Dreamer Evaluation tasks 4 - 7
Typical audience
                       member
• A typical Audience member would have to be in an age group of
  between 15 and 25.
• This person is 18 and enjoys movies such as inception and Fight
  club.
• 18 is a good age as it means you are likely to still be at school which
means they have spare time, unlike some who is in there 30’s
having a full time job with very little time to sit down and watch a
  movie.
• He enjoys psychological thrillers.
• His favourite films our inception as well as knowing.
• In his last year of college and applying for University.
• Watch’s a large amount of films as he has a lot off free time.
Movie certificate
we decided to put our film the ‘Dreamer’
a 15 certificate. We choose this because
our film has certain elements that puts it
under the 15 category, this includes
smoking and also moderate scenes of
violence. This is based on the rating
 through the BBFC.
However this cuts down our target
 audience a huge amount, recently
however some statistics show that 15+
movies have been the most watched
 within the last 3 years.
How did you attract/address
                                                your audience
                                    • Throughout our film, the audience can relate to it, right
from the start when the driving is smoking and the
whole cast is teenagers, as our target audience is
teenagers and above, we had a teenage cast meaning
that they could relate to the actors.
                                    • They could also relate to the subject matter of
misbehaving. You teenager being chased most have
done something to be getting chassed by this driver.
                                    • The audience can also relate to the driving, how the
majority of our audience will of the age to be able to
drive, so this is another matter they can relate to.
                                    • If we were to advertise our film, we would use the
technique viral marketing, we would use sights such as
twitter, Facebook and YouTube to get word of mouth
                                        out as well.

• Having such a young cast meant we could get them to help spread the world as well, the cast
could make fan pages on Facebook and also link the trailer from YouTube to there profiles which
would result in more people viewing the trailer.

• We also would make Facebook pages, that tells the audience a bit more about the film and the
characters, this would get the audience intrigued about the film before it has even been released.
What have you learnt about
• I Sony Vegas technologies from the process
• Video Camera
                       of constructing this product
• PowerPoint
• Internet –
    – Blogger
    – YouTube
    – Specific film sites (IMDB)
• In this picture this is showing how we changed the colours to give the dreamy effect.
• We used the Video FX, effect RGB to BGR. This changed the colours from red to blue, green
to a lighter green and blue to red.
• As you can see from the screen in the top right this colour change worked very well, with
the sky having a tint of red and the grass being a strange green colour to give the
impression of a dream even more.
• We used this just for the dream and then when Bryan woke up the colours changed back to
    normal.
• During our film we had a short section where we placed the dream, inside Bryan’s eye.
We Did this on Sony Vegas and had to use many effect to be able to pull this off.
• First of all we used the Video FX effect, circle cut out, Centre, blurred. This gave us to
images on top of each other.
• We then had to make the eye footage see through and by doing this we brought the
opacity down to 32 on the dream footage and brought the opacity on the eye down to
    92.
• As you can see in the top right of the screen shot, this pulled of very well and you could
see Cleary everything through the eye which was a great effect.
• We used two flashes throughout our film. One flash we used when the driver
kicked the runner and Bryan woke up.
• We also used the flash after the eye sequence.
• We use the flash from the transactions, using the hard flash as seen above.
• We used it because it gave a great effect and a good way of changing scene.
• The flash can been seen in use in top right of the screen where the flash has just
  taken place after the eye.
Looking back at your preliminary task,
what do you feel you have learnt in
progression from it to the full product?
• I believe almost everything I did in my Preliminary task
was new and I learnt a lot, as well as learning a lot, I
also used a lot in my full project.
• Also was good to learn some new techniques on the
editing program before we had to edit our full project.
• Our plan was to film at light, however through our
preliminary task we found out that filming in bad light
didn’t look good, this resulted in me and Bryan filming
in daylight instead of our original plan to film at night.
• The 180 degree rule was key in our preliminary task.
Learnt the importance of this and was able to use this
  in my project.
