Modula II GSM-R Call Station
The Modula II GSM-R Call Station from Trans Data Management
Communication that isn’t limited by time and place. No need for fixed lines or secondary networks. The
Modula II GSM-R Call Station allows for operation even in remote areas, transferring voice and data
communication via GSM-R networks.
The Modula II GSM-R is virtually unlimited.
Do you need to handle emergency calls, transmit data or control signals to a central station with
guaranteed reliability? Do you need a mobile emergency call facility and information stations that can
be put into operation at short notice?
Would you like to control and monitor disparate systems without fixed network connections?
All of these situations can be addressed by the Modula II GSM-R Call Station.
Wherever there is no landline connection and when it would be prohibitively expensive to lay a cable
often an issue on the railways! The Modula II GSM-R call station offers the perfect solution.
Wireless, Dependable Data Transmission
The Modula II GSM-R, transfers communication and data via GSM and GSM-R. The reliability of these
wireless solutions is demonstrated by multiple security features:
 GSM Quad-band technology 850/ EGSM-R 900 / 1800 / 1900 for voice and data connections.
(Backup can be provided with a secondary SIM card on another GSM network)
 eMLPP(Enhanced Multi-level Precedence and Pre-emption); call prioritisation can be defined for
each call target
 Redundant message transmission via text message (SMS) if the voice channel cannot be
established
 Integrated voice recording for local output of audio announcements: instructions, reassurance
messages, general information, etc.
 User-definable configuration of multiple numbers, with call priority per number for each call key
and LED for visual display of call status
 Sabotage detection automatically triggering a call if an attempt is made to break open or
dismantle the device
 Status reports are regularly sent from the call station. Frequency of the messages is configurable
 A periodic self-test of all main components quickly identifies possible malfunctions.
System Overview
Routing calls over the GSM-R or GSM network the Modula II GSM-R call stations can be fully integrat-
ed into the NIS-Rail communication platform, this offers additional functions such as CCTV images of
incoming calls, regular monitoring of call stations, and centralised configuration of call stations.
Multiple Benefits
 The following features make the Modula II GSM-R call station particularly attractive:
 Thanks to GSM-R technology, intelligent power management and a solar power supply, the
Modula II call station is completely independent of fixed-line networks
 With versatile configuration options, the Modula II call station functions can be tailored to meet
the customer requirements
 A robust IP65 rated enclosure guarantees reliable operation even in
 a harsh environment
 The NIS-Rail Management-Suite is available to configure, operate and monitor Modula II GSM-R
call stations
 Key parameters can be configured and modified by text message
