Well In Sense And Sensibility
Well in Sense and Sensibility, a novel whose story revolves around two sisters: Elinor and
Marianne Dashwood, the Dashwood family is left with a little fortune after their father dies. The
story takes place in the eighteenth century where money and social class were the most important
things along with gaining property. So, when Elinor and Marianne answered the question: What
have wealth or grandeur have to do with happiness? (122) there responds are to different point of
views.
The background of the novel from where I m coming from is that their father, Henry Dashwood,
dies at the beginning of the story and his property is passed down to John Dashwood, the step
brother of Elinor and Marianne, and his wife Fanny. Their father last wish is ... Show more content

Willoughby is an enchanting gentleman who truly impresses Marianne off her feet after she has
fallen in a rainstorm. He shares Marianne s sensibility and artistic tastes, and the two rapidly turn
out to be close. When ask the question What have wealth or grandeur have to do with happiness? ,
he would likely have answered with rudeness and probably be insensitive. After fallen in love with
Marianne, he suddenly goes to London abandoning her and her feelings towards him. At the point
when Marianne sees him there, he disregards her and claims that he was never romantically
attached to her. Marianne is forcing to reconsider the character of the man she thought she knew
and cherished. When his aunt Mrs. Smith disinherits him, he is desperate for wealth so he marries
Miss Grey for her money.
Edward Ferras, the brother of Fanny Dashwood, is a kind, honorable, and weird guy. Wealth
doesn t have nothing to do with his happiness, because at the end of the novel he married Elinor
who doesn t have money, even though he is secretly engaged to Lucy which turns out to be
loveless towards her. He prioritizes duty and responsibility over money, as is shown when he to

Revolutions And The French Revolution
Revolutions are a common occurrence throughout world history. With the amount of revolutions in
history, there are those that get lost and those that are the most remembered or well known. One
of the well known revolutions is the French Revolution which occurred in the years 1789 to 1799.
Before the French Revolution, France was ruled by an absolute monarchy, this meaning that one
ruler had the supreme authority and that said authority was not restricted by any written laws,
legislature, or customs, a definition given by wikipedia.com and the feudal system, which was a
system that said a peasant or worker would receive a piece of land in return for serving under a
king, a definition given by vocabulary.com. Those who opposed the, then... Show more content on

Also during the Great Fear, commoners not only looted but also burned down the houses of tax
collectors, landlords, and the seigniorial elite (French Revolution). During the French Revolution,
King Louis XVI was in charge of the monarchy and was deposed in 1792 and later executed in
1793 (The French Revolution (1789 1799)). King Louis XVI fell into massive debt which forced
him to give into the Parlement of Paris and the Estates General, this then leading to the Revolution.
After the absolute monarchy was disbanded, the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the
Citizen was adopted. As reported by The French Revolution by history, com, the declaration
proclaimed the Assembly s commitment to replace the old system with one that was based on equal
opportunity, freedom of speech, popular sovereignty, and representative government. The National
Assembly soon learned that it wasn t easy to govern or be in charge of a country, this shown by the
months it took to draft a constitution for France (The French Revolution). According to this article,
many questions were asked when it came to creating the constitution such as Would the clergy owe
allegiance to the Roman Catholic Church or the French government? or Who would be responsible
for electing delegates? In 1792, the Assembly declared war on Austria and

An Analysis Of Hemingway s Hills Like White Elephants...
In Hemingway s Hills Like White Elephants I found many layers of symbolism, and a fascinating
psychological underplay afoot between his two characters. It begins with the girl s comment about
a line of white hills seen in the distance, which she compares to white elephants. The man responds
with the commentI ve never seen one.
The symbolism of a white elephant is widely known as something very large or apparent that no
one wishes to acknowledge or speak of in American society. It is an interesting opening to a very
strained conversation concerning an apparent pregnancy, and the man s wish to terminate it. The
couple s careful avoidance of actually naming the problem, or the proposed solution, suggests the
situation in which a mate, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As an interesting note, the name wormwood derives from the German word Wermut, which
translates as grievous in the English language.
The man s response to her bitterness is one of irritation and he snaps at her, whereupon she
promptly blames him for his lack of appreciation for her clever metaphor about the white hills;
referring , most likely, to his distracted attitude. It seems likely she is accustomed to him
complimenting her for her intelligence and wit, which is now not happening due to his worry over
her pregnancy. He again placates her, this time by agreeing the metaphor was a bright comparison.
When she softens her reference to the hill with an explanation, he makes small talk for a moment,
then launches into his campaign to convince her of the banality of an abortion. At this point,
Hemingway inserts her name, which suggests empathy for the girl s position. By giving her a
name, while leaving the man without one, the reader might find her to be a more personalized
character. She has a name, which in human society is a symbol of individuality and importance,
while someone that

Japan Western Influence
Japan s isolation policy during the seventeenth century up until the nineteenth century left its people
and government to simply rely on the influence of the Chinese, Koreans and the Dutch. The only
exposure Japan attained during the Tokugawa Shogunate from Western influences came from
Dutch missionaries as artists such as Maruyama Okyo. Eighteenth century Japanese art saw its fist
integration of Western style as observational art pieces became prominent. Coming along with
observational, the naturalistic approach became noticeably apparent when looking at Japanese
prints. Furthermore, as some Japanese scholars managed to get a hand of oil paints and engraving
techniques, mild Western influences were able to shape Japanese ukiyo eart. Ukiyo e¬ art was the

Nonetheless, Japan saw an emergence of the ukiyo e woodblock printing style once again during
the twentieth century as shin hanga art. Shin Hanga art or new prints corresponded with the
demands of Western technologies and style that emerged during the rapid modernization. While,
shin hanga prints did emerge during the early twentieth century as a new type of Japanese art,
shin hanga maintained ukiyo e principles like the study of focus. Shin hanga artists such as
Yoshida Hiroshi, Kawase Hasui, and Itou Shinsui closely compare to the ukiyo e focus on beauty
and nature. Furthermore, both ukiyo e and shin hanga prints were able to capture the essence of
the time period both movements were active. While ukiyo e captures the traditional yet lonely
world of Japan, shin hanga was able to portray the tumultuous period of Japanese traditions mixing
with the West (LaLonde). Two works created by Hiroshige (Vesper Bell at the Mill Temple, Lake

The Revolution From Above By Reza Shah
REVOLUTION FROM ABOVE Reza Shah was in control of everything. Reza Shah s obsession
with control educational matters is vividly illustrated in an anecdote told by Solayman Behbudi,
the ruler s personal assistant. Reza Shah was so used to the tolling of the bells of the Tarbiat
School, located next to the ruler s palace, that when one day he failed to hear the sound, he
inquired about the reason. Being informed that the school had closed on account of the death of one
of its employees, the shah angrily scolded the minister of educationfor failing to uphold a standard
of uniformity by allowing one particular school to suspend its classes. By establishing a highly
controlled national school system, he was able to control the schools,... Show more content on

Few of them had the sense that their tribes were actually part of Iran, the greater nation. They were
loyal to the Khans, the leaders of the tribe. They collected taxes, established civil and criminal
courts. The tribes were like a government inside a government. (Reference 11)Therefore, the
autonomy of the tribes was preventing Iran from achieving nationalism. Having the tribal people
loyal to the central government, to Iran, by promoting nationalism would help the government to
better control them by making sure that they do not rebel or do anything that would hurt the
interests or the power central government or of Iran. And one way to destroy the independence of
the tribes was to force the nomads to become sedentary, to settle down so that the government
could keep a better eye on them. And education can play an important role in changing a person s
ideology and habits. It was a means to help the nomads to get used to the new way of living and to
instill them a sense of nation or Iranism. Reza Shah launched a project in 1929 to educate the
children of Iran s multitudinous tribes. The curriculum in the tribal schools varied in different
areas, but was nevertheless highly censored and designed in such a way that would benefit the
government in promoting loyalty to the nation, in preventing rebelling and in

