Essay On Behavior
Writing an essay on the topic of behavior can be both intriguing and challenging. The difficulty
lies in navigating the vast and intricate landscape of human behavior, encompassing
psychological, sociological, and biological dimensions. The multifaceted nature of this subject
demands a comprehensive understanding of various theories, research findings, and real-world
examples.
Crafting an insightful essay on behavior requires a careful balance between theoretical concepts
and practical applications. It involves delving into the complexities of human nature, exploring
the interplay of genetics, environment, and individual experiences that shape behavior. One must
critically analyze different perspectives, ranging from classical behaviorism to contemporary
cognitive and social theories.
Moreover, addressing the ethical considerations associated with studying and interpreting
behavior adds another layer of complexity. Discussing sensitive topics such as cultural
influences, societal norms, and the impact of technology on behavior necessitates a nuanced
approach. Writers must navigate the potential pitfalls of stereotyping and oversimplification
while providing a well-rounded view of the subject.
Structuring the essay also poses a challenge, as it requires organizing diverse information
coherently and presenting arguments logically. Choosing the right balance between empirical
evidence and theoretical frameworks is essential to constructing a compelling narrative.
In conclusion, tackling an essay on behavior is a demanding task that requires a deep
understanding of psychological, sociological, and biological principles. The writer must skillfully
weave together various strands of knowledge, presenting a nuanced and insightful exploration of
the topic.

The Power of the Family in White Noise Essay examples
The Power of the Family in White Noise
Don Dellilo s protagonist in his novel White Noise, Jack Gladney, has a nuclear
family that is, ostensibly, a prime example of the disjointed nature way of the family
of the 80 s and 90 s what with Jack s multiple past marriages and the fact that his
children aren t all related. It s basically the antipodal image of the 1950 s nuclear
family. Despite this surface level disjointedness, it is his family and the extrasensory
rapport that he shares with them allows Jack to survive in his world. Murray, Jack s
friend, argues that The family is strongest where objective reality is most likely to be
misinterpreted (82). Heinrich, Jack s son, explicates this notion in his constant ...

So in recounting the smell of panties etc., and viewing such encounters with either
irony, sympathy and fond amusement, Jack is able not only to affirm the present and
escape the past, but accomplishes something much larger: namely the ability to affirm
the realness of such feelings. Thus the family, in this instance Babette, serves as the
medium through which Jack is able to overcome Heinrich s skepticism (which is
representative of modern science (24)) as to the reality of human emotions. DeLillo s
image, moreover, of Jack and Babette rescuing themselves from the past also suggests
that without family or someone to commune with, man can become lost in the past.
DeLillo s novel is almost obsessively concerned with appliances: TVs, radios,
microwaves etc. They are omnipresent, not only in the characters worlds but within
the narrative itself. DeLillo repeatedly interrupts his narrative with sentences like
The TV said: And other trends that could dramatically impact our portfolio (61) or
MasterCard, Visa, American Express (100) or That chirping sound was just the
radiator (94). Just as Jack s world is one suffused with such objects, so too is the
narrative, a technique which DeLillo uses to force the reader into Jack Gladney s
world. Objects play a dualistic role in Jack s familial life. Jack tells us that
Nathaniel Hawthorne Puritan Influence
Nathaniel Hawthorne Puritan Influence Nathaniel Hawthorne drew from his personal
and childhood experiences to write his literary works. The event that affected him
and showed in his writing was ...the infamous Salem witch trials had taken place
more than 100 years earlier, the events still hung over the town and made a lasting
impression on the young Hawthorne...( The Scarlet, History.com). By the event
having a impact on him from a young age it affected his writing and helped him in
the development of a strong minded main character in his book The Scarlet Letter.
Knowing about the earlier life of Nathaniel Hawthorne will help the reader better
understand why Puritanism is the bulk of his literary works. Nathaniel Hawthorne

Within The Scarlet Letter Hawthorne developed characters that can be related to. By
Hawthorne mentioning his Puritan ancestors in the beginning of his book shows that
he studied the topic of puritanism before talking about it. Hester Prynne was a
character well developed by Hawthorne who goes through problems that society
could possibly go through. In Hawthorne s novel The Scarlet Letter before the
novel began critics talked about the book and the characters, and gave a good
description to Hester Prynne as a Creation of someone who loved woman, saw her,
as verdi did, as necessary tragic and alone, but emotionally sacred in a diminished
world (Hawthorne). This description of Hester was a excellent when it came to
describing her as a bit of a outcast among her peers. As mentioned beforehand

Wrestling Styles Research Paper
It was 6:00 pm, February 10th, 2016. A freshman had just won his last match,
crowning himself Arrowhead League Champion. I was that freshman, and that day I
realized wrestling was more than just a sport, it was a way of life.
Wrestling tracks back about fifteen thousand years and is one of the oldest form of
fighting. Wrestling made a first appearance in the 1986 Olympics. At the time it was
mainly just fighting but it had evolved and had rules added over the years. Wrestling
has changed but the heart of it has not.
Each country also had their own form of the sport. America had Greco Roman, and
Freestyle, while Russia had Sambo or pankration. You ask yourself why is there
so many different types of one sport, but it s the same reason why there are so
many different types of religions in the world, you were raised doing it a different
way. The top three wrestling styles I am going to cover is, Greco Roman, Freestyle,
and Folk style. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was the original Olympic sport and still is to this day two thousand years later. It
was mainly known for the flat hand wrestling because it focuses on throws rather
than the technique moves performed in other sports. The main goal of Greco is to
throw or expose the other opponents back gaining two or even three points when
doing so. This is why you see most Olympian wrestlers short and bulky because they
have the leverage to roll or throw their opponent. You can get disqualified like any
sport if you perform a dangerous move or one that is not controlled meaning you didn

Beethoven Accomplishments
Ludwig van Beethoven was born in 1770 in Bonn, Germany. He was raised in a
family of musicians, and his father sang and taught him how to play instruments. He
is one of many talented and admirable composers that are to be regarded when
deciding who was the greatest composer in European history. When considering the
greatest composer, it would have to be someone who had originality, natural talent,
and someone who put their all into their music. Beethoven possessed all of these
qualities, and is more than fitting for the title. Although he suffered from depression
and was quite closed off, Beethoven is the greatest composer in European history
because he developed his own style with his music, he had a natural gift, and he was
very passionate.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the Encyclopedia of World Biography, it says, (he) showed signs of unusual
originality and power . This quote expresses how he demonstrated skill at
composing and was able to give his music power from a very young age. When he
was only four years old, Beethoven s father taught him to play both violin and
clavier, and by the time he was eleven years old, he had composed three sonatas for
the piano. According to Ludwig van Beethoven , Ludwig van Beethoven s
contributions to the world of music and composition make him stand undeniably
among the most renowned and influential masters (DISCovering Biography). This
text is a great example of how Beethoven was incredibly influential in the musical
community, and by accomplishing so much at such a young age he must have had a
natural talent. In the book, Beethoven: Anguish and Triumph, it says, others were
inspired to feats of generosity for this brilliant but oblivious student (Swafford, 57).
Beethoven s teachers realized that he was going to become very successful, and he
that possessed a natural gift. In retrospect, Beethoven had an inborn talent for
understanding music and composing

