This document summarizes 4 experiments on measuring body composition:
1. Experiment 1 measures Body Mass Index (BMI) to determine if a person is underweight, normal weight, overweight or obese. BMI is calculated from weight and height.
2. Experiment 2 measures waist and hip circumference to determine abdominal (central) obesity, which is linked to cardiovascular disease and diabetes.
3. Experiment 3 uses a fatmeter to directly measure body fat percentage, muscle mass, and water/mineral composition, providing a more accurate picture of obesity than BMI alone.
4. Experiment 4 is not described but involves additional measurements of body composition.