The Task of Keeping a Driver Sober
There are many reasons people drink, however keeping a driver sober can be a monumental task.
Often times drunk driving ends grimly. Every 51 minutes on average, someone is killed in a
drunk driving crash, 10,322 people died in 2012 due as a result of drunk driving (http:/
/www.madd.org/drunk driving/). Many programs and laws have spawned in hopes of reducing the
number of drunk drivers on the road. These programs raise awareness on the results of drunk driving
; however they lack a probable preventative solution. Through alternate practices and more
awareness, drunk driving may be aided in reduction.
Drunk Driving should be stopped as it can result in permanent injury and trauma to various body
parts such the spinal cord. Some victims are lucky to still be partially mobile, using canes and
walkers in aide whilst moving. In many cases Driving Under the Influence (DUI) victims are lucky
to be alive as often times these accidents end in death. Many times as explained by Gary Schuman
this will lead to a case of death insurance dispute in order to cover losses and opens up more debate
between the insurers and the victims families Dying Under The Influence: Drunk Driving And

My Favorite Villain In The Legend Of Zelda
Who is your favorite villain? Maybe it s the evil Darth Vader, killing his own people in his
conquest, or Sauron, who is rarely seen but sends his armies off to stop Frodo. All villains have
something in common, they are a character in a story or play who opposes the hero (Merriam
Webster). This is especially true in video games, where most of the story is driven by the villain.
The Legend of Zelda, a popular game franchise, has had many villains in its time. Lord Vaati is
the most well written and well developed villain in the Zelda series. He appears in the series
multiple times and never fails to get the player interested. Lord Vaati is one of two recurring
villains in the Legend of Zeldaseries. He is first seen in Four Swords, but we are given more
backstory about him in Minish Cap. In Minish Cap, Vaati is trying to become the most powerful
magician, and tries to take over Hyrule in his quest for more power. He searches for an ancient
artifact known as the Light Force, which would give him ultimate power. In the end he is defeated
by the hero, Link, and is sealed away in a sword to return in later games, (Miyamoto). Every great
villain needs a goal, a motive, to drive him/her to commit their evil deeds. As stated in the article
What Makes a Good Villain , Villains, too, should also have understandable goals. Furthermore,
these goals should be rooted in that villain s psychology. (The Nook Press Blog). Vaati is no

Essay The Importance of Fallout Shelters
A fallout shelter is a shelter that was used in a time of need. From 1947 to 1991, fallout shelters
were a big hit during the Cold war. The fallout shelter represents the atomic age and how families
got through nuclear attacks. A lot was contributed in the making of these shelters, and they kept
families together. Time and effort to keep America safe is what made these shelters important to
American History. Not only are the fallout shelters a symbol of the cold warand fear, but it also
significantly impacted America because they protected Americans from radioactive debris, gave
America shelter in a time of war, and it reduced casualties.

Along with packing enough material for the time being, a shelter plan is a must (Bomb Shelter
Guide). Before the shelters, the issue of the Cold War and nuclear attack were introduced and it
induced panic ( Kennedy Urges Americans to Build Bomb Shelters ). As the nuclear attack was
seen as a threat to Americans, Cuba had already received nuclear missiles. Cuba s nuclear missile
attack was known as the Cuban Missile Crisis, in which the USSR placed nuclear missiles in Cuba.
This event resulted in the 13 days crisis. The 13 days crisis was tense, and during this time
period, Americans began to stock up on canned foods. Canned food was the only food Americans
shopped for because none of the shelters had refrigeration, and there were no stoves or microwaves
( The Family Fallout Shelter Nebraska). Games like Monopoly, or cards were often played in the
shelters to pass time by. Girls often had diaries to write in about how living in the shelter was like.
We ve suffered a war, and one thing we know: Whenever our nation s faced war, whether it was
in the 1980s when we were winning the Cold War or in the 1940s during World War II, the
responsible thing to do has been to borrow money to win the war (Mehlman). On top of Americans
having shelter, fear and casualties were reduced ( Fallout Shelters).Washington was the main focal
point of the nuclear threat, and because of that, these shelters were offered for their protection and

How to Patent a Website Idea: Everything You Need to Know
If you want to learn how to patent a website idea, it is important that you understand the steps
necessary to protect your website idea from others that may try to profit from your idea. For
example, a utility patent is the most common type of patent. It covers the functional aspects of an
invention. In order for an invention to qualify for patent protection, it must be useful, new, and non
obvious. This means that it must be have some sort of purpose, or otherwise, be useful to potential
consumers. It must be new, which means that the invention cannot be similar to another invention
already patented. Lastly, it must be non obvious, meaning that it cannot be an obvious combination

Provisional Patents for Websites
A provisional patent application is filed with the USPTO and establishes an early filing date, but
doesn t amount to a formal patent application unless and until the applicant files a non provisional
patent application within the 12 months subsequent to filing the non provisional patent. A
provisional patent application is both less detailed and less costly. Immediately after you file your
provisional patent application, you can indicate that your website idea is patent pending. During this
time period, you can develop your website idea even further and turn your provisional patent
application into a formal non provisional patent application.
With a provisional application, you ll want to prepare diagrams and drawings of your website when
filing the application. When drafting the diagrams, consider the user interface itself, the software
generated process, and the administrative screens/cods/software used to maintain the website. Since
there are many unique business processes involved in your website, you want to keep each one
distinct, showcasing the unique methods and processes utilized, and how your website came
together. The more specific and detailed you can be, the higher your chance of patent protection.
Always be mindful that you can hire a qualified patent attorney to assist you with preparing your
application. You can even hire a professional to assist in the drawings,

Video Case: Constraint Management at Southwest Airlines
Question 1: Analyze Southwest s passenger boarding process using the Theory of Constraints.
Southwest Airlines is an airline company that has set industry benchmarks of having the best
turnaround ratios, in an industry where lead time during different operations is very time
consuming. Southwest currently boasts a rapid gate turnaround of 25 minutes or less, and it
demonstrates how attention to activities pertaining to ground operations (including cleaning of the
aircraft, fuelling and flight preparation) can help the company in being so operationally efficient.

advantage that Southwest has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Constraints in the boarding process are related to the boarding sequence of passengers; in order for
Southwest to manage its constraints, they need to improve the boarding sequence of passengers to
make it as fast as possible which in turn would lead to better turnaround times (faster boarding
times).
Question 2: Which boarding scenario among the different ones proposed would you recommend for
implementation? Why?
The seven different alternate boarding scenarios that were designed were: * New family pre
boarding behind the A group of first to board passengers. This method would give priority to
passengers that are travelling with families and give them exclusive access to the aircraft first. *
Family pre boarding before anyone else, but seating choices limited on board to behind the
wing. Similar to the first scenario, this would give families priority in the boarding sequence but
would restrict them to certain sections of the aircraft. * Six boarding groups (within A B C
groups) instead of the original three A B C groups. This would allow for better division of the
boarding sequence since the groups have been doubled. * Assigned boarding gate line positions
based on both boarding group and gate arrival time. This scenario would allow Southwest to get rid
of its current single line philosophy. * Single

