Chuck, an African American male, was brought to my funeral home after an autopsy had been
completed on him. Chuck passed away in a car accident after his car crossed the centerline, was hit by
another car and then upon impact burned. Amazingly, Chuck got out of the car but later died on the
side of the road before help had arrived. Chuck s ability to get out the car and dying on the side of the
road led to this being an autopsy case. While preparing Chuck for his services, I noticed that he has
light discolorations on his hands and face due to his car catching on fire. This goes to show that he
suffered first degree burns. First degree burns or hyperemia is any injury caused by heat, which
produces redness of the skin. This type of burn does not present any unusual difficulty when

Since 1985 there has been a tremendous increase in research regarding intrapersonal forgiveness, but
very little regarding self forgiveness. The purpose of this article was to bring attention to the topic of
self forgiveness within this growing body of research. The definitions of self forgiveness from many

One concept I found very interesting was the distinction between true self forgiveness and pseudo self

Considering the one of the main themes is about the end of humanity both physically and
psychologically, the narrative is wrought with brutality, hardships, and terror. For the entire duration
of the novel and movie, the father has accepted the idea that he would kill the son to save him from
capture if they were captured by cannibal men. In one portion of the novel, the protagonist come
across a house with a basement room filled with naked people, male and female, all trying to hide,
shielding their faces with their hands (110). They run out off the house seeing that there is a group of
cannibals approaching. In the film, the father and son are trapped in the house with the cannibals who
are unaware of their presence. Fearing that they would be captured and tortured to death, the father
ends up pressing the gun in the son s head and cocking it when he is almost certain that they would be
found. This is where the movie shows cinema s advantage over print. Possibly the bleakest scene in
the movie is when this occurs because the raw emotion the father and son exhibit on screen when they
are coming to terms with the worse possible outcome is both gut wrenching and unmatched by
McCarthy s writing. The novel, however, is overall much more grim and depressing due to scenes that