Inherited Genetic Variations
Inherited genetic variations may result from new genetic combinations through
meiosis, nondisjunction errors occurring during cell division and through mutations
in the DNA of egg and sperm cells.
Meiosis is a cell division that results in four daughter cells. The daughter cells have
half the number of chromosomes of the parent cells. In meiosis the Law of
Independent Assortment states that the alleles of one gene sort in gametes
independently of the alleles of another gene. Meiosis increases inherited genetic
variation because during meiosis, homologous chromosomes each from one pair of
parents. The parents chromosomes cross over and and trade some genes when they
break apart. This recombination of forming together then breaking apart and
The Old Testament
In the Bible, there are many different kinds of ways to make sacrifice to God.
Mostly, God just ask for animal sacrifice. God has a mercy image. It seems that
human sacrifice are evil god s requirements. However, people could also find out
some records about human sacrifice in the Bible. In the book of Judges, Jephthah
has made a vow to God that he would burn the first person come out of his house to
meet him as an offering to God, he was going to make an human sacrificefor God. At
last, he killed his daughter indeed. In Genesis, God asked for a human sacrifice,
asked Abraham to burn his only son as an offering to God in order to test Abraham s
obedience. Fortunately, the angle of God stopped Abraham at last and kept his son
from hurt, which implies that God just wanted to test Abraham, not a human
sacrifice. As going through these plots in the Bible, how should people recognize the
human sacrifice in the Book of the Old Testament? Is it just the test from God? Or
God actually like human sacrifice? First, people should know what is the meaning
of sacrifice. According to the Bible, people could conclude that the sacrifice is the
way to atone for one s sin or thank God s blessing. In the Bible, people always
offered animals to wash their sin away and showed their thanks to God.
So, why Abraham almost offered his son? It seems that he did not have much sin or
need to thank God by offering his son. Although in the Bible, it recorded as a test
from God. God want to know that
Persuasive Essay On Building A New School
In recent (and not so recent) years, there has been many conversations about
reform throughout our school and county. This has obviously been somewhat of a
controversy in all layers of the local populus; among teachers, students, parents,
and other concerned members of the community. The reform bill was (in the
simplest terms) about whether or not to build a new school. While this would be
great in theory, even though I would not be able to enjoy it as I am graduating this
spring, I feel like it s possibly too much. If we would really like to reform this
school then we should focus not on building a completely new school, but instead
focus on fixing the one we have.
The number one best way of improving the school from the inside is focusing on the
small things first. Most people will have a different idea of the best place to start, but
I personally think that the best place is the restrooms.
In 1907 paper towels were invented for use in public restrooms to reduce the risk of
spreading illnesses spread by using normal cloth towels. While we obviously do not
have this issue anymore because we now have options for hand drying beyond a
communal cloth hand towel or even paper towels. Hand dryers came about more
recently, having only just under 70 years ago become popularized, advertised for
their water evaporating capabilities and for being more cost effective than paper
towels. The hype around hand dryers has only snowballed over these 70 years;
claims that hand dryers are
The Beauty Myth Phenomenon
We say to girls, you should aim to be successful, but not too successful, otherwise
you will threaten The Man. Spoke Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, an African author,
about the roles in society in 2013. The social roles between men and women were
clearly distinguished in the past. However, when the American men answered the call
to arms in the Second World War, it was the American women who took over their
roles in society. Subsequently, after feminism arose, females were achieving higher
rank at work and the beauty myth emerged in attempt to control their growing power
(Wolf 21). Engulfed with television and magazine advertisements, the beauty
importance issue was propagated drastically. Furthermore, they were shown the
perfect appearance they should aspire to; the ideal attitude toward society and
themselves they should possess. The old wisdom claims sexsells, and it proved itself
truthful over the time. Advertisingsends a powerful message to women about how
they should look and behave, which causes severe problems in society.
After the World War II ended, the War Manpower Commission hoped the women
would return to their social place again, but they were wrong (Wolf 63). Still, in
1950s female magazines redefined the housewife status, where the woman would
strive for perfection in being a terrific wife, mother and still handle the household
flawlessly (Wolf 64). Betty Friedan asked: Why it is never stated that the really
curtail function, the really important role
Funeral Decedent Essay
If I owned a funeral home and a family entrusted me with the care and preparation
of their loved one, I would add the decedent s vital and service information via the
funeral home s website for guest. If the decedent was part of a veteran organization
and a brief ceremony would be scheduled during visitation or service hours, the
information would be published in a newspaper obituary or added to an online
obituary for those wanting to attend.
If the decedent was part of a fraternal organization and the family wished to have a
non sectarian funeral service, which are similar to military funerals, the funeral
director must be advised during arrangements. The family must provide the DD
214 form, so the funeral home is aware of the branch the decedent belonged to and
could provide a U.S. flag to be draped over the casket during services. It becomes
the funeral professional s responsibility to coordinate the participation of the various
fraternal organizations in a funeral service (NACMS, p. 149). It is important for the
funeral director to work with all the people involved during a veteran s organization
funeral rite, including the clergy, post commander, and family, to make sure
everything goes according to plan. During a fraternal funeral ceremony, the
organization is able to provide full military honors, which might include either a 21
person funeral detail, or 21 one gun ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is my opinion that the fraternal order members are similar to a modified family

colleagues to initiate and participate in this modified family structure (Fritch Steward,

Use Of Irony In Don Quixote
Miguel de Cervantes novel, Don Quixote, is a touchstone for criticism on narrative
fiction that reorients criticism towards an emphasis on the formal over the thematic
and the playful over the solemn. A majority of the irony shown throughout this work
is portrayed through one of the main characters, Don Quixote, whom is an old
gentleman that attempts to put his fantasy ideas into action in a prosy world that
makes even the meanest intelligence crack a smile. But, as the reader further
analyzes the meaning of the text, it makes he or she question his or her own
frivolity. The reader begins to sympathize with Don Quixote because insanity
prevents him from seeing his reality as fake and inappropriate opposed to actual
social needs. Irony in Don... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This viewpoint depends on whether the reader is willing to take the good or bad
side of Don Quixote s crazy; it depends on whether the reader considers that Don
Quixote has the correct moral values with madness. An example of the theme of
honor that can be portrayed in an ironic way is when the narrator talks about Don
Quixote fighting the windmills, saying, So saying, and commending himself with
all his heart to his lady Dulcinea, imploring her to support him in such a peril, with
lance in rest and covered by his buckler, he charged at Rocinante s fullest gallop
and fell upon the first mill that stood in front of him, (I.VIII). This passage
portrays Don Quixote s valiance and determination towards Dulcinea as honorable
because he charges at the windmills with all of his might, but this passage is also
ironic because he is investing all of his honorable valiance and determination on
fake giants that are actually windmills. He contains a vast majority of the valiance it
takes to become a knight, but he is applying all of his energy in the wrong

