This document summarizes a presentation about improving student performance and competence in East Asia. It outlines some common problems in the region such as an over-reliance on entrance exams. The team then proposes two solutions: 1) making entrance exams more flexible and inclusive of other skills and 2) changing national curriculums to include more experiential learning opportunities beyond textbooks, such as discussions via Skype with foreign students, project-based learning competitions, and student-led teaching. The overall goal is to develop more well-rounded, globally-minded future leaders in East Asia.
