The document is a collection of work by students in the e-Learners Team at Putauaki school. It contains photos and descriptions of different products and their costs in New Zealand currency. Each student created slides showing New Zealand money and 3 self-chosen products that different notes and coins can buy. They photographed the money alongside the products and included information about the currency and products. The slides were compiled into a class project comparing New Zealand money to currencies from around the world.

- 2. e-Learners Team at Putauaki We are learning to understand the look and worth of money around the world. Pre-production: Decide on which pieces of money you will photograph. Make a list of 3 self-chosen products that the notes and/or coins can buy. Collect the products so that you can photograph these alongside your money. Production: Photograph the notes and/or coins alongside the items each currency is worth. Post-production: Create a simple powerpoint of four slides. Slide 1 is to be your ‘title’ slide. Slides 2 -4 will be photographs of the currency and products. Include written information about the currency and the products in slides 2-4. Whaea Jeanette will upload all powerpoints as one class project to Slideshare. Our slideshare project will then be posted or linked to www.onedayonearth.org Over the next few weeks we visit those who have contributed to the project. - 64. The planning, printing and production of New Zealand bank notes is a complex business and requires that many skilled operators be employed for up to two years before the date of issue. Decisions have to be made with regard to the sizes of each denomination. Then rough designs are drawn up to incorporate the various features of the note, including the: watermark words denomination pictures of people, birds, plants Maori ornamentation (tukutuku patterns) numbering, and colours Once these features are agreed upon, a group of artists get together to produce an exact picture of the back and front of each denomination. These pictures are produced in the correct size and colours with the aid of a computer-based design system. This picture must also satisfy printing capabilities and security requirements against forgery.