Reproductive Rights Argumentative Analysis
Encompassing the specific points and pieces of the reproductive war that I have
discussed thus far, I believe that abortion and the reproductive rights umbrella is
indeed a feminist issue. In an era when reproductive rights are being especially
combated, as they are in the present (Murray, 301) feminists need to be clear and
fervent about where we stand and what we are fighting for. Though perhaps a very
controversial opinion, I believe that pro life women are counterproductive to this
fight. Jeanne Mancini, the President of the biggest anti abortionevent, the March for
Life, claims that she has talked to an substantial amount of women who have
regretted having an abortion. Many of these women label themselves as pro life
feminists and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
How is that honorable? In a lesser, subtler comparison to Mancini and the pro life
feminists, that is like saying that just because I regret getting a tattoo, I believe that
no one should be able to get one. In addition, the phrase pro life is often a misnomer.
March for Life labels itself as pro life but to indeed be pro life, the group in question
needs to equally care about all life that is involved in a pregnancy. This often is not
the case, as the unborn child s needs are considered and the mother s are not, or not
as much. Whether it is a man, a woman, or a woman who has labeled herself a pro
life feminist, they take away personal bodily autonomy from women. To imply or
outright claim that the rights of an undeveloped fetus are greater than the rights of a
woman to choose what happens in her own body is absurd, and to assume that a
woman is not capable of making an informed decision about her own body is nothing
more than misogyny, no matter who is against it. Therefore, abortion is absolutely a
feminist issue, as I believe it is impossible to simultaneously be a feminist and a
fervent anti abortion
Headscarves In France
Headscarves in France
In my research I want to look at the headscarf in France and how the French
government has made it difficult for Muslim women to integrate into society. France
has one of the highest Muslim populations standing at almost 8 percent of their nation
s population; that s almost 5 million Muslims (Caldwell, 2003). France s government
strongly supports the term laicite, which doesn t translate correctly in the English
language, but is similar to secularism (Bowen 2007, 2). Laicite means that the
French government keeps a neutral space for all people in order to ensure equality
for all. Headscarves and conspicuous symbols are considered to be disruptions of
neutral space (Caldwell, 2003). The headscarf ban in France ... Show more content on

He finds that over time the meaning and discussions of laicite have altered.
Through his discussions and observations of other scholars he discusses ways in
which people have talked about the French government and laicite in order to
justify the ban of the headscarf. In doing so he finds that the ban has been justified
in multiple ways those being: the discussion of the French as a Republic, France
remaining uniform, and the protection that the French government offers when it
defines religion (Bowen, 2007). He discusses how the French as a Republic has
created a system in which it deals with outsiders and concludes they do so by
teaching them how to conform to French society and ideals (Bowen 2007, 11).
The way Bowen describes these justifications support of one another. Because
France is referred to as a Republic, he emphasizes ways that the Republic has been
used to justify a uniformity of the people, which shows how the headscarf would
not coincide with these values. Another discussion he exemplifies is that often
used to ban the headscarf is the definition of religion. He interviews the chief of
organized religions in order to define religion and what it means in France (Bowen
2007, 16). Vianney Sevaistre explains to Bowen that religion is not protected under
French law only culte which means a mass, the structures, and its teachings (Bowen
2007, 17). Bowen uses popular discussion from direct sources in order to explain
the limit of protection under laicite. By interviewing people and talking with
scholars Bowen provides ways in which terms can be interpreted differently to
develop his writing and show that laicite and equality can carry different meanings
making it difficult for Muslim women and their fight for religious expression (2007).
Ways that laicite has been talked about and rights to a neutral space have created

Pair Of Tickets
It is unquestionable that numerous short stories in present day include topics
discussing the importance of family values and acknowledgement of culture. The
main factor that sets the two stories A Pair of Tickets and Flight Patterns apart from
countless is the fact that the two central characters are remarkably unique yet
strikingly relatable. In the story Flight Patterns the main characterWilliam, is a
Spokane Indian who embraces his culture and heritage. On the other hand, in A
Pair of Tickets the central character, Jing Mei, is a woman who genuinely did not
regard herself as Chinese for a majority of her life. The values of family and
importance of heritage are both exemplified in A Pair of Tickets and Flight Patterns
however,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The motif of family importance is strongly present in both novels. In Flight
Patterns the main character, William, travels frequently due to his job and often
times it is painful for William to leave his family. With that being said, William
demonstrates this pain by comparing leaving his daughter to hunting animals
During these mornings, he felt generic and violent, like some caveman leaving the
fire to hunt animals in the cold and dark. Maybe his hands were smooth and clean
but they felt bloody. (Alexie p 57). Similarly, in A Pair of Tickets the principle of
family is also predominating. With that being said, Jing Mei, openly speaks about
her uncertainties and hesitations towards meeting her twin half sisters. The
acceptance Jing Mei longs for by her sisters is overwhelming as she states When
they see it s just me, they ll hate me. (Tan p 305) This statement exemplifies just
how desperate Jing Mei is for her sister s acceptance towards her. Another theme
that is established in both stories is the acknowledgment and appreciation of
culture. With this specific theme, the principles meaning is drastically different
between William and Jing Mei. In Flight Patterns William, embraces his heritage
as a Spokane Indian and speaks fondly of his culture. For example, when William is
asked about his heritage he responds by stating I m that kind of Indian, but much
smarter, I am Spokane Indian. We re salmon people. Throughout the story, William
gives off the sentiment that he is proud to be apart of his heritage. In A Pair of
Tickets it is evident that from the beginning of the story Jing Mei feels disconnected
and almost incongruous in her Chinese heritage as she states Even without makeup, I
could never pass for true Chinese. (Tan p 305). In addition, Jing Mei does not express

The Outsider, by Albert Camus and The Assault, by Harry...
Camus and Mulisch present that the past and present are interrelated. The authors do
this through the two characters, Meursault and Anton. Through Meursault, we see
that his past actions affect the outcome of his trial. Through Anton, we see that his
present situation constantly brings him back to his pastdespite him trying to escape it.
Thus the authors stylistically link the past and presentto demonstrate that they are
inevitably related, where certain events are unavoidable or the past is undeniable.
In The Outsider , the society continually brings back Meursault s past actions against
his will, such as his behaviour at his mother s funeral. Under the rule of the French

