- 2. {Double Spread Page} The layout of the writing/article is quite minimalistic but you get a grip of who Adam is and the language of writing is very formal and mature ‘audacious’ is one word used. – this shows the audience of this artist and the magazine – adults. The typography is normal in standard font – supposedly to show that ‘Adam Lambert’ is just like a normal person even if he is famous. The main image of Adam Lambert is quite sexualised even though he is fully clothed he is wearing leather and is slanting his pelvis outwards. He facial pose is pouty and he is raising one eyebrow upwards to show a sexy glare. The colour of his clothing matches those of the background to show resemblance and reflection of his personality. – dark, mysterious and sexual. Colour; its a dark lightning but then graduates down to a dark grey, this resembles and reflects the personality of the artists. The Mast head of this page is ‘Show Time’ the language suggests that he is flamboyant and dramatic and the colouring is also suggesting that with the red contrasting to the background and the use of yellow dots resembling spot lights of those of “Broadway” much like the font itself shows a aesthetic that is quite dramatic. The language used in the sub-text here suggests the artist is “wild” but is still young, yet the language of the article is quite mature and more for adults, the emphasis on the ‘American Idol’ shows that what he is known for and the words ‘Burst’ and ‘Explosion’ suggest he is exciting, and stands out, its almost like you cant miss him . – also words like leather and glitter are sexualised. This is the only colour used on the page, its in bold and is quite large so clearly this is meant to be the most important to the article /page and has most meaning – they’re are “grown-up” and should be taken seriously. The expressions on the boys faces denotates seriousness and connotates that of what relates to the title ‘Boys to Men’ they're not children anymore and should be taken seriously. The Background/image is in black and white and is a full body shot (even if they are posed) – B&W suggests the opposite to vibrant and more formal and mature feel. The language is formal but is not difficult, so this is appealing to there young fan base of teenagers, its very descriptive and uses imagery with the use of similes also. The language in this is basic but suggests that ending with a question shows a doubt that the band wouldn’t continue if they weren't appealing to a young audience anymore. Indication of magazine name.