Women During World War 2 Essay
During World War II, the percentage of women in the workforce from 1940 to 1945 increased
from 27% to 37%, which includes 350,000 women who served in the armed forces. Most
women had to get jobs due to the men having to fight in the war. Women took jobs as nurses,
engineers, chemists, photographers, message decoders, spies, made airplanes and atomic
bombs, and most of them, about 84% worked in factories. The opportunity for women to get
jobs allowed them to get paid good money and gain job skills. For example, Lieutenant Elsie S.
Ott was an air nurse who helped with the transportation of wounded soldiers from India to
Washington D.C. so the soldiers could receive help. This was Elsie S. Ott s first time riding in
an airplane and caring for hurt soldiers, and she had no proper training with transporting
wounded soldiers. Lieutenant Elsie S. Ott was given not only proper nurse training, but also was
given the Air medal. She was the first woman to get such a medal. Then, Margaret Bourke White

I have a dream that one day, pit bulls will not be judged by the name of their breed, but by the
content of their character. Everyday around the world, pit bulls are killed because of the size of
their head and not the size of their heart. Breed specific laws have threatened pit bulls in other
countries as well as our own. In Ireland, a dog can be seized by police if they are suspicious that it
is a pit bull. They will then measure the innocent dog and if its muscle mass and width matches the
length of a pitbull, then the dog is instantly put on death row such as those in Alcatraz. There is

Theme Of Secrecy In The Scarlet Letter

to relationships that The Scarlet Letter addresses. Husband wife, mother child, adulterer

can cause to relationships is what the book is about: adultery. A husband or wife keeping an affair

to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, there is a significant and growing need for
CRNAs across the country.
In order to be accepted into an accredited nurse anesthesia program, you must be a currently
licensed RN with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or other appropriate baccalaureate
degree and at least one year of experience in an acute care setting. Certified Registered Nurse
Anesthetist (CRNA) programs, which lead to a master s or doctoral degree, take two to three years

graduation, you must pass the national certification exam before you can begin practice. However,
certification is not a one time accomplishment: In order to maintain their certification standing,
CRNAs must obtain a minimum of 40 hours of continuing education every two years.
Generally, the path to becoming a CRNA begins with a 4 year undergraduate degree in nursing or
another field. Although it is not required to possess a degree in nursing, a current license as a

The Reign Of The Carolingian Dynasty
Although the reign of the Carolingian dynasty occupied only a brief part of the entirety of the
medieval era, the Carolingian Empire that was established during that period made both a historical
and cultural impact on medieval society that would resonate for years to come. Until the empire
fell in 888, the Carolingian House of the Franksinitially brought stability and progress to most of
Europe, as well as pioneering a cultural and intellectual renaissance that influenced the remainder of
the Middle Ages. Although there were various Carolingian rulers who aided these advances, it is
fair to say that Carolingian developments reached their peak during the reign of Charlemagne, a
leader and reformer of the church who fully appreciated the importance of learning and education.
Throughout his reign, he established himself, as a ruler, and his empire as an example that
subsequent Kings of the Middle Ages would aim to obtain and uphold. In addition, Charlemagne
created a cultural legacy that allowed the empire to prosper and formed links between the
medieval world and the ancient world. With this in mind, this essay will principally explore the
positive aspects of the Carolingian legacy and the ways in which they were fundamental to the
development of medieval society, focusing on the most significant successes during the reign of
Charlemagne. It will also briefly touch upon the role of other Carolingian leaders as well as the
societal impact of the eventual dissolution of the

Astor Pazzolla Influence On Nuevo Tango
Astor Piazzolla is from Argentina and he is a composer. He created the tango genre called nuevo
tango which incorporates jazz and tango which is the new tango style. This style requires more
instruments than the traditional tango. Ever since tango lost its popularity around 1950s and
1960s, Piazzolla was considered to be the saviour of tango due to the creation of nuevo tango. The
traditional tango was designed as dancing music, and not merely for listening. Furthermore,
traditional tango was mainly played by the poor and the lower middle class. As such, in 1950s,
tango started losing its creativity and popularity. Since then, tango was studied but no longer
played to fulfill its original purpose. In fact, new tango music was not allowed to be melodic due
to its usage of protestant and the expression of power.
Nonetheless, Piazzolla developed the new tango in 1955 and it gained popularity through upper
middle class and tourists. The tango that Piazzolla developed was mainly played for listening due
to its rhythm. He transformed tango music from a functional dance style to a symbolic social
statement (Live Class session 3). This statement depicted the poor and the oppressed in Argentina
as well as people around the world. It also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Customer Expectation And How Much They Differ From High...
eCommerce Strategy
Introduction In this assignments I will discuss internet customer expectation and how much they
differ from high street customers, the potential impact of ecommerce applications and planning and
managing an ecommerce strategy. I will also discuss the risk of linking business systems to the
internet.
Impact of e Commerce on business
Internet customers expect to have 24/7 service that is quick and easy with little to no contact
with human members of staff. Speed is key. Maintaining a quick and high performing website is
integral to ecommerce success, particularly during high demand times. Internet customers will
become frustrated quickly if access is slow or not attainable and so will give up and try another
rival business due to the ease of being able to visit multiple competitors within minutes. Surveys
have shown that customers get frustrated with e commerce sites due to pop up adds, difficulty
with finding specific items, service isn t as good as in the actual store and the service isn t
personalised. For ecommerce businesses, customer expectations have become very high. They want
cheaper products, in good condition with a quick delivery time and good customer service if they
were to come into contact with an employee.
When a business becomes a click business or adds on to an existing brick, then their target
customers increases and could become global, whereas with solely a brick business their customers
are restricted to those within the

Sherman s march to the Sea
Title: Sherman s March to the Sea Name: Institution: Name of Facilitator: Course Name and
Number: Date: Abstract This paper describes a campaign that helped decide the American Civil
War. A General of the Union army named William Tecumseh Sherman helped lead a campaign that
started in Georgia go the sea in Savannah, and finish to help aid the main forces in the Carolinas.
During this march the soldiers lived off the land and the Southern people s food and burning
anything that could be of military use to the South s forces. This march helped decisively end the
war, and struck many blows to the South s forces and its people s morale, that Sherman s army
could march unopposed through the South.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Other soldiers gave up sleeping, when it got to cold, to sit in front of roaring fires (Kennett,
1995). The wind in the area sometimes combined with the rains and the cold air, nearly
knocking over the tents of the soldiers and making them freeze into the night. During Sherman s
March to the Sea, he made a stop at Georgia s then capital, Milledgeville. Sherman arrived in
Milledgeville encountering virtually no resistance from Confederate troops; for they were off
defending Macon and Augusta and various key bridges across rivers and gorges. The Georgia
governor had fled the town and took anything of value from the Executive Mansion, shortly
before Sherman arrived. Sherman took note of the bare house and its slim pickings and slept
inside along with some equipment and other soldiers for the next few days. News of Sherman s
capture of Georgia s capital helped break apart the will of the Confederate soldiers. After
Sherman s short rest he continued his march to Savannah where he could replenish his supplies.
Sherman arrived on the outskirts of Savannah on December 11, 1864. The city was occupied by
Confederate troops, and they had the city locked down. To help seize the city Sherman would
have to capture Fort McAllister to be able to safely advance to Savannah. Sherman sends 4,000
infantry to seize the fort. After a very brief struggle the fort is seized and is in control by Sherman,
and this fort gives him

