ENGLISH READING IS FUN Reading is a fascinating world children can discover very soon if we help them. Whatever you choose to read with your child, make it an enyoable experience. Children have fun visiting magical places, getting to know special characters, finding the answers to questions, and reading with the rhythm of poetry. We can choose from graded readers based on movies and hit TV series like Spiderman and Indiana Jones, to comics, audio books, etc.
It was ivented by Blaine Raine, a Spanish teacher in Bakersfield, California in 1990. He combined the TPR from Dr James Asher and the strategies to acquire a language of Dr Stephen Krashen. He used the TPR to make students learn a second language in the same way as they acquire their first one. They must be exposed to the language for a long time first, listening to it. TOTAL PHYSICAL RESPONSE METHOD IN STORYTELLING
HOW TO TEACH TPRS (OBJECTIVES) Krashen’s research states the theory that children just need two things to learn to read in any language; access to books and a comfortable place to read them. WHY IS IT EFFECTIVE? It focuses on children Each tale is different to maintain their interest. It provides positive feedback like inconditional love and praise.
LEARNING ENGLISH THROUGH READING Children can acquire a language in a natural way without being aware of it. They’ve got a greater capacity to acquire sounds, and they use their own comprehension strategies. Just by reading children start to internalize the language and culture very quickly, they are in contact with a lot of vocabulary, grammar and sounds. A good advice would be to read our child in English at night or use an audio on the internet.
THE WORLD OF PETER RABBIT Beatrix Potter is one of the most known children novelists in English Literature and Peter Rabbit is her most known character. Beatrix did not only show a detailed picture of the british society at the time, she also wrote letters and drew pictures for children because she loved them. This is the introduction to one of the best-loved children’s stories of all time- The Tale of Peter Rabbit.“ Once upon a time there were four little Rabbits, and their names were Flopsy, Mopsy, Cotton-tail and Peter”. Beatrix used onomatopoeias and varied sounds to portray her exciting world.
ADVANTAGES OF READING Reading gives children happiness and excitement It cherishes and encourages their spirit. It helps to exercise the muscles related to intelligence. It opens new horizons to their imagination. It awakens their creative spirit. WHY SHOULD YOU READ TO YOUR CHILD? Reading aloud to children helps them to learn about the internal structure of stories- how they begin, the different types of conflicts present, and the possible solutions to them. They sometimes learn empathy for other and see other sides to a story, such as understanding what the main character is going through, be it fear, anger, or humility.
ENHANCEMENT OF READING When we tell a story, it must be full of life, colours, sounds and gestures so that the children can identify themselves with the characters of the story and put their imagination into play. An interesting tool is the use of computer resources like audio books in which we find very famous storytellers. We need to allow the word “reading” to apply as much to listening to text as to using our eyes to take it in. Finally the use of fairy tales, nursery rhymes and songs is not just for children. Using them to teach ESL students can be fun and educational. They can learn some vocabulary, intonation patterns, sentence structures, etc.
SOME TALES TO READ

CONCLUSION I think it has become clear that reading can not only be fun but it is also necessary to develop children autonomous learning and skills. Through books, children can travel to far away lands and learn about life in the jungle or on a cattle ranch. Finally, when reading fairy tales or modern fantasy, children learn how to use their imagination, to view situations from various perspectives, and to know that events can be seen from different viewpoints.
