Fresh university graduate currently enrolled in a graduate trainee program with a financial consulting agency in Hong Kong. 22 years of age Undergrad studies: Chemistry (major) Business (minor) 1. I am learning things on my own (e.g. reading books about communication, active listening, etc. ) and asking others for advice; 2. I need to develop the habit of observing the world around me (staying current with news and issues. I’ve been living in my own bubble all these years!) It appears that an average university student, with some business training and engagement in student activities, is not prepared for the work setting /professional environment. Despite the use of business case studies in courses, or the facilitation of student development programs, it is still not enough to equip these students for their transition. The outgoing, forthright, motivated and ambitious young man who recently graduated from the School of Science and starting his career in a financial institution equip himself in the business / work environment and learn the basic, required skills it is something that he lacked preparation in, but is necessary to position himself as a more competent and confident employee