Comparison Of Aristotle And Aquinas And The Highest Good
Comparison of Aristotle and Aquinas and the highest good Both Aristotle and Aquinas were
prominent philosophers who wrote profound works that discussed the concept of a highest human
good. They also included their own terms of achieving aforesaid good. In Aristotle s Nicomachean
Ethics, the highest good is a state of constant seeking as a way of achieving full capacity as a human
. The writings of Aquinas have some similarities to the writings of Aristotle, however, in Treatise
on Law, he discusses the type and elements of law and allowed the role of God to influence his
ideas. His analysis of law ultimately names the highest human good as being in the perfect
community with God. Aquinas s argument supports obedience to law, preexisting inclinations for
the good, and a resolution. Aristotle requires that the person constantly seek to know and be at
work, which can act as a positive force that drives humans to improve themselves. In Book One of
the Nicomachean Ethics, Aristotle argues for an ultimate end, and that knowledge of the good
should be influential and important to all human life. He explains that it is better to act aimed at
the good of the whole, meaning society, and transcend the level of individual preservation
(1094b5 1094b10). Aquinas created a hierarchy of rules to follow when acting in the name of the
good. There is a specific order of the precepts of natural law. The lowest inclination affects all
substances and is the desire to preserve the self. Next,

Prosecutors and police officers may be less likely to believe victims if they have no signs of
physical abuse like cuts, bruises, or scrapes, or if they have known their attackers for a long time
(Hilgenkamp 163). Victims often feel ashamed and humiliated for bringing their experiences
forward and become frustrated and furtherly emotionally damaged (Hilgenkamp 163). Dealing
with sexual assault cases differently based on the victim s state and story is unfair to the
survivor and will only further hurt someone who has already suffered through a traumatic ordeal
since it causes them feel as though they are not being listened to or heard. In addition to
investigations that are often biased and poorly conducted, the number of convictions made in
sexual assault cases is astonishingly small. A few years ago, The Chicago Tribune published the
results of a study involving 171 campus sex complaints at six Midwestern universities. Twelve of
the accused perpetrators were arrested, and only four were convicted (Hedelman and Brown). Due
to the low conviction rates, many women feel as though their allegations of having been sexually
assaulted are not being taken seriously or even acknowledged (Hedelman and Brown).
Unfortunately, sexual assault is a popular crime on college campuses, but when victims bring their
stories forward to law enforcers, they are not taken seriously and severe punishments are rarely
given to assaulters, which further harms people who have already been wrongly treated. Police and
investigators have to change the ways in which they deal with sexual assault cases because
investigations are unfairly biased and are usually so inaccurately conducted that most offenders

04 May 2015How Graffiti has Changed over Time. Graffiti is the act of inscribing or drawing on
walls for the purpose of communicating a message to the general public. The term comes from the
Greek term Graphein, which means to write. Graffiti has been around since men first started
drawing pictures in caves. However, the focus of this paper is not on pre historic or amateur
graffiti, but on the modern hip hop graffiti movement that began in the late 1960 s. The graffiti
has two versions: a legal aspect, in which artists are able to spray paintings and murals of great
spectacle and technical. The illegal side, is where they express their painting in public spaces
such as schools, metros, trains, posters, and wall Streets, etc. Graffiti are a poor choice for
people who practiced this objective because it deny people in follow good roads which is seen a
bad self expression and they also may be expensive, putting pressure on low income families.
Controversial, secrecy, and taboo are some points that connect with graffiti argument where graffiti
has changed over the years.

The Iron Cage By Sociologist Max Weber
Have you ever felt trapped within the daily responsibilities and tasks that make up your daily
agenda or planner? Have you ever felt as an individual who s not living his or her own life, but
rather living by the standards and norms opposed and followed by the members of our modern day
society? If your answer is yes to any of the two questions above, then you are experiencing and
living what is known today as the Iron Cage . The Iron Cage refers to a very simple, yet complex
theory developed by sociologist Max Weber. In his theory which addresses a sociological problem
regarding standards of living; Dr. Alana Bibeau further deliberated on how Weber argues, that an
individual s life is being transformed not only by the ideas of efficiency, but shaped by the
increasing means of rationality and calculability. Though it can be argued by some that the
increasing means of efficiency, rationality, and calculability have no impact on the identity and
development of a person, I stand strong to the belief that the increasing means of these three
factors, contribute to an individual s loss of identity; at the same time these three factors also
contribute and shape an individual s life, this of course, going in accordance with what society has
been idealized with within the context of Weber s theory of the Iron Cage .

Class Inequality And The American Class
A response to Class in America 2009 makes some good points why Americans hate the word
class. Class is a word to classify a group of people to a certain social status. Americans do not like
to be put in a category based off of their money. Gregory Mantsios the author, explains how we
view ourselves. For example, most American citizens identify themselves with work. Mantsios
gives other reasons, and a solution to fix the American class labeling. Mantsios made some
really good points about how Americas view word class, and made me agree with some of his
myth. He also presented a weak solution that would go against our government to fix the
problem of class in America. Class in America by Gregory Mantsios is a profile of class
inequality in today s society in America. He begins by mentioning that people in America, rich or
poor, do not seem to talk about class or class differences. He says that is why classes divide. He
mentions myths most Americans believe that this country is classless, and full of equal
opportunity, and replaces them with realities. These realities are that class inequality is not pretty
bad but getting worse. Emphasized by profiles of citizens of various classes. He concludes that the
main problems are capitalism, racism, and androcentric, and the solution is redistribution of wealth.
Mantsios says, Workers are most likely to identify with their employer, industry, or occupational
group (177). When you ask most people what they do for a living they

The town takes basketball very seriously, it is literally a way of life for them. The Hickory

Every week the whole town comes together for the games to cheer on the Hickory Huskers and

The Fall Of The Roman Empire Analysis
In The Fall of the Roman Empire , the author Peter Heather talks about the ways the Roman
empire conquered the many territories surrounding them and how strong of an empire the Roman
empire was. He also talks about the build up of the events that caused the empire to fall. Peter also
talks about the people that helped or was involved in the build up or the collapse of the Roman
empire. Peter Heather mainly wrote this book to inform the reader of how the European
barbarians got turned into enemies through imperialism; additionally, he mentions that these
Barbarians were capable of tearing apart an empire that ruled over them for many years. Peter,
also, mentions all of the battles and build ups that occurred throughout the Barbarians reign of
power and speaks mainly of the battles that they went through. Peter s argument is that the empire
did not collapse because of social or moral collapse, but that the empire fell due to the Barbarians.

the light of it.ВЁ This quote shows how William Franklin, the colonial governor of New Jersey was
a Loyalist, while his father Benjamin Franklinwas a Patriot. The father and son did not speak to
each other because of their different views. Loyalists and Patriots had very different opinions on
whether or not to stay loyal to Britain. While the Patriots had more followers, the Loyalists had
strong reasons to remain loyal to the British government. While there were many advantages, the
key and most essential arguments are the following; Britain gave the colonists safety, the taxes and
acts that the British put in place were to help and not hurt the colonists, and the British Army would
continue to be on their side. Initially, the English gave the colonists a safe place to settle and start a
new life with promising opportunities. The British gained a great deal of land when they defeated