Despite this, the society tries to fabricate or impose rational explanations of
Meursault s irrational action. This is evident during the trial process when the
prosecutor rationally explains for Meursault the series of event that happened,
although Meursault himself does not have a solid explanation for his actions. The
prosecutor explains it so well, that even Meursault himself finds it quite plausible .
Anton s past is brought back to him in a different way than Meursault. When Anton
meets Cor Takes he starts repainting the picture of the tragic night. It was fate that
brought Takes to Anton, allowing him to overhear Takes. This brought Anton s past
back to the present by discovering the motives of Takes and was the first timethat he
had cried over what had happened. Before this, he was able to put the past behind
him but was never able to escape it. When it was brought back to him, Takes words
reaches into his heart, and was why he cried. Mulisch shows aspects of the past will
always catch up with the present and it is inescapable. Eventually, Anton comes to
realize that he can never fully escape the past and has to accept the whole truth in
order to find closure and experience true forgetting . Anton thought, ... of how
everything comes to light sooner or later. In time, he would have had to face the truth

Essay Legal Police Searches
The laws of the United States can be hard to understand sometimes. The Fourth
Amendment states that people have a right not to be searched without a
reasonable warrant and that people have a right to feel secure in their homes.
There are acts giving police permission to do what ever they need to to keep drunks
off the streets. There are also rules and regulations, kind of like a sports game, and,
just like games, there are always ways to get around these rules. Like finding it legal
to randomly stop cars to give people breathalyzer tests, or entering people s homes
and searching for things without a warrant. Unlike a game however, the results of
going around these rules can sometimes be devastating. Policemay ruin a home trying

For that reason, I believe police should have the right to stop cars for the testing. I
don t think that people should get mad at the government if they pass the law because
it is there to help them. If the people getting stopped aren t drunk, well, what s the
problem? Why do they need to get mad? They aren t the ones getting arrested.
Police are here to see that common people follow the laws. One day, not too long
ago, police came into Dollree Map s house without a search warrant and trashed it,
looking for a bomb suspect. Finding nothing to that affect, the police realized they
had the wrong house, but during their search for the suspect, they found some
quot;obscene material. quot; They arrested Map because of that. Map went to
court and appealed. In the end, justice had been served because the quot;material
quot; the police obtained was illegally obtained, making the case end. The rule that
saved Map was the Exclusionary Rule stating that anything police find that does
not have anything to do with what the search warrant says has to be excluded from
the case. The question here is should people allow police to go into their homes
and search for whatever they want without a warrant? The answer is no. First of
all, when the police do come to a house, they don t just politely knock and wait for
somebody to answer. They break down the door and make a mess of the house. If
people are innocent, why should they have to get their door knocked down

Rock And Roll History
The begins of rock and roll have always been challenged as to when they were first
established. The most common argument is that is first started in Southern United
states, the birth place of many of the first early rock and roll music hits. As the south
always had a huge majority of slaves from Africa and immigrants from Europe,
through the gathering of different influences that created a connection between
African musical traditions with European instrumentation. Immigration of once
slaves to populated urban centers including New York City and Chicago meant that
both the black and white communities were living in close proximity, resulting in
hearing each other s music and even began to follow and impersonate each other s
fashions .

Steve Mcqueen s Hunger
I believe that art is meant to push viewers to ask questions, and to jolt them out of
their comfort zones and offer them food for thoughts as well as their spirits. In
order to keep viewers on their toes, I believe an artwork that seems to parallel the
local values on the surface and yet, would starkly contrast them with its content,
would not only be effective but powerful. I chose Steve McQueen s Hunger
(2008), because I believe that content of this film would contrast the Lotus Eater
lifestyle inherent to Kelowna city and the Okanagan in general. The film industry
does parallel these ideals of escapism, usually by homogenizing dreams and
fantasies. However, Hunger serve as a great argument in favour of film as an art
form as opposed to a mere idle form of entertainment. It is a great reminder that
film, as a very potent art form, can have lasting effect and consequences on a
massive scale because it can affect the way we speak of our humanity in political
spheres. The reasons why I think the Lotus Eater lifestyle is inherent... Show more

Skin thins and collagen that once held your face firm and taut begins to break
down. Combat the signs of aging by implementing simple changes to your lifestyle
and skin care regime. Follow the seven anti aging skin care tips to reduce the speed
at which your skin shows age, and minimize the occurrence of wrinkles and fine
lines. Anti aging skin care begins by moisturizing your skin Use a moisturizer as a
part of your every day facial cleansing routine, regardless of your age. Prevention is
the best protection against aging. Products that effectively deliver vitamin C to
the skin encourage your skins natural production of collagen. Invest wisely in
moisturizers that feel light and are absorbed into the skins surface. Otherwise, you
are using a protective product that simply sits on the skin. You need a skin care
moisturizer to provide hydration beneath the top layer of skin. Greasy
moisturizers are also more likely to clog pores, increasing the potential for
blackheads and pimples. If you are beginning to show signs of aging, amp up your
moisturizer to an anti aging skin cream or anti aging serum. Common sense anti
aging skin care: Eat a healthy, well balanced diet Your skin is your body s largest
organ and is affected by the food you eat. Foods rich in vitamin C and E may help
the skins production of collagen. A healthy, well balanced diet filled with fruits
and green leafy vegetables will be reflected in lustrous, healthy looking skin.
Likewise, a poor diet will be reflected by dull, pasty skin. Diet plays an important role
in your quest for anti aging skin care. Stop smoking You are already aware of the
dangers to your body caused by smoking. This is just a reminder that smoking
causes your skin to age faster. It can also clog pores, leading to dull, dead skin cells
and blemishes. If your goal is anti aging skin care, drop the cigarettes. It s easier said
than done, but you have a choice to make. Inexpensive

Artificial Intelligence. Essay
Artificial Intelligence: Cognitive Ability or Information Processing Computers have
become an integral part of our everyday lives. We rely upon these machines to
perform innumerable tasks that we often take for granted. Most people realize that
computers are able to perform the multitude of functions as a consequence of the
programming they receive. These programs give computers a set of instructions that
governs their transition from one information processing state to another. Thus,
computational machines are able to respond to a certain set of inputs with a certain
range of outputs. In order to comprehend programs one needs only to describe these
instructions in functional terms. In this regard, computer programs are extremely

In Searle s opinion, computers can never be minds because they are inherently
different from brains. He argues that brains do not merely instantiate a program but
also cause mental events by virtue of specific neuro biological processes. Searle is
essentially making the contention that brains, by virtue of their specific biochemical
properties, cause minds. Consequently, according to Searle, any artifact that produced
mental phenomena would have to be able to duplicate the specific causal powers of
brains and it could not do that just by running a formal computer program. Although
it is interesting to contemplate, Searle s argument definitely has its share of flaws.
The Churchlands, as proponents in the possibility of artificial intelligence to
duplicate the mind, (yet not believers of strong AI as it was previously defined ) do
their best to illustrate these weaknesses in his theory. The primary objection which
they have with Searle s argument against the plausibility of artificial intelligence lies
with the third premise in his original proof. The Churchlands argue that this premise,
which states, Syntax by itself is neither constitutive of nor sufficient for semantics, is
an assumption rather than a fact. Additionally, they contend that to assume its truth is
tantamount to begging the question against classical AI. Classical AI rests on the
premise that if one can
Karl Marxs Estranged Labor Essay
Karl Marx s Estranged Labor nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;In Karl Marx s early
writing on quot;estranged labor quot; there is a clear and prevailing focus on the
plight of the laborer. Marx s writing on estranged labor is an attempt to draw a stark
distinction between property owners and workers. In the writing Marx argues that
the worker becomes estranged from his labor because he is not the recipient of the
product he creates. As a result labor is objectified, that is labor becomes the object
of mans existence. As labor is objectified man becomes disillusioned and enslaved.
Marx argues that man becomes to be viewed as a commodity worth only the labor

