Her role is being modified: now she
needs to look for a long life guidance and
long life learning. She must involve both
educators and students. For that she
needs to sensibilize, inspire, guide, to be
relevant, create resources, share them,
and network for collaborative work. All
that with school leaders, parents,
teachers, students and support from
colleagues: innovators from enterprises,
innovators from other schools,
documents from EU about long life
learning and guidance.
What a challenge! May be it´s too
much ambitious. It has strategic value
for the academic success, for
behavior, for life. She thinks she will
need support from colleagues, from
professional network. Need to be
creative. Need to dream and to be
entrepreneur and inspire others. Need
to have support from the school
leaders.
Reflection, notetaking, brainstorming
Excited but afraid: it seems too
much just for one. Need to feel in
team; need to feel energetic and
optimistic.
Afraid of being alone and not have
the power to change so many
others that are conservative.
She needs to feel empowered.
She wants to involve everyone and to
too much things.
She didn’t keep it simple.
She looks to the problem from a very
high perspective.
She isn’t really seeing her self doing
simple tasks to accomplish the main
results
She is putting her self in a theoretical,
and resource finding and compiling
information; she dint take de role of a
simple counselor doing simple activities
for their students, not even as a role
model to teachers.
Problem statement:
The school counselor is an innovator, but she feels alone and overwhelmed by so much works she must to do. She loves challenges and is strongly
committed with school transition to work because she works in a very poor community so disadvantaged. Also she is very ambitious and she putting her self
in a high position, not seeing her self modeling or doing simple activities.
Needs
She needs get influence over leaders to gather time and opportunity to do this job; she needs networking with her counselors mates and with teachers. She
needs to do so much work!!! She needs to figure out how to do everything in a strategic way. She may be needs to put herself in a more pratical role.
Insights
She needs more power to do ambitious things or she needs less power to do simple things. She needs to decide!
If the first is chosen, she will need to have some empowered role models with her and to prove she is committed with national and European strategies that
reassure school leaders and school teachers that it worth this work.
