Elastic Cache is a web service that makes it’s easy to deploy, operate and scale and in-
memory cache in the cloud.
This Services improves the performance of web application from fast, managed, in-memory,
Cache, instead of relaying entirely or slower disk-based database.
Amazon Elasticache offers fully Managed Redis and Memcached for your most demanding
application that requires Sub-millisecond response times.
Amazon Elastic cache allows you to Seamlessly set up, run and Scale open-source
compatible in-memory data stores in the cloud.
Amazon Elastic cache is a popular choice for real-time use caches like Caching, Session
stores, Gaming, Geospatial Services, Real-time Analytics, and Queuing.
1) How to create Elasticache?

1. If you are already the member of AWS cloud then login to the AWS account,
if not then create AWS account.
2. Go to the Elasticache Dashboard, On the top right side Click on “Get started”.

3. Then Click on create Cluster, then choose the cluster type.

4. If Redis cluster chosen,
Step 1: Cluster setting,
 Choose a cluster creation method, Select configure and create a new
method.
 Make the cluster mode as Disable.

 In Cluster info: Enter the name of Cluster and Description (Optional).

 In Location: choose the AWS cloud for the Elasticache instances.
 In Multi Availability Zones, Make that Disable.
5. In Cluster Setting:
 Select the engine version 7.0.
 Enter the port number, make that as default.
 Then select the parameter groups if you have or select default one.
 Select the Node type to be deployed and its associated memory Size.
 Then Enter the Number of replicas between 0 to 5.
6. In connectivity:
 Select the Network type.
 Then Select the Subnet group if already or create a new subnet group.
 Give the Name of the Subnet groups and description (Optional).
 Then Select the VPC if already or create a new VPC.
 Select the Availability Zones Placements.
 Then Click on Next.

7. IN Advanced settings,
 Under Security, Make the Encryption at rest Enable and choose the
default key.

8. Under Backup:
 Make as Enable the automatic backups
 Then Select the Backup retention period.
 Choose the Backup windows – No preferences.

9. Under Maintenance,
 Select the maintenance window- No Preference
 Make Enable for Auto upgrade minor versions.
 Select the Topic for Amazon SNS notification- Disable the
notifications.

10. Under logs,
 Enable the Slow Logs
 Select the log format-JSON.
 Select the log destination type -CloudWatch.
 Then select the log destination if already or create new log group.

 Then Click on Next.
11. Under advanced setting, Create and Review all the details.

13. Creating cluster is successful.
