- 7. S YOU NEED CASE STUDY SITUATION Without the drive, the plant would suffer enormous losses. ERIKS’ investigations revealed that a previous oil leak, and subsequent lubrication issues, were the main contributing factors to the failure. SOLUTION ERIKS reworked and repaired the drive, at the same time adding the innovative Gearbox Guard early warning system to monitor temperature, vibration and oil levels, and report every 10 seconds using cloud technology. SAVING The drive was totally inoperative and without it the plant could not run. The OEM’s best repair time was 18+ weeks.
