pencil to represent that the company comes up with new ideas for the graphics world. Then as you can see the pencil has bubbles coming out from the top as though it is something linked to physics or chemicals, this therefore means that something new is being created, which also links to the text because the world 'fresh' means something new and unique. • This is effective towards me and the audience because it is an eye catching logo, which makes me stop to try work out what the ambiguous meaning is. I know this image is effective because when I was searching for logos to use on google, this is one of the only ones that caught my eye on the first page
  • 24. Chanel • This logo is very creative because it is using the brand name to create a logo using its initials, as 'Chanel' is originally known as 'Coco Chanel', so therefore the back to back 'C's are being used effectively to create a memorable logo • This is effective because it allows the audience to remember the logo as it is unique to the brand, this also keeps the history of the brand by keeping the original name 'coco chanel' included in the updated logo. The boldness of the logo is also very effective because it symbolizes its importance in the fashion world • This is effective towards me and the audience because it is a very well known logo in the fashion world due to the brand being so well advertised and managed, this is also symbolized in the logo as the logo is represented as very luxurious, shown in the creativity of the two 'C's
  • 25. Positive and negative images • This effect is used to create one image, but also inside that image there is another hidden on, for example the apple logo uses this effectively and so does FedEx • As you can see this technique is used to add ambiguity to images. The FedEx logo has a hidden arrow to show that there is movement in the company, this links to the company because the company is a delivery company
  • 27. Point (dots, individual marks) • The point element is used to create images using random marks or dots • This is widely used in the tattoo industry to create complicated or specific tattoos • These points are also used to emphasize key ideas and to attract the audiences attention
  • 28. Line (straight, zig-zag, wavy) • This ‘line’ is the path left by a moving object or element, for example a brush or pencil • This element can be used to represent emotions, movements and contours • Lines are created manually, or randomly when two edges meet and form a connected line
  • 29. Shape (2D) • Shapes will help create complex drawings and paintings in the art industry • They are created by two edges or lines enclosing together to form a random ‘image’ which can be called a shape • We have well known shapes such as a ‘square’ or ‘circle’, but you can also create a random shape by starting at one point and ending up connecting back to that point • These 2D shapes have one length and one width which is what makes the shape 2D
  • 30. Shape (3D) • 3D shapes have depth as well as width and height • 3D designs are about creating forms such as a cube or cone • These shapes can be visualized, seen in real life or designed on a computer program
  • 31. Color (primary, vibrant, etc) • Color has three main aspects, hue, value and intensity • Color is generally used to create an emotion, for example dark colors using depict dullness or negativity • Specific colors are also used to create moods or describe the mood, for example red is usually anger and white is purity
  • 32. Tone (shading, light, dark) • Tones are created by the way light falls on a 3D object, so it could either be a light tone or a dark tone • The lighter areas are called highlights, which highlights a certain area • The darker areas are called shadows which represent the way light is shining down on an object creating a dark shadow of the object
  • 33. Pattern (repeating, stripes, etc) • Pattern can be described as a repeating image or shape, that will eventually create a unique image • Patterns are used a lot in optical illusions, which confuse the brain into trying to work out the illusion • Patterns can be created by putting random images on top of each other to create shapes that usually repeat
  • 34. Texture (real or visual) • Texture is the surface quality of the object that we see or touch, for example ‘soft’, ‘hard’ or ‘sharp’ • To create texture color, pattern, tone and line is used images so that the audience can visualize the texture • Texture is commonly described as the feeling or the look of the art work
  • 35. Composition (layout, structure) • In art or graphics composition is the placement of visual elements or images on the screen • This is used in books or magazines to layout images in certain orders • Art work is mainly created and designed by using Composition to position certain images or shapes to create a final image
  • 37. Shepard Fairey Response 1 I changed this image by using several different techniques. • Levels • Gradient map • Changing color mode I like this style because it is very eye catching and looks very effective even though it is easy to do, the colors also add a creative effect to the image, making it more appealing
  • 38. Shepard Fairey Response 2 I used different techniques to create this image. • Desaturation • Gaussian Blur • Posterize • Magic wand tool • Eye dropper • Polygonal lasso tool I Like this version of the image because of the vibrant colors used, which fit together really well and also the way the shapes have been used in the background to add effect
  • 39. Shepard Fairey Response 3 (my own example) • I followed the steps for the Response 1 and I changed them abit so my image is my own, I really like this image I created as the artist I used is well known and the colors work well with the image
  • 40. Shepard Fairey Response 4 (my own example) • I followed the steps for the Response 1 and I changed them abit so my image is my own, I really like this image I created as the artist I used is well known and the colors work well with the image, I also added the date to this image to give it more of an advertising effect
  • 41. Duplicate layers and add the same angle / effect
  • 44. Shapes with the Pen tool • 1. Select the pen tool • 2. Start clicking on the document to add points and then when you are finished connect the start and the end point together to bring the shape together • 3. Then select the stoke window to edit the thickness of the outline In this tool you can select the thickness, color and other features • 4. If you are not happy with some of the points, click the white arrow and then just click once on one of the points you want to edit / change, then once it is selected move the point and the shape will change according to the movement of the point
  • 45. Adding curves to lines • The anchor point is where you can add curves to lines to make the point go around round corners for example • The tool looks like this the bottom tool • You may already have anchor points if you are in the middle of connecting up your points, if not follow these steps • 1. Select the anchor point tool • 2. Click on the point where you want to add a curve and put the tool to use • 3. select the points on the anchor point tool and move so that you are happy with the curve that you have added
  • 46. My work – Version 1 I have used several different techniques to create this image up to now, I have used the pen tool to join points together, the anchor point tool to curve lines so that the shape matches my face shape and the eye dropper tool to match the shape color to my skin color.

