Marketing Research Project Proposal
Marketing Research Project Proposal I proposed to do my final course project on market research on
service quality at Starbucks Coffee restaurants.
Background on Company Beginning in 1971 with only one shop in Settle s historic Pike Place Market
for coffee and tea, Starbucks has managed to become one of the most successful companies in the
world. It has become number one in the coffee industry. As of June 2012 Starbucks owns 19,763
coffee shops in 59 countries which includes 12,848 in the United States, 1,264 in Canada, 973 in
Japan, 778 in Great Britain, 621 in China, 441 in South Korea, 350 in Mexico and 269 in the
Philippines. Offering to its consumers different coffees with unique flavors, tea and beverages,
including food ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order to make statistical research by using questionnaires, the formal standardized questionnaires
type must be followed. Meeting the research objectives is the aim of a successful survey. For the
purpose of examining the service quality in Starbucks store in the area of Northwest Indiana, 10
different closed ended questions will be used. By doing this the respondents are going to have the
option of choosing from the given alternatives. By giving this kind of questionnaire the information
that is going to be gathered is easier to analyze, bearing in mind that specific answers are needed for
statistical research. The questions that are included are from various types such as: Dichotomous
questions (influencing audience to reply with specific answers like Yes/No, True/False or
Agree/Disagree responses). Example of questionnaire as follows: 1. Age Group amp; Occupation (
This will be the only open ended question on the survey) 2. How often do you visit Starbucks? ( Here
I would ask 1 2 times per week, 3 4 times per week and so on) 3. What products do you purchase? (
Multiple answers given to choose from) 4. Are you currently satisfied with the menu selections? 5.
How satisfied are you with the cleanliness of the store? 6. How satisfied are you with the staff? 7.
How convient is the locations of the Starbucks store? 8. How

Stereotypes In Jerry Spinelli s Stargirl
Jerry Spinelli s book, Stargirl, is a fiction book that tells a story of a young student named Leo. Leo
attends Mica High school along his best friend Kevin and the other Mica High students. The school is
a completely average school with cliques and social expectations. That is until Mica High is flipped
upside down when the ukulele playing new girl walks in. Stargirl steals the attention of every Mica
student as she dances down the halls, runs across football fields, and sings happy birthday to every
student every day without a care. Her oblivious attitude blinds her from seeing how the school only
cheers for her because they think she s a joke; some students claim she was placed in the school as an

whether they re losing, the opposing team made a point, or just for no reason. This backfires and the

The Discovery Of The Night
Now when the fourteenth night had come, as we were driven up and down in the Adriatic Sea, about
midnight the sailors sensed that they were drawing near some land...When it was day, they did not
recognize the land; but they observed a bay with a beach, onto which they planned to run the ship if
possible. But striking a place where two seas met, they ran the ship aground. (Acts 27: 27 44
This is Luke s account of the shipwreck that Paul experienced in the Adriatic Sea, near the Island of
Malta as he made his way by ship to Rome with two hundred seventy five other people aboard. A
fourteen night storm had beaten the ship until it was falling apart; however, before it sank, the wind
pushed it within swimming distance of the Island of Malta. Upon seeing land, the centurion told those
who could swim to jump into the water and swim to land. Then he told the others to grab a board and
float to the shore and their safety. Amazingly, they all safely escaped to land.
I doubt not that of all of us have experienced hard times in our lives. Life can be perplexing, especially
when it appears that we have reached the end of our rope and there is no visible way out of the
situation. Tragically, some people have given up all hope and acted foolishly.
Our difficulties are often self imposed; however, problems can be brought upon us by the actions of
other people. Nonetheless, regardless of how the difficulty came about, one problem can be just as
frightening as the other.

Nonviolent Direct Action Examples
In recent years, there has been a dramatic increase in the number of people who have been following
nonviolent direct action. Nonviolent direct action is, according to Vellacott, refraining from violence
on grounds of principle. This paper will briefly describe examples of nonviolent direct actions which
was carried out by Gandhi, King, and the campaign for women s suffrage in Britain. It will also
address their purpose or goal of the nonviolent action. Additionally, it will explain the methods and
strategies which was used to accomplish the goals and then talk discuss a key element of the