Because the worker is denied any nurturing in his work no intimacy between the
worker and his work develops. Lacking an intimate relation with what he creates
man is summarily estranged from his labor. (2) Labor estranges man from himself.
Marx argues that the labor the worker produces does not belong to him, but to
someone else. Given this condition the laborer belongs to someone else and is
therefore enslaved. As a result of being enslaved the worker is reduced to a
quot;subsisting animal quot;, a condition alien to him. As an end result man is
estranged from himself and is entirely mortified. Marx points to these to situations
as the reason man is essentially estranged from his labor. The incongruency
between the world of things the worker creates and the world the worker lives in is
the estrangement. nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;Marx argues that the worker first
realizes he is estranged from his labor when it is apparent he cannot attain what he
appropriates. As a result of this realization the objectification of labor occurs. For
the worker the labor becomes an object, something shapeless and unidentifiable.
Because labor is objectified, the laborer begins to identify the product of labor as
labor. In other words all the worker can identify as a product of his labor,

most important reasons why we should move further west is the hundreds of

incorporating the needs of disabled individuals into the buildings, schools, and
businesses. The primary principles of Universal Design are equitable use,
flexibility, simplicity, perceptible information, forgiveness of mistakes, decreased
physical effort, and space. Some examples of this practice are ramps, Braille signs,
lower desks and tables, and wider hallways. This can be applied in an educational
context by making classrooms and learning spaces accessible to all students. Students
with disabilities would be able to focus on their education rather than how they are

All individuals must face oppression, stereotypes, and limitations. An example of
this in the reading was Jason Kingsley. Jason was born with down syndrome and
has struggled his whole life with society telling him what he is unable to do. When
he was born the doctors told his family that he couldn t learn, form relationships, or
carry out a normal life, however in response Jason has proved all this incorrect. He
has a job, writes, makes friends, takes public transportation, and has traveled to
other countries. This wasn t always easy since many employers don t always hire
disabled individuals or know how to act around them. I believe that all disabled
people struggle with this kind of discrimination however the obstacles or
disabilities people face vary. Disabilities can be caused by genetics, chemical
imbalances, traumas, or accidents. They can challenge learning, senses, mental
health, or physical abilities. Another example in the reading was the story of
Edward Murphy. Edward developed PTSD after a bomb exploded when he was
deployed in Iraq and struggles with severe anxiety due to this. Unlike Jason,
Murphy wasn t born with a disability but developed it during life. Murphy also has
more opportunities to (in a way) reverse his disability or at least reduce the affect
that it has in his

Effects Of Rumor On Rumor Transmission
Rumors are a piece of everyday life; they zoom across the workplace, fly in the
streets, and dash across the internet. According to DiFonzo, Rumors are unverified
information statements that circulate about topics that people perceive as
important... used by people attempting to make sense or to manage risk (241).
Rumors are created to satisfy the emotional wants and needs of a specific group of
people and because of these wants and needs, people reject certain truths and facts
that contradict their ideologyand worldview. Belief and anxietyhave a direct
relationship to rumor transmission due to a persons wants and needs, propaganda,
ideology, bias assimilation, and cognitive dissonance. In Pezzo and Becksteads A
Multilevel Analysis of Rumor Transmission , the psychologists find that rumor
anxiety and situational anxiety have an effect on rumor transmission. If anxiety is
associated with a rumor, people are likely to pass it on because they believe the rumor
themselves. DiFonzo declares that rumors arise in times when there is a threat or
potential threat because questions are unanswered, information is missing, or there is
no clear communication (243). According to Pezzo and Beckstead, there are three
types of anxiety: situational anxiety, rumor specific anxiety, and trait anxiety.
Situational anxiety is when situations produce more anxiety than others, rumor
specific anxiety is when topics themselves cause more anxiety than others, and trait
anxiety is when a few
Disadvantages Of Ant Colony Optimization
Abstract In this paper an efficient hybrid optimization approach is used to solve the
optimal power flow problem. In the proposed approach particle swarm optimization
along with ant colony optimization is used for setting of control variables for optimal
power flow problem. The proposed approach is tested and examined in standard IEEE
30 bus test system. The various objective functions involved are fuel cost
minimization, voltage profile improvement and transmission loss reduction. This
proposed approach overcomes the disadvantages of ant colony optimizationsuch as
premature convergence and stagnating output. Keywords voltage stability; fuel cost;
loss; optimal power flow; optimization;PSO;ACO.

ANT COLONY OPTIMIZATION Ant colony optimization (ACO) is an evolutionary
and adaptive algorithm that was introduced by Marco Dorigo in 1992.This ant colony
optimization algorithm is inspired by behavior of real ant colonies. The ant when
searching food move in random direction.Once the ant finds the food source,it
evaluates the quantity and quality of food.It takes certain amount of food to the
nest.During this process, the ant deposits a chemical called pheromone as a trail on
the ground during the return path. The quantity of pheromone deposited is based on
the quantity and quality of the food available.HEnce this would guide other ants
towards the food providing an indirect communication. The pheromone trails allows
the ants to identify the shortest path between the ant nest and the food source. This
above technique is used for optimization
Canada s Role During The World Since 1945
Benjamin Salebaigi
Canada s Role in the world since 1945
Canada has played a big role in the world since 1945 and this role has continued to
this very day. Canada is still to this day being viewed as a peacekeeping nation
because of its efforts and contributions in organizations like the United Nations,
NATO and NORAD. These have given Canada a bigger and more important role in
the world.Canada has made considerable contributions in organizations such as the
UN, NATO and NORAD. The United Nations, is a organization that promotes
social and economic progress and also focuses on peace world wide. The North
Atlantic Treaty Organization, or NATO, was formed in 1949 and was focused on
protecting Western European countries from a possible of invasion by the Soviet
Union. The North American Defence System, or NORAD, was an agreement created
in 1957 between Canada and the United States. This agreement was made to stop
the threat of Soviet attack on North America. The United Nations was formed in
April of 1945 and consisted of 50 countries that all shared the same ideals and basic
goals. The four basic goals of the United Nations are; maintaining world peace and
preventing future wars; improving the standard of living for all countries and
encouraging cooperation among nations as well as defending human rights and
helping to promote equality. Canada has really played an important role in the

