What is E-Learning?
E-Learning is the delivery of a learning,
training or education program by
electronic means.
Types of E-Learning.
1) Synchronous
• Interaction through Virtual
classrooms(VCR’s), instant messaging, chat,
audio and video conferencing .
2) Asynchronous
• Interaction through message boards, bulletin
boards, discussion forums, computer based
training(CBTs) modules on CD-Rom’s, Web based
training accessed through intranet (WBTs) or
through well written articles and other write
ups.
Benefits or Advantages of E-Learning.
1. Time and Money Savings
2. Flexible in nature
3. The learning retention is high.
Disadvantages or Challenges Faced.
1. The lack of learners’ motivation.
2. Learners can't see the real world implications
of the eLearning course.
3. Slow or unreliable Internet connections can
be frustrating.
4. Material Incompatibility

essential too as it enable you to actually
understand and experience the concepts you
learn as well as learn other concepts and get new
ideas from the mentor apart from the specified
syllabus.