Obama wanted to strengthen the ban on assault weapons, which were the weapons used by
several killers in mass shootings in 2015. Most mass shootings are committed by people with
mental illnesses, or people who were bullied or frustrated at work. With weak gun control people
are able to purchase guns easily, and those that want to use them for mass shootings have very
little standing in their way. Mass shooters, people with mental issues, and people with criminal
backgrounds are all able to acquire guns, which calls for stricter background checks to be
performed. Some countries have very restrictive background checks that require people to take
gun training, get a hunting license, and show proof of membership to a shooting range. They also
require that people prove that they are not mentally ill, do not have a criminal background, are old
enough to have a gun, and do not have a police record. Frederick Lemueux from Slate Magazine

June 25th, 1950 was the first military action taken during the Cold War. This was the start of the
Korean War when close to 750,000 North Korean soldiers crossed the 38th parallel and entered
South Korea. North Korea had been Communist and ruled by Ho Chi Minh while South Korea
was not communist and were being ruled by Ngo Dinh Diem, who was a very harsh, cruel leader
who killed many of his own people. However, the United Statessupported South Korea because
they were against communist and was trying to practice their policy of containment. Americans
were scared that the Korean War would begin to spread communism due to the Soviet Unions
involvement. A goal of this war for the United States was to keep the communists from North Korea

Eric Liu s The Accidental Asian
Eric Liu has written two books with Nick Hanauer on politics and civic life, The Garden of
Democracy (2011) and the True Patriot (2007) and has written a memoir, The Accidental Asian.
His commentary on branding appears to be the main issue in the op ed of the public space in the
USA. Eric Liu displays his disagreement on their Bronx homestead s being named into some
brand called Yankees . The Yankees showing off their name into the homestead has angered the

Either risk the chance of getting something more or play it safe. In the business world, every
companies and organization has a similar goal that is take company and organization to the top.
Branding is one of the most efficient and convenient way of helping business to rise. For any
company, it is very difficult to earn or promote without advising their products or marks. I disagree
with the writer, I don t think that it s going to affect the community s soul and spirit nor its going to
affect the national treasure of the place. The cost for this is while advertising the brand is that you
must pay the other party a certain amount in exchange for the branding. This has both side
advantage, Firstly the public space is getting paid for adverting the brand. And earning in a legal
manner which helps others is not a negative thing. The public space would earn freely with any
obstacles in their way. With the help of an extra earning the public space can be made way
better. When a public space, such as parks or school or even buses become a source of
advertisement the idea that we are equal as citizen even though we may be unequal as consumers
is wrong. As it is benefiting all the people consumers and other people when the public space earns

Father And Father In Alice Munro s Boys And Girls
Father
For a child, a father means the world to them. And with changing social norms, fathers are much
closer to their children than ever before. The old stereotype of a cold emotionless labourer has
been replaced by the soft caring figure who takes an interest in his kids lives. Alice Munro, Wendy
Wasserstein, and Theodore Roethke all explore this new relationship through various mediums.
Boys and Girls (Munro) is a short story about a young girl strongly influenced by her father trying
to find her place in the world. Tender Offer (Wasserstein) is a play detailing the difficulties of
communication between a father and daughter in modern times. Lastly, My Papa s Waltz (Roethke)
is a light hearted poem illustrating a joyful night shared by a father and his child. Among all three
works, the children can be seen looking up to their fathers hoping in turn to be recognized by them.
This common theme can be traced among the different works of art thanks to plot, conflict and
imagery.
In Alice Munro s Boys and Girls , the author employs both plot and conflict to bring forth the
strong yet one sided relationship. Throughout the short story, the main character, Margaret, avoids
at all costs the indoor chores her mother is tasked with, preferring to work on the farm with her
father, work done out of doors, and in my father s service, was ritualistically important. (Munro p.4)
The conflict between her and her mother only helped to push her closer to the other parent,

Poverty Between Rich And Poor Countries
Countries of the world can clearly be divided into rich and poor. These rich and established
countries already having a developed education system, health care system, and strong central
government where as these poor and developing countries are struggling with all of the above. Poor
countries also suffering from terrible diseases, crime, and corruption on all fronts, including
government; something that these rich and powerful countries know not much about. However,
when the question comes up, Do these rich nations owe poor nations? The answer should and
always be no. Rich countries are not responsible for the huge amounts of debts that these
developing countries are in, they are not responsible for the misuse of grants and loans giving to
these developing countries, and they are certainly not responsible for all of the corruptions in
government and commerce that take place in most of these developing countries. With that being
said, these rich countries do not owe these poor developing countries anything, but should aid in
their development. With the gap widening between rich and poor nations, this cycle will continue
until the gap is too wide to be fixed. These established countries must take more responsibility into
assisting these developing countries and bridging the gap between rich and poor. Wealthy countries
have an obligation to maintain and grow their own wealth in order to keep a stable economy. The
economic term pareto optimal is the idea that one cannot

Plenty Of Wild West Analysis
The second main weakness that is found in Global Americans is that it does not elaborate on how
the Buffalo Bill Wild West Show wrongfully portrayed Native Americans as dangerous or the
impact it had on the viewers. Global Americans makes a brief mention that Cody portrayed Indians
as victorious, but does not explain in what sense; primary sources, on the other side, illustrate that in
the show Indians were portrayed as savages that needed to be civilized. Although the roles that
Natives played were dramatized, they were concurrent with the perception American society and the
government perpetuated. This is illustrated by the article Plenty of Wild West Enthusiasm, from the
Washington Post, that describes how Indians ambushed a carriage

When we think back on the mistakes we have made in life did any of them have a good
outcome? For young Stanley Yelnats in Holes by Louis Sachar, a mistake turned his life around.
The mistake put him in a bad place, but by the end of the story he had actually ended up with
many good outcomes. Stanley benefitted from many things from the mistake made by Hector
Zeroni. Stanley made a friend, received/ found a treasure, and also bettered himself as a person.
Even though he got pulled into a mess he did not let it destroy him as a person. He strived to
better himself and those around him. In the beginning of the story Stanley is a timid, bigger built,
loving, and caring boy; but as the story progresses he begins to change. Stanley s personality...

It is not always about what is on the outside but what is on the inside. He has always been loving
and caring but through this rough time in his life it is shown a lot. He shows this side to his
family and also his new friends. After Stanley was done taking the blame for the spilt sunflower
seeds and zero digging Stanley s hole for him, Stanley showed Zero he cared for him; he agreed
to teach him to read. I ll try to teach you to read if you want, Stanley offered. I don t know how
to teach, but I m not worn out today, since you dug a lot of my hole. (Sachar, 96.) Stanley was
grateful for what Zero had done for him and wanted to repay the favor and help him out as well.
When Stanley left for camp his mom gave him pen and paper so he could write her and tell her
how it was going. By writing to his mom and telling her that he was okay, even though he lied
about what he was doing he showed he cared for his parents. Dear Mom and Dad, Camp is hard,
but challenging. We ve been running obstacle courses, and have to swim long distances on the
lake. Tomorrow we learn (Sachar, 81.) As the story comes to an end Stanley really cares about
Zero and refuses to leave camp without him. He gets his lawyer to ask for files and after the
Attorney General could not find his files they took Zero home with them. C mon Stanley, said his
lawyer. Your parents are waiting. Stanley stayed where he was.

