This document outlines a study that aims to assess mothers' level of awareness of prevention of mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT) of HIV. The study hypothesizes that mothers' awareness of PMTCT is low. It will use a descriptive, cross-sectional design to survey mothers visiting obstetrics departments. Independent variables like age, education, and exposure to PMTCT counseling will be examined in relation to the dependent variable of awareness level. Data will be collected through interviews and analyzed using statistical methods to achieve the objectives of assessing awareness levels, related factors, and how sociodemographic characteristics relate to awareness. The goal is to inform policies and programs to increase mother awareness of PMTCT.