They also used the press to develop a sense of understanding and sympathy from journalists and
editors. The campaign for women s suffrage in Britain movement key philosophy is that campaigners
initially wanted women to vote on the same terms as it was granted to men. They wanted equality. As
Vellacott stated, Undoubtedly, individual suffragettes found liberation from the stifling conventions of
their time in defying the canons of respectability, taking risks, and exhibiting extraordinary physical
courage. In closing, the thing that makes suffragists and suffragettes different was the methods they
used to achieve their goal. The suffragists were using peaceful methods such as petitions, meetings,
and protests, while the suffragettes chose a more violent approach since they thought that the methods
of the suffragists were failing. When the government fail to respond to respond to their demands, they
escalated their attempts to gain attention by damage to property, throwing stones through store

Urban America Research Paper
An article by Wilcox and Wolfinger, Then comes marriage? Religion, race, and marriage in urban
America examine the role that religious participation and the norms and behaviors it promotes plays in
encouraging marriage among new parents in Urban America. This is the first study to offer a
quantitative analysis of the association between religion and marriage among urban mothers.
According to a data from the Fragile Families and Child Wellbeing Study, Urban mothers who have no
marital birth are significantly more likely to marry within a year of that birth if they attend church
frequently; they are still dealing with a lot of conflict in the communities that is prevent them to get

distrust in urban American among males and females, a lot of women are concern about male

Pros And Cons Of Tariffs
Pros and Cons of Tariffs
Principles of Macroeconomics
Columbia Southern University
BBA 2401
Angelo Jones
Managing the how goods and services enter or leave this country (import/export) is an important
process that allows for us to control the economic status of our nation. Sometimes imposing tariffs on
the goods imported balances our labor cost, resources and government supported industry. A tariff by
definition is a tax or duty to be paid on a particular class of imports or exports.
Economic policy of nations and states, tariffs are tools used to control the flow of goods, services and
resources being brought into the country. The overall purpose is to create security for the domestic
industry from the imported product. These products can sometimes be less expensive to purchase than
the goods being manufactured in the local economy. (McEachern, 2015) The government does this
either stimulate or deflate trade with other countries. (Fontinelle, 2012)
There are quite a few forms of tariffs that the government may apply based on the condition of the
country s economic welfare. The pros and cons of these forms of tariffs will be reviewed. Discussion
on how these tariffs positively or negatively affects the economic stance of the country will be
displayed. Tariffs such as the ad valorem, the taxing a percentage of the value of an item and the
specific tariff or tax which is a set amount based on weight or sum of items. (McEachern, 2015)

Evidence Based Intervention Case Study
Evidence Based Interventions
According to Hah et al. (2017), several studies have shown that nerve blockade of the central nervous
system (neuraxial anesthesia) or peripheral nerves (regional anesthesia) reduce the need for opioids in
the immediate postoperative phase. There are two mechanisms through which nerve blockade reduces
persistent opioid use. First, nerve blockade works by impeding the transmission of pain during the
perioperative phase and thereby stopping central sensitization and chronic neuropathic pain. Second,
nerve blocks are effective in treating postoperative pain and are good predictor of persistent opioid
use. Similarly, studies found that intravenous local anesthetic such as lidocaine reduces perioperative
opioid ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Each guideline includes, a recommendation for initial agent, dose, duration, frequency, and maximum
dose to be dispense. According to the guideline, only 1 short acting opioid can be prescribed at a time,
avoidance of opioid prescription before surgery, and reducing concurrent use of sedatives or
hypnotics. Patient must also be present during initial opioid prescription. If patient has not been seen
within the past 30 days, no refill or prescription is allowed. Soffin et al (2017) equally found clinical
assessment as the key enabler of safe opioid prescribing. Patients must be frequently evaluated to
determine the effectiveness of the medication and dose adjustment. Evidence from Soelberg et al.
(2017) study also suggest that writing prescription for shorter duration and dispensing less medication
have the potential to reduce the risk of long term opioid use. Risk assessment is crucial, and
intervention must be rendered promptly if misuse is suspected. Patients must be assessed for opioid
tolerance preoperatively. Early diagnosis of opioid tolerance mitigates the risk of acute withdrawal,
gives opportunity to optimize preoperative status, and allows surgeons to design care plan tailored
specifically to the individual need (Soffin, et al., 2017). Early identification of surgical patients with
chronic pain who are

Man Of La Mancha Play Analysis
I was excited going into see this production of Man of La Mancha. I did not really know anything
about it and since I saw it on opening night there was no time to get an ingoing expectation from my
classmates before I saw it. I knew this was a musical, and I really like musicals, but I had never heard
of this one before. One night when I was talking to my mom she said she had seen it before and said
she really liked it; she was even singing part of The Impossible Dream on the phone. I knew
beforehand that they were using the same set from Life is a Dream and I automatically recognized the
set, it was still very different, but a lot of the same things. The lighting was dim as you would expect
going into a theatre. I was shocked at how close the pit was to the audience, since this was the first
musical I had seen in the University Theatre I did not know where to expect the pit to be. It was neat
to be able to look down into the pit before and during the show. Over all the acting was pretty good.