The Texas Health And Human Services Commission
Overview
The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is required by federal law to ensure
federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) are reimbursed no less than their Prospective Payment
System (PPS) rate for services provided in the Medicaid and CHIP programs (42 U.S.C. 1396a).
Prior to September 2011, Medicaid Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) paid FQHCs a fee for
service rate and HHSC reimbursed FQHCs the difference between the rate paid by the MCO and
the FQHC PPS rate in quarterly wraparound payments. Pursuant to budget riders starting in the
2012 2013 General Appropriations Act, and continuing through the current appropriations bill,
HHSC Rider 62 (HB1, 84nd Regular Session, 2015), MCOs were required to pay the full PPS
rates to FQHCs up front. The stated intent of Rider 62 was to reduce HHSC administrative costs.
The administrative cost was associated with the Texas Medicaid and Healthcare Partnership
(TMHP), an HHSC contractor, calculating and disbursing the wrap payment to each FQHC. By
moving responsibility for the wrap payment to the MCO, the administrative cost to HHSC was
eliminated. Rider 62 did not contemplate a reduction in appropriate FQHC utilization.
The FQHC PPS encounter rate includes the cost for all services FQHCs provide to Medicaid and
CHIP patients, including medical, dental, behavioral health and pharmacy. HHSC is required to set
MCO premium rates to sufficiently cover the costs of the FQHC reimbursement rate; that is done

The Perfect Homecoming
The Perfect Homecoming
J.K. Rowling once said, Rock bottom became the foundation on which I rebuilt my life. In 2017
the United States had one of the harshest hurricane seasons in a long time, leaving a lot of people
at rock bottom . During the season Hurricane Harvey made landfall in Houston. The Washington
post said, Harvey has unloaded 9 trillion gallons of water. The Weather Channel stated that
Rockport, TX experienced 130 MPH winds. The storm was devastating, flooding most of the city
which destroyed countless buildings and homes. When one thinks of home, the first thing that
comes to mind is not always school. But to the students and staff of Lutheran South Academy,
their school was not just a place to learn; but a community where everyone feels like they are a
part of a family. When disaster strikes, people lean on family for support. The disaster of Hurricane
Harvey did a number on the campus, destroying many of the buildings belonging to this community.
The flooding of the LSA campus due to Hurricane Harvey displaced the institution forcing them to
struggle with the efforts of rebuilding what was destroyed in the flood. However, if people would
endure the struggle together and help rebuild instead of leaving when complications arrive then
LSA would be restored in better time and of better quality.
The devastation of Harvey on the LSA community forced them to move into the facilities of

Analysis of Symbiosis Between Medicago Truncatula and...
1.This work aims to analyze the existence of both partner choice and plant sanctions in Medicago
truncatula Sinorhizobium meliloti symbiosis by performing split root experiments with natural
strains (Gubry Rangin et al. 2010). NoГ« Hammerstein (1994) described symbiosis as biological

the conflict. The strains with different fixation level in natural rhizobiapopulations were described
by Miller Sirois (1982) and Rangin et al. (2008). Bull Rice (1991) and Simms Taylor (2002)

The N2 fixing strain appears efficient in nitrogen fixation than non fixing strain

The nodule number was significantly higher in roots inoculated with the non fixing strain than the

There are restrictions of nodule formation in the non limiting side of the plant when one side of the

The mean biomass per nodule was higher in the N2 fixing strain which indicates that M. truncatula

Hypochondria Argumentative Essay
Hypochondria, most have heard this word before, whether on a television show or even in comedic
jokes. But, what is hypochondria? Most people who have heard of this illness disassociate it from
its definition. Hypochondria is when a healthy person is obsessively worried about their health,
usually believing they are ill with something they are not. Although, people who are seriously
afflicted with this mental sickness can develop other symptoms, and are called hypochondriacs.
To begin with, there are quite a few symptoms of hypochondria that a person may utilize to find
whether or not they, or another person, suffers from this disorder. To start, a person may develop
severe anxiety, to the point to where it incredibly influences their daily life in a debilitating way. Of
course, the more obvious characteristic is the irrational belief that the person, suspected to be a
hypochondriac, is constantly afflicted with an injury or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
People can choose to undergo psychotherapy, behavioral stress management therapy, and exposure

cope, or even ultimately overcome it. Therapy could even address underlying issues that initially
began the sickness. There aren t many medications that doctors prescribe, because that could
potentially promote the disease. However, doctors can recommend anti depressants that may help
with a patient s anxiety. In conclusion, hypochondria, despite its lighthearted reputation, should not
be taken less seriously than any other mental illness. Hypochondria is just as real as any other
disease, affecting about nine percent of the population. Both women and men can contract it, and
age has no influence. Everyone is at risk; the most effective way of combating hypochondria is
education. Educating yourself and others about this illness could possibly prevent hypochondria

Reliability Is Defined, Within Psychometric Testing
Reliability is defined, within psychometric testing, as the stability of a research study or
measure(s). Reliability can be examined externally, Inter rater and Test Retest, as well as
internally; which is seen in internal consistency reliability methods. It s best to establish inter
rater reliability outside of the context of the study s measure. If the reliability is incorporated in
the measure and is extremely low, this can cause serious issues for the researchers going
forward. It is highly recommended that a pilot study be done to establish the inter rater
reliability. It is also a good idea to periodically assess the inter rater reliability if the study will be
conducted for an extensive amount of time. There is a difference in how to assess categorical
versus continuous measures inter rater reliability. If the measure is a compilation of categories,
then the researchers could have the raters mark each category that is applicable to the observations.
From those selections, the research team should calculate the percentage of agreement among the
raters. However, the research team could also calculate Cohen s Kappa, for a more stable
percentage. Cohen s Kappa Cohen s Kappa states: where Pr(a) is the observed agreement among
raters, and Pr(e) is the conjectural likelihood of chance agreement, using the observed data to
calculate the probabilities of the raters hypothetically choosing each category. With this calculation,
if the raters are in complete agreement then

Eating Well Is More Than Just Choking Down Salad
How to Eat Better (and Love What You Eat)
Eating well is more than just choking down salad. It s a lifestyle choice that has better long term
benefits than just fitting into a nice outfit. Eating well doesn t just impact your body it impacts your
mind as well.
Healthy people are happy people, and happy people are healthy. Of course what s healthy for one
person might not help another, but people who decide to take a healthier route become happier and
more energetic. And that s only one benefit.
Happy people are also more confident. They tend to be more attractive to others, but that stems
from their personality and not necessarily from their body type. You can add new depth to your
relationships when you re able to accept that happiness is more important than weight.
Making the changes to eat healthier sounds harder than it is. When you look at the long term
benefits of being happier, living longer, getting fewer healthproblems in later life and deepening
your relationships, making some diet changes doesn t sound so bad. And to make it even easier,
we ve got some tips for you!