Resistance To Civil Government By Frederick Douglass
Many events in contemporary history shed light on how great and grave the issue
of racism is in the United States. Writings from the beginning of the country also
show the struggle of racism and the effects it had on the religious, political and
social aspects of the culture. In very recent days, protests across the country
highlight the American peoples ability and right to a civil protest as well as prove
that racism is still an issue that must be dealt with. The themes in the works
Resistance to Civil Government by Henry Thoreau and What to the Slave is the
Fourth of July by Frederick Douglass are highlighted and proven relevant by the
recent tragic police shootings, civil protests and the loss of innocent lives in
Louisiana, Minnesota... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thoreau s approach does not seem to be enough as there are many citizens that
have simply washed their hands of the racism and do not participate. However, this
inaction has allowed it to fester and explode in radical proportions across the
country. Thoreau s words of not asking for no government but a better system are
words of great wisdom. The struggle that the American people face is the same that
Douglass and others faced: what can be done to stop the racism? Many movements
have taken to peaceful protests to raise awareness and to call people from inaction
to action. Some members of the government have tried to implement policies but yet
racism still fills the streets. The American government will need to focus on
educating and being proactive with the youth of America to get rid of the hateful
racism in parts of the country. Taking Douglass s approach of real action in
educating people on why racism is wrong will be much more effective that simply
sitting back and not partaking in racism which mirrors the approach of

Many colleges that offer Hospitality Management may also include the option to
enroll within a specific concentration, so that you may gain a specialty . Therefore
it s important to have a sense of what area of hospitality you are interested in, so
that you enroll yourself into an appropriate program, including programs where
graduates have been able to secure employment in your interested field and location.
For example, if you have the desire to work as a ski lodge manager, you may want to
make sure you enroll into a school that provides the focus of the hotel industry and
potential internship opportunities within ski country vs. the beaches in Florida.
In effort to continue a higher learning education within the field of Hospitality,
which may increase my career options as I enter the workforce, I have reviewed
three colleges within the New York State area that provides a Bachelor s degree
within Hospitality Management. The purpose of this evaluation and comparison is to

Essay On Behavior

  • 1. Essay On Behavior Writing an essay on the topic of behavior can be both intriguing and challenging. The difficulty lies in navigating the vast and intricate landscape of human behavior, encompassing psychological, sociological, and biological dimensions. The multifaceted nature of this subject demands a comprehensive understanding of various theories, research findings, and real-world examples. Crafting an insightful essay on behavior requires a careful balance between theoretical concepts and practical applications. It involves delving into the complexities of human nature, exploring the interplay of genetics, environment, and individual experiences that shape behavior. One must critically analyze different perspectives, ranging from classical behaviorism to contemporary cognitive and social theories. Moreover, addressing the ethical considerations associated with studying and interpreting behavior adds another layer of complexity. Discussing sensitive topics such as cultural influences, societal norms, and the impact of technology on behavior necessitates a nuanced approach. Writers must navigate the potential pitfalls of stereotyping and oversimplification while providing a well-rounded view of the subject. Structuring the essay also poses a challenge, as it requires organizing diverse information coherently and presenting arguments logically. Choosing the right balance between empirical evidence and theoretical frameworks is essential to constructing a compelling narrative. In conclusion, tackling an essay on behavior is a demanding task that requires a deep understanding of psychological, sociological, and biological principles. The writer must skillfully weave together various strands of knowledge, presenting a nuanced and insightful exploration of the topic. For those seeking assistance with essays on a similar topic or any other academic writing needs, professional services like HelpWriting.net can provide support. The Power of the Family in White Noise Essay examples The Power of the Family in White Noise Don Dellilo s protagonist in his novel White Noise, Jack Gladney, has a nuclear family that is, ostensibly, a prime example of the disjointed nature way of the family of the 80 s and 90 s what with Jack s multiple past marriages and the fact that his children aren t all related. It s basically the antipodal image of the 1950 s nuclear family. Despite this surface level disjointedness, it is his family and the extrasensory rapport that he shares with them allows Jack to survive in his world. Murray, Jack s friend, argues that The family is strongest where objective reality is most likely to be misinterpreted (82). Heinrich, Jack s son, explicates this notion in his constant ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... So in recounting the smell of panties etc., and viewing such encounters with either irony, sympathy and fond amusement, Jack is able not only to affirm the present and escape the past, but accomplishes something much larger: namely the ability to affirm the realness of such feelings. Thus the family, in this instance Babette, serves as the medium through which Jack is able to overcome Heinrich s skepticism (which is representative of modern science (24)) as to the reality of human emotions. DeLillo s image, moreover, of Jack and Babette rescuing themselves from the past also suggests that without family or someone to commune with, man can become lost in the past. DeLillo s novel is almost obsessively concerned with appliances: TVs, radios, microwaves etc. They are omnipresent, not only in the characters worlds but within the narrative itself. DeLillo repeatedly interrupts his narrative with sentences like The TV said: And other trends that could dramatically impact our portfolio (61) or MasterCard, Visa, American Express (100) or That chirping sound was just the radiator (94). Just as Jack s world is one suffused with such objects, so too is the narrative, a technique which DeLillo uses to force the reader into Jack Gladney s world. Objects play a dualistic role in Jack s familial life. Jack tells us that

I was that freshman, and that day I realized wrestling was more than just a sport, it was a way of life. Wrestling tracks back about fifteen thousand years and is one of the oldest form of fighting. Wrestling made a first appearance in the 1986 Olympics. At the time it was mainly just fighting but it had evolved and had rules added over the years. Inherited Genetic Variations Inherited genetic variations may result from new genetic combinations through meiosis, nondisjunction errors occurring during cell division and through mutations in the DNA of egg and sperm cells. Meiosis is a cell division that results in four daughter cells. • 11. The Old Testament In the Bible, there are many different kinds of ways to make sacrifice to God. Mostly, God just ask for animal sacrifice. God has a mercy image. It seems that human sacrifice are evil god s requirements. However, people could also find out some records about human sacrifice in the Bible. In the book of Judges, Jephthah has made a vow to God that he would burn the first person come out of his house to meet him as an offering to God, he was going to make an human sacrificefor God. At last, he killed his daughter indeed. In Genesis, God asked for a human sacrifice, asked Abraham to burn his only son as an offering to God in order to test Abraham s obedience. Fortunately, the angle of God stopped Abraham at last and kept his son from hurt, which implies that God just wanted to test Abraham, not a human sacrifice. As going through these plots in the Bible, how should people recognize the human sacrifice in the Book of the Old Testament? Is it just the test from God? Or God actually like human sacrifice? First, people should know what is the meaning of sacrifice. According to the Bible, people could conclude that the sacrifice is the way to atone for one s sin or thank God s blessing. In the Bible, people always offered animals to wash their sin away and showed their thanks to God. So, why Abraham almost offered his son? It seems that he did not have much sin or need to thank God by offering his son. Although in the Bible, it recorded as a test from God. God want to know that
  • 12. Persuasive Essay On Building A New School In recent (and not so recent) years, there has been many conversations about reform throughout our school and county. This has obviously been somewhat of a controversy in all layers of the local populus; among teachers, students, parents, and other concerned members of the community. The reform bill was (in the simplest terms) about whether or not to build a new school. While this would be great in theory, even though I would not be able to enjoy it as I am graduating this spring, I feel like it s possibly too much. If we would really like to reform this school then we should focus not on building a completely new school, but instead focus on fixing the one we have. The number one best way of improving the school from the inside is focusing on the small things first. Most people will have a different idea of the best place to start, but I personally think that the best place is the restrooms. In 1907 paper towels were invented for use in public restrooms to reduce the risk of spreading illnesses spread by using normal cloth towels. While we obviously do not have this issue anymore because we now have options for hand drying beyond a communal cloth hand towel or even paper towels. Hand dryers came about more recently, having only just under 70 years ago become popularized, advertised for their water evaporating capabilities and for being more cost effective than paper towels. The hype around hand dryers has only snowballed over these 70 years; claims that hand dryers are

