Scopus is a large database that indexes over 22,000 peer-reviewed journals, conferences, and books, with over 5,000 publishers. It provides more extensive coverage than its main competitor, indexing over 10,000 additional journal titles. Scopus also indexes more regional and local language content. An analysis of a researcher, Amílcar Falcão, showed that Scopus indexed 5% more of his peer-reviewed publications and recorded higher citation counts for his top papers than the main competitor. Scopus also integrates more fully with ORCID author profiles.
