Problem Description
Underwater Sensor Networks (UASN) routing issues:
• High Propagation Delay.
• Higher Maintenance Cost.
• Energy Consumption of Nodes.
o Clusters.
• Redundant Data Sensing.
o Optimal Values
• Higher Bit Error Rate Because of Acoustic Channel.

Related Work
• Node Clustering for UASN have been exploited.
• LEACH: CH selected with optimal number and spent
more energy for data transmission.
(Data Aggregation)
• LEACH-L : CH is selected on basis of distance to the
sink thus minimizing probability of poor candidate
selection.

• Energy Efficient Nested Clustering.
• Idle/Awake Awareness
• Region division in small virtual grids.
• CHs are selected on basis of residual energy.
• Formation of small groups in close proximity.
• EENC has three phases
o Initial Grouping of Nodes (IGN)
o Cluster Formation Phase (CFP)
o Data Transmission Phase (DTP)

 Packet Transmission Ratio (PTR):
PTR means the number of redundant
packets sent to CH via Active Node + to
the sink via CH throughout the network
lifetime.

Achievements:
1. We reduce energy consumption by nested clustering.
2. We reduce data redundancy while data transmission.
Future work
• Optimal switching of the nodes.
• Testing EENC with DDD routing protocol.
• EENC compatibility with AUV Based schemes.
• Optimal no of Cluster Heads.