However, when the American men answered the call to arms in the Second World War, it was the American women who took over their roles in society. Subsequently, after feminism arose, females were achieving higher rank at work and the beauty myth emerged in attempt to control their growing power (Wolf 21). Engulfed with television and magazine advertisements, the beauty importance issue was propagated drastically. Furthermore, they were shown the perfect appearance they should aspire to; the ideal attitude toward society and themselves they should possess. The old wisdom claims sexsells, and it proved itself truthful over the time. After the World War II ended, the War Manpower Commission hoped the women would return to their social place again, but they were wrong (Wolf 63). • 14. Funeral Decedent Essay If I owned a funeral home and a family entrusted me with the care and preparation of their loved one, I would add the decedent s vital and service information via the funeral home s website for guest. If the decedent was part of a veteran organization and a brief ceremony would be scheduled during visitation or service hours, the information would be published in a newspaper obituary or added to an online obituary for those wanting to attend. If the decedent was part of a fraternal organization and the family wished to have a non sectarian funeral service, which are similar to military funerals, the funeral director must be advised during arrangements. The family must provide the DD 214 form, so the funeral home is aware of the branch the decedent belonged to and could provide a U.S. flag to be draped over the casket during services. It becomes the funeral professional s responsibility to coordinate the participation of the various fraternal organizations in a funeral service (NACMS, p. 149). It is important for the funeral director to work with all the people involved during a veteran s organization funeral rite, including the clergy, post commander, and family, to make sure everything goes according to plan. Use Of Irony In Don Quixote Miguel de Cervantes novel, Don Quixote, is a touchstone for criticism on narrative fiction that reorients criticism towards an emphasis on the formal over the thematic and the playful over the solemn. A majority of the irony shown throughout this work is portrayed through one of the main characters, Don Quixote, whom is an old gentleman that attempts to put his fantasy ideas into action in a prosy world that makes even the meanest intelligence crack a smile. This viewpoint depends on whether the reader is willing to take the good or bad side of Don Quixote s crazy; it depends on whether the reader considers that Don Quixote has the correct moral values with madness. An example of the theme of honor that can be portrayed in an ironic way is when the narrator talks about Don Quixote fighting the windmills, saying, So saying, and commending himself with all his heart to his lady Dulcinea, imploring her to support him in such a peril, with lance in rest and covered by his buckler, he charged at Rocinante s fullest gallop and fell upon the first mill that stood in front of him, (I.VIII). This passage portrays Don Quixote s valiance and determination towards Dulcinea as honorable because he charges at the windmills with all of his might, but this passage is also ironic because he is investing all of his honorable valiance and determination on fake giants that are actually windmills. He contains a vast majority of the valiance it takes to become a knight, but he is applying all of his energy in the wrong

This new space is God s gift to the city of Richmond. It s also a place where Revival Community Church can begin again the work of God; a new opportunity for the church to raise up the people of God in this important city. And this evening, as we dedicate this new church space to God, we dedicate ourselves also, praying that on the foundation of His love and truth, God will continue to build in us new lives, new hope, and new promises. As we dedicate this church and begin its life afresh, we are set apart by God to spread the Gospel by proclaiming Jesus Christ to this city as we are empowered by the Holy Spirit. Reproductive Rights Argumentative Analysis Encompassing the specific points and pieces of the reproductive war that I have discussed thus far, I believe that abortion and the reproductive rights umbrella is indeed a feminist issue. In an era when reproductive rights are being especially combated, as they are in the present (Murray, 301) feminists need to be clear and fervent about where we stand and what we are fighting for. Though perhaps a very controversial opinion, I believe that pro life women are counterproductive to this fight. Jeanne Mancini, the President of the biggest anti abortionevent, the March for Life, claims that she has talked to an substantial amount of women who have regretted having an abortion. Many of these women label themselves as pro life feminists and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... How is that honorable? In a lesser, subtler comparison to Mancini and the pro life feminists, that is like saying that just because I regret getting a tattoo, I believe that no one should be able to get one. In addition, the phrase pro life is often a misnomer. March for Life labels itself as pro life but to indeed be pro life, the group in question needs to equally care about all life that is involved in a pregnancy. This often is not the case, as the unborn child s needs are considered and the mother s are not, or not as much. Whether it is a man, a woman, or a woman who has labeled herself a pro life feminist, they take away personal bodily autonomy from women. To imply or outright claim that the rights of an undeveloped fetus are greater than the rights of a woman to choose what happens in her own body is absurd, and to assume that a woman is not capable of making an informed decision about her own body is nothing more than misogyny, no matter who is against it. Therefore, abortion is absolutely a feminist issue, as I believe it is impossible to simultaneously be a feminist and a fervent anti abortion

Headscarves In France Headscarves in France In my research I want to look at the headscarf in France and how the French government has made it difficult for Muslim women to integrate into society. France has one of the highest Muslim populations standing at almost 8 percent of their nation s population; that s almost 5 million Muslims (Caldwell, 2003). France s government strongly supports the term laicite, which doesn t translate correctly in the English language, but is similar to secularism (Bowen 2007, 2). Laicite means that the French government keeps a neutral space for all people in order to ensure equality for all. Headscarves and conspicuous symbols are considered to be disruptions of neutral space (Caldwell, 2003). The headscarf ban in France ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He finds that over time the meaning and discussions of laicite have altered. Through his discussions and observations of other scholars he discusses ways in which people have talked about the French government and laicite in order to justify the ban of the headscarf. In doing so he finds that the ban has been justified in multiple ways those being: the discussion of the French as a Republic, France remaining uniform, and the protection that the French government offers when it defines religion (Bowen, 2007). He discusses how the French as a Republic has created a system in which it deals with outsiders and concludes they do so by teaching them how to conform to French society and ideals (Bowen 2007, 11). The way Bowen describes these justifications support of one another. Because France is referred to as a Republic, he emphasizes ways that the Republic has been used to justify a uniformity of the people, which shows how the headscarf would not coincide with these values. Another discussion he exemplifies is that often used to ban the headscarf is the definition of religion. He interviews the chief of organized religions in order to define religion and what it means in France (Bowen 2007, 16). Vianney Sevaistre explains to Bowen that religion is not protected under French law only culte which means a mass, the structures, and its teachings (Bowen 2007, 17). Bowen uses popular discussion from direct sources in order to explain the limit of protection under laicite. By interviewing people and talking with scholars Bowen provides ways in which terms can be interpreted differently to develop his writing and show that laicite and equality can carry different meanings making it difficult for Muslim women and their fight for religious expression (2007). Ways that laicite has been talked about and rights to a neutral space have created

