Doppelganger Script

Scene 1
Wakes up: Checks phone (time Shown *Thinks about her
date with her boyfriend and shows appreciation for what she
currently has*.
Enters the bathroom and brushes her teeth, washes her face
etc.. / Camera placed at an angle where her reflection is shown
in the mirror
Sings in the shower/ Camera placed outside bathroom
focusing on the door slightly cracked.
Leaves the bathroom, gets dressed and proceeds to cook
breakfast. / Multiple shots and camera angles focusing on the
items she is eating, what's going on at the stove and a few
shots of her.
She sits down and receives a text from her boyfriend telling
her that he will meet her at 2:00. In this moment, the time is
shown again and a transition is made into scene 2
Morning Scene/ Good Life
* = Character thinking to themselves
/ = Camera shot or angle that is done during
The clip
Scene 2
Wakes up in her car by the alarm from her phone. She then
checks her phones for messages and finds that she has no
notifications, representing loneliness.
Next, she begins to take drugs, using up whatever she has left.
She then begins to worry to herself about how she is out of
drugs and needs something to help her cope with her
loneliness
She then proceeds to put makeup on in her front mirror and
leaves her car
Morning scene in Car/ Bad Life
Scene 3
• She then proceeds to enter a pharmacy in search of
prescription drugs. (During this scene, an over the
shoulder, POV, and behind the back camera angle is used
to show the motion of the character)
• After entering the pharmacy, she checks the drugs section
for pills that are available. ( close-up on the products is
used) (over the shoulder and POV while looking at
products)
• She then walks up to the counter to purchase the
medication and her card is declined.
• Once her card is declined she leaves the pharmacy and
heads to the over ground. In the process, she gets a text to
her phone telling her that her phone bill is due. ( once the
phone is shown, a transition is made into the next scene.)
Pharmacy/ Bad Life
Scene 4
The scene begins with the main character talking/ laughing on
the phone with her friend that she is going shopping with.
(seen through a mid-shot that is considerably long in length).
The main character in the good life is seen getting dressed,
and applying make-up in the mirror. (showcased through an
angled mirror shot which shows her reflection. A series of
shots are used to show the clothing, bed and character once
she is fully dressed).
The main character then leaves her house and heads to the
underground station. (A behind the back, over the shoulder
and close-ups of the environment.)
As the actress walks into the over ground station, a transition
is made back to the good life.
At Home/ Good Life
Scene 5
• The main character walks through the station, gets on the train
and exits Canada water.
(series of shots showing the characters movement with a
few close-ups and mid-shots which document emotion{useful for
the voiceover}.
• She sits down on a bench, watching people pass by a while
later she calls her drug dealer. (Low angle shot from the front
to a high angle shot) (extreme long shot from the back of the
character)
(Over the shoulder to close up)
DD:yo! What you saying ;
MC:can I meet you to get the stuff?
• FLASH BACK – her good life when she's sitting in the café on
the phone.
• DD:yo yo , you there? Are you fucking there? Hello?
MC: …yea, where do you wanna meet?
DD: im busy I’ll message you in 5mins to let you know.
Canada Water/ Bad life
Scene 6 • Leave Canada water and walk towards the shopping
centre .(series of point of views, long shots, behind the
character)
• Goes into shopping centre, goes into a shop and attempts
to shoplift
• (during this scene a series of POV’s, close-ups on clothing
and longshots will be used to capture the action of
shoplifting)
• The main character then successfully shoplifts and leaves
the store.
• As she is leaving the store she is sent a text about the
location of the transaction. (over the shoulder shot)
(zoomed in on message)
• As she turns her phone off she checks the time and a
transition is made into the next scene
Shop lifting/ Bad life
Scene 7
• Enters the shop (long shot)
• Buys something (POV/OTS)
• Leaves the shop (long shot)
• Meets her bf by uber
• Multiple shots in cab
• Walks toward the café to meet her bf
• She enter café approaches bf
• Sits and have coffee and food
• timelapse
Shopping/ Good Life
Scene 8
The main character approaches an alley way and sees her drug dealer
waiting for her.
She then asks the drug dealer if he has her drugs?
The drug dealer replies and asks her if she has money for the transaction
this time?
In a embarrassing manner she insituates she has no money but they have
known each together for a long time so she asks for a handout.
After she says this, the drug dealer shows aggravation and offers her a
sexual alternative in order to get the drugs.
Standing there nervously, she agrees to the deal and walks off with the
dealer doubtful of the circumstances. (Shot reverse shot, mid shot and
close-ups of her face and body language.)
A series of shots is seen of her showing resentment and doubt of the
situation
She then sits on the side of his bed as the drug dealer proceeds to get
dressed, showcasing that they had a sexual interaction.
After putting his bottoms on, he hands the main character the bag of
drugs
She then leaves the flat and heads to work after stuffing the drugs in her
pocket
Drug Transaction/ Bad Life
Scene 9
Before starting her shift, she heads to the toilet in order to
check the authenticity of the drugs (tasting the drug) and
places it in her bag.
Someone knocks on the door and she hurry's out and begins
work.
A time-lapse is then done to showcase the duration of her
shift.
Work/ Bad life
Scene 10
The main character then leaves work showing that she has
had a stressful day.
She then heads to the park on her way to her car and proceeds
to do drugs. ( Camera following her from the back and side
showcasing her movement to the park (High angle, long shot
and over the shoulder)
Once she has done the drugs, the camera is then used to
showcase that she is under the influence and adds effect to the
film. (POV)
As she approaches the road that her car is on, she is then
struck by her car.
The car scene uses a multitude of shots ranging from the POV
of the driver and POV of the main character seeing the car
coming.
Death/ Bad life
Scene 11
• Her bf from the rich life exits the car and helps her.
• While she’s lying down and dying.
• Her life is fading and the truth is revealed to the audience
that the rich never occurred.
• See her dream man with another girl in the car
• Thoughts of the real reality:
• Karen wakes up
• She sees Karen's leave a shop with a river island bag.
• her bf sitting down with a different girl while she serves
them.

  • 2. Scene 1 Wakes up: Checks phone (time Shown *Thinks about her date with her boyfriend and shows appreciation for what she currently has*.
