Prepositions Combos… Verb + Preposition Combinations : write to … = escribir a… talk to … = hablarle a… listen to … = escuchar a… think about … = pensar en… Adjective + Preposition Combinations : worried about … = preocupado por… happy with … = feliz con… interested in … = interesado en… Examples : Roger  writes to  her every day Denice is  worried about  him The priest is  interested in  us Let me  listen to  her I  think about  her every day
WH-Questions – Subject & Predicate WH –  Subject : Who  loves Mercedes? Who  is interested in him? Who  writes to her every day? WH –  Predicate : Who   does  Rogerio Love? Who   is  Jen interested in? Who   do  you write to every day? Original Sentence : Rogerio  Loves  Mercedes Jen  is interested in  him I  write to  her  every day
The Present Continuous is used to talk about actions in progress; actions going on “ now ”/“ right now .” El Presente Continuo es usado para hablar de acciones en progreso; acciones sucediendo “ ahora ”/“ ahora mismo .” Example : Denice’s children  are listening  to her  now .
The Present Continuous is used to talk about actions in progress; actions going on “ now ”/“ right now .” The Teacher   is   talk ing  to his students  now Subject BE(am/is/are) BASE FORM “ ing ”
Affirmative Sentences: He’s swimm ing  in  Punta Hermosa . Negative Sentences: Socorro isn’t wear ing  blue jeans. Yes/No Questions: Is Denice driv ing  a car? Yes, she is./No, she isn’t. WH-Questions: Who  is talk ing  to John? The teacher  is talk ing  to John. Who  is the teacher talk ing  to? He’s talk ing  to  John . Notice the Spelling of the continuous verb form: (1) wear = wearing (2) swim = swimming (+ m) (3) drive = driving (- e)
Conversation/ Conversación Fred: Are you working now? Inspector Gadget: Yes, I am.  I’m solving an important case. Fred: Wow…An inspector has an  difficult job… Inspector Gadget: Mmm…What are You doing now? Fred: I’m playing with my daughter, Pebbles. Inspector Gadget: Well…let me tell you…a parent’s job is difficult too. Fred: Maybe you are right. Vocabulary : solving = resolviendo case = caso doing = haciendo playing = jugando maybe you are right = talvez tienes la razón Well… = Bueno…