The motif of family importance is strongly present in both novels. In Flight Patterns the main character, William, travels frequently due to his job and often times it is painful for William to leave his family. With that being said, William demonstrates this pain by comparing leaving his daughter to hunting animals During these mornings, he felt generic and violent, like some caveman leaving the fire to hunt animals in the cold and dark. Maybe his hands were smooth and clean but they felt bloody. (Alexie p 57). Similarly, in A Pair of Tickets the principle of family is also predominating. With that being said, Jing Mei, openly speaks about her uncertainties and hesitations towards meeting her twin half sisters. The acceptance Jing Mei longs for by her sisters is overwhelming as she states When they see it s just me, they ll hate me. (Tan p 305) This statement exemplifies just how desperate Jing Mei is for her sister s acceptance towards her. Another theme that is established in both stories is the acknowledgment and appreciation of culture. With this specific theme, the principles meaning is drastically different between William and Jing Mei. In Flight Patterns William, embraces his heritage as a Spokane Indian and speaks fondly of his culture. For example, when William is asked about his heritage he responds by stating I m that kind of Indian, but much smarter, I am Spokane Indian. We re salmon people. Throughout the story, William gives off the sentiment that he is proud to be apart of his heritage. In A Pair of Tickets it is evident that from the beginning of the story Jing Mei feels disconnected and almost incongruous in her Chinese heritage as she states Even without makeup, I could never pass for true Chinese. One day, not too long ago, police came into Dollree Map s house without a search warrant and trashed it, looking for a bomb suspect. Finding nothing to that affect, the police realized they had the wrong house, but during their search for the suspect, they found some quot;obscene material. quot; They arrested Map because of that. The question here is should people allow police to go into their homes and search for whatever they want without a warrant? The answer is no. • 29. Steve Mcqueen s Hunger I believe that art is meant to push viewers to ask questions, and to jolt them out of their comfort zones and offer them food for thoughts as well as their spirits. In order to keep viewers on their toes, I believe an artwork that seems to parallel the local values on the surface and yet, would starkly contrast them with its content, would not only be effective but powerful. I chose Steve McQueen s Hunger (2008), because I believe that content of this film would contrast the Lotus Eater lifestyle inherent to Kelowna city and the Okanagan in general. The film industry does parallel these ideals of escapism, usually by homogenizing dreams and fantasies. However, Hunger serve as a great argument in favour of film as an art form as opposed to a mere idle form of entertainment. It is a great reminder that film, as a very potent art form, can have lasting effect and consequences on a massive scale because it can affect the way we speak of our humanity in political spheres. Combat the signs of aging by implementing simple changes to your lifestyle and skin care regime. Follow the seven anti aging skin care tips to reduce the speed at which your skin shows age, and minimize the occurrence of wrinkles and fine lines. Anti aging skin care begins by moisturizing your skin Use a moisturizer as a part of your every day facial cleansing routine, regardless of your age. Prevention is the best protection against aging. Products that effectively deliver vitamin C to the skin encourage your skins natural production of collagen. Invest wisely in moisturizers that feel light and are absorbed into the skins surface. Otherwise, you are using a protective product that simply sits on the skin. You need a skin care moisturizer to provide hydration beneath the top layer of skin. Greasy moisturizers are also more likely to clog pores, increasing the potential for blackheads and pimples. If you are beginning to show signs of aging, amp up your moisturizer to an anti aging skin cream or anti aging serum. Common sense anti aging skin care: Eat a healthy, well balanced diet Your skin is your body s largest organ and is affected by the food you eat. Foods rich in vitamin C and E may help the skins production of collagen. We rely upon these machines to perform innumerable tasks that we often take for granted. Most people realize that computers are able to perform the multitude of functions as a consequence of the programming they receive. These programs give computers a set of instructions that governs their transition from one information processing state to another. Thus, computational machines are able to respond to a certain set of inputs with a certain range of outputs. In order to comprehend programs one needs only to describe these instructions in functional terms. In this regard, computer programs are extremely similar... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Searle s opinion, computers can never be minds because they are inherently different from brains. He argues that brains do not merely instantiate a program but also cause mental events by virtue of specific neuro biological processes. Searle is essentially making the contention that brains, by virtue of their specific biochemical properties, cause minds. Consequently, according to Searle, any artifact that produced mental phenomena would have to be able to duplicate the specific causal powers of brains and it could not do that just by running a formal computer program. Although it is interesting to contemplate, Searle s argument definitely has its share of flaws. The Churchlands, as proponents in the possibility of artificial intelligence to duplicate the mind, (yet not believers of strong AI as it was previously defined ) do their best to illustrate these weaknesses in his theory. The primary objection which they have with Searle s argument against the plausibility of artificial intelligence lies with the third premise in his original proof. The Churchlands argue that this premise, which states, Syntax by itself is neither constitutive of nor sufficient for semantics, is an assumption rather than a fact. Additionally, they contend that to assume its truth is tantamount to begging the question against classical AI. Classical AI rests on the premise that if one can

Marx s writing on estranged labor is an attempt to draw a stark distinction between property owners and workers. In the writing Marx argues that the worker becomes estranged from his labor because he is not the recipient of the product he creates. As a result labor is objectified, that is labor becomes the object of mans existence. As labor is objectified man becomes disillusioned and enslaved. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Because the worker is denied any nurturing in his work no intimacy between the worker and his work develops. Lacking an intimate relation with what he creates man is summarily estranged from his labor. (2) Labor estranges man from himself. Marx argues that the labor the worker produces does not belong to him, but to someone else. Given this condition the laborer belongs to someone else and is therefore enslaved. As a result of being enslaved the worker is reduced to a quot;subsisting animal quot;, a condition alien to him. As an end result man is estranged from himself and is entirely mortified. Marx points to these to situations as the reason man is essentially estranged from his labor. The incongruency between the world of things the worker creates and the world the worker lives in is the estrangement. nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;Marx argues that the worker first realizes he is estranged from his labor when it is apparent he cannot attain what he appropriates. As a result of this realization the objectification of labor occurs. For the worker the labor becomes an object, something shapeless and unidentifiable. Because labor is objectified, the laborer begins to identify the product of labor as labor. In other words all the worker can identify as a product of his labor,
