The document presents an energy-efficient path configuration method called Energy-efficient Path Configuration Method for Dynamic En-route Filtering (EDEF) for wireless sensor networks (WSNs), which utilizes fuzzy logic to select forwarding nodes and create alternative paths to combat false report attacks from compromised nodes. The proposed method demonstrates up to 8.2% energy efficiency improvement over the existing Dynamic En-route Filtering (DEF) scheme, while enhancing early false report detection capabilities. EDEF employs criteria such as key content, number of neighbor nodes, and residual energy, allowing for optimized selection of forwarding nodes to extend network lifetime.