The lights were not turned up all the way to enhance the feeling of a prison. One part that really stood
out to me was when the orchestra was playing the overture before the acting began and the lights
flashed to signify a change in the tone of the musical. It was exactly cued with the beat and executed
perfectly. It was just a tiny element of the production, but it just really stuck with me. Aside from of
that, the lights were a helpful cue to what was going on with the characters. When the Knight of
Mirrors was fighting with Don Quixote the lights got very bright to signify Don Quixote s confusion.
Then when the fight was over and Cervantes was lying in the chair the lights got dimmer and almost a
blue shade to show the sickness of Cervantes. Overall, I felt that the lights made an enormous impact
on the overall view of this show and helped to add effects in a positive

Divine Fate In Oedipus The King
Throughout history philosophers and common men have wondered where they fit in the world. Ideas
of divine guidance and self made men are prevalent in many societies dating back to pre biblical
times. These ideas are explored in Sophocles Oedipus The King as Oedipus runs from his destiny only
to come full circle to the gods plans for him. The symbolic and literal struggle of Oedipus fate puts
into perspective the limits of free will and how much is pre determined.
Working through the text, it is first clear that the gods are rerouting Oedipus to meet the truth. The
curse Apollo places on Thebes initiates the search for Laios murderer, opening the gate for Oedipus to
discover the truth. Interestingly enough, the curse is not placed until years after the murder took place,
which makes it seem as if the gods wished for Oedipus to think he had escaped his fate only to be
shown the fragility of his perceived free will. Not only does Oedipus take interest in solving the crime,
but note the irony in his words even if god had not forced the issue, (Line 307) when the reader knows
full well this is the gods doing all along. He goes on to curse the man saying, He is our sickness. He
poisons us...be cursed with a life as evil as he is (Line 292 299). This is all truly pulling to read,
knowing as the reader that he condemns himself. Perhaps Oedipus s false illusion of being in control
is reflective of the idea that in our own lives. We have no control over how what we say about other
people may fall back on ourselves. Our very lives may fall to where we least wish them to be, to a
place we would unknowingly despise. The next indicator of Oedipus limited range of free will and
ultimate downfall is the speech of Tiresias. Although he may be blind he has insight into the will of
the gods and he knows of Oedipus darkness. He possesses the knowledge to destroy Oedipus reality,
and by extension his freedom to live his life. In an effort to spare him, Tiresias refuses to speak
knowing that the most terrible knowledge is the kind it pays no wise man to possess. (Line 383) The
key point to be made is that the idea of free will in Oedipus life is that of ignorance. The burden of the
truth of his pre destined fate is one

Internet Censorship of Child Porngraphy Essay
They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor
safety. Benjamin Franklin.
Technically speaking, internet censorship is difficult to achieve. Proponents of this measure seem to
have neglected the fact that putting in place a system of surveillance requires the establishment of
clear, unalterable rules. But often, such a task can be almost unfeasible since it is quite problematical
to define precisely the information that is supposed to be blocked. In the context of hate speech for
example, it is important to acknowledge the existence of a line between criticism, whether it is
constructive or not, and pure animosity.

When it comes to legal videos that may be inappropriate, the team instantly resorts to age restriction.
Both of these internet giants encourage free speech while supervising it and immediately removing
content that is clearly offensive to the general public. This concept of self regulation is a good
alternative to extensive Internet censorship, since the website only has its own contents to focus on,
rather than having an entire system of surveillance watching over the web, with the risk of it making
errors in the process. Most importantly, the main idea behind these guidelines is not censorship, but
moral, reasonable control.
We should not let the government interfere and impose its draconian laws. Censorship is nothing but a
violation of fundamental civil rights, starting with freedom of speech. By defying the First Law of
Amendment (reference), internet surveillance will only give the government greater power to run our
lives. Without our free will and autonomy, we are helpless, incapable of making a change. The Internet