Black And Latino By Roberto Santiago
Multiracial children are becoming more common in today s society, many years ago multiracial
children were judged for having more than one culture and feeling excluded out from others.
Times have changed and according to a recent study from Pew Research Center, about 60% of
mixed adults are proud of their different cultures. This statistic perfectly fits the author Roberto
Santiago who wrote Black and Latino . On the other hand around 55% feel subjected by racial slurs
from non mixed people. Author Jade Snow Wong who wrote Fifth Chinese Daughter never dealt
with racismtowards herself but her father was racist about Americans and she expresses one culture
more than the other. While Santiago accepts both of his cultures and Wong mainly accepts one,
they each still faced racism in different ways. Accepting both cultures can be good for a person
and a lot easier when dealing with people who simply do not understand multiculturalism. Santiago
never felt like he had to choose a raceand stick to it, he always felt like he was Black and Latino
and that is because he is. In his essay Black and Latino he writes about growing up with two
cultures and having other people not accept him fully. He thought he was perfectly fine but
others expected him to pick a side because he did not fit the standards of being Black or Latino . I
am both and always have been. (par.1) He does not prefer one culture over the other but insists

Women Veterans Case Study

  • 3. Revolutions And The French Revolution Revolutions are a common occurrence throughout world history. With the amount of revolutions in history, there are those that get lost and those that are the most remembered or well known. One of the well known revolutions is the French Revolution which occurred in the years 1789 to 1799. Before the French Revolution, France was ruled by an absolute monarchy, this meaning that one ruler had the supreme authority and that said authority was not restricted by any written laws, legislature, or customs, a definition given by wikipedia.com and the feudal system, which was a system that said a peasant or worker would receive a piece of land in return for serving under a king, a definition given by vocabulary.com. Also during the Great Fear, commoners not only looted but also burned down the houses of tax collectors, landlords, and the seigniorial elite (French Revolution). During the French Revolution, King Louis XVI was in charge of the monarchy and was deposed in 1792 and later executed in 1793 (The French Revolution (1789 1799)). King Louis XVI fell into massive debt which forced him to give into the Parlement of Paris and the Estates General, this then leading to the Revolution. After the absolute monarchy was disbanded, the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen was adopted. As reported by The French Revolution by history, com, the declaration proclaimed the Assembly s commitment to replace the old system with one that was based on equal opportunity, freedom of speech, popular sovereignty, and representative government. The National Assembly soon learned that it wasn t easy to govern or be in charge of a country, this shown by the months it took to draft a constitution for France (The French Revolution). According to this article, many questions were asked when it came to creating the constitution such as Would the clergy owe allegiance to the Roman Catholic Church or the French government? or Who would be responsible for electing delegates? • 4. An Analysis Of Hemingway s Hills Like White Elephants... In Hemingway s Hills Like White Elephants I found many layers of symbolism, and a fascinating psychological underplay afoot between his two characters. It begins with the girl s comment about a line of white hills seen in the distance, which she compares to white elephants. The man responds with the commentI ve never seen one. The symbolism of a white elephant is widely known as something very large or apparent that no one wishes to acknowledge or speak of in American society. It is an interesting opening to a very strained conversation concerning an apparent pregnancy, and the man s wish to terminate it. The couple s careful avoidance of actually naming the problem, or the proposed solution, suggests the situation in which a mate, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As an interesting note, the name wormwood derives from the German word Wermut, which translates as grievous in the English language. The man s response to her bitterness is one of irritation and he snaps at her, whereupon she promptly blames him for his lack of appreciation for her clever metaphor about the white hills; referring , most likely, to his distracted attitude. It seems likely she is accustomed to him complimenting her for her intelligence and wit, which is now not happening due to his worry over her pregnancy. He again placates her, this time by agreeing the metaphor was a bright comparison. When she softens her reference to the hill with an explanation, he makes small talk for a moment, then launches into his campaign to convince her of the banality of an abortion. At this point, Hemingway inserts her name, which suggests empathy for the girl s position. By giving her a name, while leaving the man without one, the reader might find her to be a more personalized character. She has a name, which in human society is a symbol of individuality and importance, while someone that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Japan Western Influence Japan s isolation policy during the seventeenth century up until the nineteenth century left its people and government to simply rely on the influence of the Chinese, Koreans and the Dutch. The only exposure Japan attained during the Tokugawa Shogunate from Western influences came from Dutch missionaries as artists such as Maruyama Okyo. Eighteenth century Japanese art saw its fist integration of Western style as observational art pieces became prominent. Coming along with observational, the naturalistic approach became noticeably apparent when looking at Japanese prints. Reza Shah was so used to the tolling of the bells of the Tarbiat School, located next to the ruler s palace, that when one day he failed to hear the sound, he inquired about the reason. Being informed that the school had closed on account of the death of one of its employees, the shah angrily scolded the minister of educationfor failing to uphold a standard of uniformity by allowing one particular school to suspend its classes. • 10. My Favorite Villain In The Legend Of Zelda Who is your favorite villain? Maybe it s the evil Darth Vader, killing his own people in his conquest, or Sauron, who is rarely seen but sends his armies off to stop Frodo. All villains have something in common, they are a character in a story or play who opposes the hero (Merriam Webster). This is especially true in video games, where most of the story is driven by the villain. The Legend of Zelda, a popular game franchise, has had many villains in its time. Lord Vaati is the most well written and well developed villain in the Zelda series. He appears in the series multiple times and never fails to get the player interested. Lord Vaati is one of two recurring villains in the Legend of Zeldaseries. He is first seen in Four Swords, but we are given more backstory about him in Minish Cap. In Minish Cap, Vaati is trying to become the most powerful magician, and tries to take over Hyrule in his quest for more power. He searches for an ancient artifact known as the Light Force, which would give him ultimate power. In the end he is defeated by the hero, Link, and is sealed away in a sword to return in later games, (Miyamoto). Every great villain needs a goal, a motive, to drive him/her to commit their evil deeds. As stated in the article What Makes a Good Villain , Villains, too, should also have understandable goals. Furthermore, these goals should be rooted in that villain s psychology. (The Nook Press Blog). Vaati is no different, he wants to take over Hyrule and find ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The seven different alternate boarding scenarios that were designed were: * New family pre boarding behind the A group of first to board passengers. This method would give priority to passengers that are travelling with families and give them exclusive access to the aircraft first. * Family pre boarding before anyone else, but seating choices limited on board to behind the wing. Similar to the first scenario, this would give families priority in the boarding sequence but would restrict them to certain sections of the aircraft. * Six boarding groups (within A B C groups) instead of the original three A B C groups. The Reign Of The Carolingian Dynasty Although the reign of the Carolingian dynasty occupied only a brief part of the entirety of the medieval era, the Carolingian Empire that was established during that period made both a historical and cultural impact on medieval society that would resonate for years to come. Until the empire fell in 888, the Carolingian House of the Franksinitially brought stability and progress to most of Europe, as well as pioneering a cultural and intellectual renaissance that influenced the remainder of the Middle Ages. Although there were various Carolingian rulers who aided these advances, it is fair to say that Carolingian developments reached their peak during the reign of Charlemagne, a leader and reformer of the church who fully appreciated the importance of learning and education. Throughout his reign, he established himself, as a ruler, and his empire as an example that subsequent Kings of the Middle Ages would aim to obtain and uphold. In addition, Charlemagne created a cultural legacy that allowed the empire to prosper and formed links between the medieval world and the ancient world. With this in mind, this essay will principally explore the positive aspects of the Carolingian legacy and the ways in which they were fundamental to the development of medieval society, focusing on the most significant successes during the reign of Charlemagne. Ever since tango lost its popularity around 1950s and 1960s, Piazzolla was considered to be the saviour of tango due to the creation of nuevo tango. The traditional tango was designed as dancing music, and not merely for listening. Furthermore, traditional tango was mainly played by the poor and the lower middle class. As such, in 1950s, tango started losing its creativity and popularity. Since