An Educational Media Center (EMC) is a facility that provides teachers and students with access to instructional materials and media technologies to support teaching and learning. It is important to establish and maintain an EMC because it allows for multi-media learning, individualized instruction, and helps teachers and students take advantage of media specialists' expertise. The EMC contains a variety of low-tech and high-tech materials that are organized for easy access and use. It is managed by qualified staff who can assist users and troubleshoot equipment problems.