Essay On Summer Vacation
Summer of 2017 was probably my best summer so far. I went to my dream place and somewhere else
I have heard so much about! Before this vacation, I was so excited and I thought this place was going
to be all movie stars and celebrities, but I was wrong. Over the summer I went to Los Angeles,
California and Las Vegas Nevada. Now, I am not telling you about two different trips, this was all in
one trip. On August fifth, 2017 we drove two hours to Indianapolis and got on a plane to go to
California. The flight was about four hours, three hours and fifty eight minutes to be exact. We had
first class. My dad and sister sat next to each other and my mom and I sat next to each other. Once we
landed at the airport in Los Angeles, we had to get our suitcases and our rental car. Getting our
suitcases took about forty five minutes and getting the car rental took about an hour and a half. Once
we got to our hotel, it was ten o clock p.m. their time, Twelve o clock a.m. our time. We were all
hungry because even though we had food on the plane, most of us didn t eat it. So we ordered pizza
and went to bed. The next day, we went to the Walk of Fame and saw all the movie stars names on the
stars. We also went on some tours, such as TM Z. TM Z was probably my favorite thing we did there,
it was so much fun! We also went to the Chinese Theater museum and went to go see the Hollywood
sign, from afar. We also went to this very nice restaurant, my dad enjoyed a lot. The next few days, we

Marketing Strategy Of The Tti Generic Business Strategy...
When looking at the TTI generic business strategy for their tax preparation business, the firm
originally operated and competed as a cost leader that also had a first mover advantage. When it first
opened, the company saw the advantage of offering cheaper tax services than the CPAs. To achieve
the cheaper price, the company made the conscious decision of hiring inexperienced employees, who
they could then train, instead of CPAs. This ensured that their costs would be much lower than the
average CPA firm, since CPAs are likely paid more. When it was just them in the market, they were
the only players in tax preparation that was offering a cheaper service and TTI was able to pass that

10 Communication Secrets
In 2012, Forbes Magazine revealed 10 communication secrets but I may borrow 8 in carrying out
discussions/ face to face meetings with executives:
1. Speak openly This would also require setting out a plan on the issues that need to be addressed
primarily. Perhaps by creating an agenda, it would keep the conversation on track. Building trust and
rapport would begin then as members have to be able to feel comfortable. At this point, choosing the
right meeting venue is helpful. Somewhere calm yet inviting but where ideas can be exchanged,
recognition given or loud, enthusiastic conversations can occur. I may reserve a meeting room or
utilize an office space during a less than heavy traffic flow period. I can find out which meeting rooms
or group rooms are assigned to the organization. In the College of Business at Grambling State
University, most of its departmental groups, that is, AMA, Management Club, NABA are assigned
office space in the building which have become a room for executive meetings and carrying out group
projects. It also helps the stability of the group and established recognition for the organization. Make
sure to check with the Office of Student Affairs/ Activities if any such rooms are available on another
campus.
2. Get Personal To build rapport, a dialogue and true discussion needs to take place. I cannot control
the entire meeting without letting the members get a word in. Although having a monologue may be

CORE The Graveyard Book (Neil Gaiman)
In The Graveyard Book , the author, Neil Gaiman conforms to the conventions of fantasy genre, by
making the novel have a deep and much hidden meaning, which the reader may not identify at first

guardian. This shows how Neil Gaiman s book subverts from traditional characters, because in typical
fantastical stories, supernatural characters, such as ghosts and vampires, are constantly portrayed as
having a bad or evil nature. In The Graveyard Book , Neil Gaiman most likely subverted from the
fantasy genre, to make his book original and unique, rather than to follow the conventional story line.
Another reason as to why Neil Gaiman subverted from the fantasy genre, is to show a pleasant and
friendly side to supernatural characters, which are often portrayed as evil. This is because most readers
have the common mindset, that creatures such as vampires and ghosts must be

Lais Of Equitan And Bisclavret By Marie De France
THE RESEARCH TOPIC
The topic of my research is how courtly love applied the Lais of Equitan and Bisclavret written by
Marie De France.
THE RESEARCH CONTEXT
Research Questions:
1. What are the effects of courtly love on the situation of women in the middle ages?
2. Can it be between a knight and an unmarried lady?
3. How courtly love seen by society?
4. Is courtly love sinful?
5. What are the reasons behind courtly love?
Hebert Moller states that first, the female love object is, as a rule, the wife of another man; and yet this
relationship is celebrated as the source of a higher morality, notwithstanding the prevailing religious
and social sanctions of monogamy. Modern authors have unanimously realized that the consummation
of courtly love would mean adultery. The contemporaries did not present it in that light, but rather
claimed an inherent right of the lover to his lady s attention. If marriages, for economic and political
reasons, were arranged by relatives or feudal overlords, it is a mere construction of some older
historians that, for that reason, the contemporaries permitted extra marital free love and developed a
gigantic system of bigamy in which every lady was expected to have both a husband and a paramour.

