PART 2: Choose one of these elements and plan a lesson for your grade level. Include your objective, your introduction and your guided practice. Also include how this lesson will support ELL’s.

Additional Ways to Scaffold English • Build background knowledge with artifacts, videos, photos, maps, books, etc. • Highlight words on word wall and use illustrations. • Have students work with partners or in small groups. • Demonstrate how to do projects and provide examples. • Read aloud to students every day. • Have students state a fact they have learned at the end of instruction. • Have students dramatize vocabulary words. • Use interactive writing to teach writing strategies and skills. • Make graphic organizers of learning. • Have students share ideas with a partner before sharing with the class.