  • 50. Examples GOOGLE I really like this CV because it is not just another boring old typed out CV, it represents the persons skills in the design of their CV. This CV also uses text and image, which works well because people see the image first and understand what the image is trying to say without reading the text. The colors are mixed colors to separate each part of the page http://www.columnfivemedi a.com/9-infographic-design- examples-that-will-leave- you-inspired This is a good infographic because the image of the color wheel is very central and is the biggest image on the page, this makes the audience. This is also an interactive like image as the audience can look at the image and see what color represents them, so aswell as informing it is also has some added fun to it. All of the different colors link to the advert because it is the color spectrum being used for the page http://blog.hubspot.com/ma rketing/best-infographics- 2015#sm.00000g98hvgvaxeg rzpzkrseig4i7 I like this infographic because it is informing people about a very serious matter in the world and is simplifying it down so it is more understandable. This is very good because it also allows young people to understand the problem because it is using smiley and sad faces instead of complicated text. Each of the different faces have different colors to make it clearer for the audience to see instead of having to look at the small images https://piktochart.com/blog /top-10-best-infographics- of-2013/ This infographic was much longer but I had to crop it out, they info shown is very helpful and effective because it has two versions of the text, a simple one word version then a descriptive part for people who want to know abit more about the outfit. The images shown in the page also add effect because it is showing the visual image instead of having to create the image in your head. The colors are very flat on this page which allows the image of the guys stood in different outfits to stand out and for the audience to focus on them. http://neomam.com/blog/ 8-awe-inspiring-video- game-infographics/ This infographic is very effective because it is on a subject that is very relevant to modern day, this therefore means it will attract a lot of young people from this modern day. This also uses images instead of subtitles to use mixed media for the page. The block colors are also effective as they create a formal side of the page aswell as the informative side.

Examples https://www.google.co.uk/searc h?q=infographics+gaming&client =safari&biw=1850&bih=915&so urce=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved =0ahUKEwilgov15sXPAhXKBsAK HY1ABN4Q_AUIBigB#tbm=isch& q=best+infographic&imgrc=wP3 aXCiYTC5_FM%3A I like this infographic because of the way it teaches the audience so much information about the subject, which is the 2012 Paralympics. Although there is a lot of text on the page, the images also allow the audience to further understand the page and are in replacement of sub headings. There is a set color scheme to the infographic which highlights more important information and also enlargens the text that is more significant than the other http://www.digitalinformati onworld.com/2014/05/socia l-media-life-of-app-addicted- teen-infographic.html I think this infographic is very effective because it is linking to modern day, which makes teens aware of the effects of social media. This infographic is very plain as it only has some text and large images, this makes the infographic straight to the point. The colors also work well together because it allows the images to stand out on the single color background, it also represents the way the topic is a simple, but effective topic being displayed. http://www.conceptdraw.co m/solution- park/infographics-data- driven http://1stwebdesigner.com/ infographics-tips-resources/ https://www.perceptualedg e.com/blog/?p=494 I like this infographic because of the way it is displaying information from a type of social media that is widely used across the graphics industry. The infographic is very well displayed and positioned as each piece of information is very clear and each piece is displayed differently helping to separate the information. The colors used on this infographic are 24 bold, strong colors that call stand out and work well together to again separate the information This infographic appeals to me because of the way it is simplying a topic that many people have to use video for, for example when people upload day in the life's onto YouTube. The colors used on this infographic are very bright and vibrant which represent the type of information being displayed. All of the info is connected through the yellow bar running down the middle of the page which allows people to work down the information in the right order and how the artists wants them to see it, abit like the Z formation This infographic is effective because it is using images and text, so that it is suitable for people who prefer to read, like middle aged people for example and then images for the younger generation. There is a key at the bottom of the page, which further allows people to understand the information being displayed. The color blue represents the sea as it is ‘sea’ based information being displayed.