then, tango was studied but no longer played to fulfill its original purpose. In fact, new tango music was not allowed to be melodic due to its usage of protestant and the expression of power. Nonetheless, Piazzolla developed the new tango in 1955 and it gained popularity through upper middle class and tourists. The tango that Piazzolla developed was mainly played for listening due to its rhythm. He transformed tango music from a functional dance style to a symbolic social statement (Live Class session 3). • 24. Comparison Of Aristotle And Aquinas And The Highest Good Comparison of Aristotle and Aquinas and the highest good Both Aristotle and Aquinas were prominent philosophers who wrote profound works that discussed the concept of a highest human good. They also included their own terms of achieving aforesaid good. In Aristotle s Nicomachean Ethics, the highest good is a state of constant seeking as a way of achieving full capacity as a human . The writings of Aquinas have some similarities to the writings of Aristotle, however, in Treatise on Law, he discusses the type and elements of law and allowed the role of God to influence his ideas. His analysis of law ultimately names the highest human good as being in the perfect community with God. Aquinas s argument supports obedience to law, preexisting inclinations for the good, and a resolution. Aristotle requires that the person constantly seek to know and be at work, which can act as a positive force that drives humans to improve themselves. In Book One of the Nicomachean Ethics, Aristotle argues for an ultimate end, and that knowledge of the good should be influential and important to all human life. He explains that it is better to act aimed at the good of the whole, meaning society, and transcend the level of individual preservation (1094b5 1094b10). Aquinas created a hierarchy of rules to follow when acting in the name of the good. There is a specific order of the precepts of natural law. The lowest inclination affects all substances and is the desire to preserve the self. Next, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Dealing with sexual assault cases differently based on the victim s state and story is unfair to the survivor and will only further hurt someone who has already suffered through a traumatic ordeal since it causes them feel as though they are not being listened to or heard. In addition to investigations that are often biased and poorly conducted, the number of convictions made in sexual assault cases is astonishingly small. A few years ago, The Chicago Tribune published the results of a study involving 171 campus sex complaints at six Midwestern universities. Twelve of the accused perpetrators were arrested, and only four were convicted (Hedelman and Brown). Due to the low conviction rates, many women feel as though their allegations of having been sexually assaulted are not being taken seriously or even acknowledged (Hedelman and Brown). Unfortunately, sexual assault is a popular crime on college campuses, but when victims bring their stories forward to law enforcers, they are not taken seriously and severe punishments are rarely given to assaulters, which further harms people who have already been wrongly treated. He begins by mentioning that people in America, rich or poor, do not seem to talk about class or class differences. He says that is why classes divide. He mentions myths most Americans believe that this country is classless, and full of equal opportunity, and replaces them with realities. These realities are that class inequality is not pretty bad but getting worse. Emphasized by profiles of citizens of various classes. He concludes that the main problems are capitalism, racism, and androcentric, and the solution is redistribution of wealth. He grew up with his family as middle class citizens with an exceptional property until he was 15 where Wycherleys parents figured it would be that his son would get his education outside of their home town and therefore sent him off to France where he would grow up to become one of the most recognisable comedic writers of the late 17th century. Social matters and characters with controversial personalities, or even personalities which reflected the audience were often portrayed throughout most of his scripts using various techniques, one of these techniques being his use of one liners. One liners can be described as a witty remarks which are abrupt and snappy to enhance the amusement of the play. Consequently, Wycherleys constant use of these short jokes brought popularity back to the use of them and has been adapted to modern theatre which can be seen in comedy movies or sitcom television shows. The one liners used in both The Country Wife and The Plain Dealer are what brought both performances such high levels of success. I disagree with the writer, I don t think that it s going to affect the community s soul and spirit nor its going to affect the national treasure of the place. The cost for this is while advertising the brand is that you must pay the other party a certain amount in exchange for the branding. This has both side advantage, Firstly the public space is getting paid for adverting the brand. And earning in a legal manner which helps others is not a negative thing. • 42. Father And Father In Alice Munro s Boys And Girls Father For a child, a father means the world to them. And with changing social norms, fathers are much closer to their children than ever before. The old stereotype of a cold emotionless labourer has been replaced by the soft caring figure who takes an interest in his kids lives. Alice Munro, Wendy Wasserstein, and Theodore Roethke all explore this new relationship through various mediums. Boys and Girls (Munro) is a short story about a young girl strongly influenced by her father trying to find her place in the world. Tender Offer (Wasserstein) is a play detailing the difficulties of communication between a father and daughter in modern times. Lastly, My Papa s Waltz (Roethke) is a light hearted poem illustrating a joyful night shared by a father and his child. Among all three works, the children can be seen looking up to their fathers hoping in turn to be recognized by them. This common theme can be traced among the different works of art thanks to plot, conflict and imagery. In Alice Munro s Boys and Girls , the author employs both plot and conflict to bring forth the strong yet one sided relationship. Throughout the short story, the main character, Margaret, avoids at all costs the indoor chores her mother is tasked with, preferring to work on the farm with her father, work done out of doors, and in my father s service, was ritualistically important. Poor countries also suffering from terrible diseases, crime, and corruption on all fronts, including government; something that these rich and powerful countries know not much about. However, when the question comes up, Do these rich nations owe poor nations? The answer should and always be no. Rich countries are not responsible for the huge amounts of debts that these developing countries are in, they are not responsible for the misuse of grants and loans giving to these developing countries, and they are certainly not responsible for all of the corruptions in government and commerce that take place in most of these developing countries. With that being said, these rich countries do not owe these poor developing countries anything, but should aid in their development. With the gap widening between rich and poor nations, this cycle will continue until the gap is too wide to be fixed. The Texas Health And Human Services Commission Overview The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is required by federal law to ensure federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) are reimbursed no less than their Prospective Payment System (PPS) rate for services provided in the Medicaid and CHIP programs (42 U.S.C. 1396a). Prior to September 2011, Medicaid Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) paid FQHCs a fee for service rate and HHSC reimbursed FQHCs the difference between the rate paid by the MCO and the FQHC PPS rate in quarterly wraparound payments. Pursuant to budget riders starting in the 2012 2013 General Appropriations Act, and continuing through the current appropriations bill, HHSC Rider 62 (HB1, 84nd Regular Session, 2015), MCOs were required to pay the full PPS rates to FQHCs up front. The stated intent of Rider 62 was to reduce HHSC administrative costs. The administrative cost was associated with the Texas Medicaid and Healthcare Partnership (TMHP), an HHSC contractor, calculating and disbursing the wrap payment to each FQHC. By moving responsibility for the wrap payment to the MCO, the administrative cost to HHSC was eliminated. Rider 62 did not contemplate a reduction in appropriate FQHC utilization. The FQHC PPS encounter rate includes the cost for all services FQHCs provide to Medicaid and CHIP patients, including medical, dental, behavioral health and pharmacy. HHSC is required to set MCO premium rates to sufficiently cover the costs of the FQHC reimbursement rate; that is done ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Reliability can be examined externally, Inter rater and Test Retest, as well as internally; which is seen in internal consistency reliability methods. It s best to establish inter rater reliability outside of the context of the study s measure. If the reliability is incorporated in the measure and is extremely low, this can cause serious issues for the researchers going forward. It is highly recommended that a pilot study be done to establish the inter rater reliability. It is also a good idea to periodically assess the inter rater reliability if the study will be conducted for an extensive amount of time. There is a difference in how to assess categorical versus continuous measures inter rater reliability. If the measure is a compilation of categories, then the researchers could have the raters mark each category that is applicable to the observations. From those selections, the research team should calculate the percentage of agreement among the raters. However, the research team could also calculate Cohen s Kappa, for a more stable percentage. Cohen s Kappa Cohen s Kappa states: where Pr(a) is the observed agreement among raters, and Pr(e) is the conjectural likelihood of chance agreement, using the observed data to calculate the probabilities of the raters hypothetically choosing each category.
