- 2. Overlapping Footage I overlapped our footage in some places to create a ‘jittery’ effect which suited the tone of the music and the video. Overlapping some stock footage was also a good way to create a transition with which to move between scenes in a manner which suited the footage. The ‘jittery’ effect was achieved by reducing the opacity of one of the video files which are overlapping.
- 3. Mute To ensure that only the audio track featuring the song was audible (Audio 1), it was necessary to mute the other audio tracks which featured audio content from our recorded footage. Muted
- 4. Leave Colour The ‘Leave Colour’ effect was used to focus the shot on only one colour, allowing the remainder of the shot to be featured in grayscale and low key colours. This effect helped to maintain the eerie tone of our video. We increased the decolour on each shot to 99% Focused on all green colour in the shot Switched ‘Match Colors’ to ‘Using Hue’
- 5. Fast Blur I used the ‘Fast Blur’ effect to blur the image of some shots, maintaining the eerie tone of the video by somewhat hiding the characters or landscape in individual shots. ‘Blurriness’ increased to 26 ‘Blur Dimensions’ changed to ‘Horizontal’
- 6. In shots featuring the artist lip syncing, fast colour corrector was used to give a colder saturation to the clip, tinting the image blue. This maintains the tone of the video. Fast Colour Correction ‘Output’ to ‘Composite’ The ‘Hue Balance and Angle’ dial is turned to the blue section of the dial
- 7. Slow Motion/Speed and Duration I increased the duration of and lowered the speed of some clips to add to the suspense of the video and maintain time with the music track itself in an atmospheric way. Speed reduced from 100% to 30%
