The Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project is a 23-mile extension of the Metrorail Orange Line that will connect Washington D.C. to Dulles International Airport. Phase 1 will build 11 new stations from East Falls Church to Wiehle Avenue. Phase 2 will extend the line through Dulles Airport to Ashburn. The project aims to boost economic development and mobility in the corridor, which includes Tysons Corner, Reston, Dulles Airport and Loudoun County. Construction is underway and passenger service for Phase 1 is scheduled to begin in late 2013.