Descartes’Arguments for the Real Distinction of Mind and...
Descartes Arguments for the Real Distinction of Mind and Body
Descartes argues has three main arguments for minds and bodies being two different distinct types of
substance. These are known as arguments for substance dualism and are as follows.
* The Argument from doubt : Descartes argues that while he could pretend or think that he had no
body and therefore did not exist in any place, he could not think or pretend he had no mind, as merely
having a doubt that he had a mind proves that he does.
* The Argument from Clear and distinct understanding: Descartes argues that if two things can be

Further more the mere doubt that you exist is proof that you in fact exist as how can you doubt
something unless you are existing. I assuredly existed, since I was persuaded. But there is I know not

employing all his ingenuity in deceiving me. Doubtless, then, I exist, since I am deceived; and, let him
deceive me as he may, he can never bring it about that I am nothing, so long as I shall be conscious
that I am something. So that it must, in fine, be maintained, all things being maturely and carefully

Robot Design Flaws
I would change the change both our programming and our overall robot design. The programming was
not precise or consistent enough and the driving section of the robot could easily get caught on the
wall in the starting box.
Our programming had several major flaws that we did not have time to fix; among these flaws was the
inconsistency of switching between steering blocks and tank moving blocks. Some of the movement
blocks would go for a certain number of seconds at a rather strong power, which resulted in the robot
taking a slightly different path every time it ran through the code. We did not consider the level of
precision of the motors. Because of this, we coded our robot to move quickly, resulting in it always

Workplace Disputes And The Workplace Dispute
Human resources management relies upon employees and employers working concurrently. However
in many cases this is hard to create, this is a factor leading to workplace disputes. Workplace disputes
are conflict which occurs within the workplace. They can be a result of relationships or clashes in
opinions on certain tasks. Indicators are used to measure the results of workplace disputes, these
indicate the factors creating disputes. They include: corporate culture how well a workforce treats one

These companies have been affected by workplace disputes and have been forced to resolve these

(Australia Post promotes the strategies of grievance procedures, negotiation, mediation and

workplace dispute was seen between Australia Post and many of their licensees within the Licensed

independent small business owners operate under the entity of Australia Post. The LPO group had
been dissatisfied with the neglection of increase in commission payments over many years from

The Keirsey Temperament Sorter II
The Keirsey Temperament Sorter II is an instrument to determine an individual s personality traits.
Each of us has different personalities. Those personalities that we acquired through our parents,
guardians or that we learned ourselves. To understand another individual, we have to understand
ourselves first. The Keirsey Temperament Sorter II provides a better understanding for each
temperament or characteristic of a person and how an individual interacts with other personality types.
Having this tool can help an individual to make a better choice in life, especially in a workplace where
there are so many types of diverse groups.
Personality Type Each of us has different personalities. Beginning as an infant, all of us have no idea
who or what kind an individual we are. All of us see the world through the eyes of our very own
parents, guardians or other adults who tried to show and teach us what the world is all about. Those
individuals show us their ideas of what truly are right and wrong, or what is the good and bad.
However, as we grow, our peers have much influence over how we define ourselves. There could be
times; an individual would desire to fit in and belong to be like others. Likewise, in the society we
belong to, each of us has tried to learn and take in all of our experiences, and relationships with other
people. For this reason, Keirsey Temperament Sorter II (KTS II) is the best tool to use to describe an
individual s personality.

There are some books who are against America that don t hesitate to compare it to evil countries like

Advantages And Disadvantage Of Passive Targets In...
Passive tags
Today, the passive tags are the simplest form of tags without any power source such as a battery, in
order to start communication with the reader. The passive tag gets its power from the radio waves
transmitted by the reader. The tag contains minimal information such as the unique tag ID and it can
be read at a range of ten to twenty feet away from the reader. Passive tags are cheaper to manufacture
and are mostly used in disposable items or they can also be used in asset management.
Radio frequency bands, the memory used inside the tag, antenna design etc. act as a factor to the cost
of passive tags. Passive tags operate at various frequencies ranging from low, high, ultra high to
microwave frequencies. The manufacturing of passive tags ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

These tags are more expensive than passive tags the reason being the internal hardware and the range
that they cover. The cost of the tags is based on the storage type, battery and the area that the tag can
cover.
Semi passive tags
Semi passive tags are a combination of active and passive tags. Even though they do not initiate the
communication with the reader, they contain batteries to respond back to the reader with its own
power. Such type of tags are useful in environments where continuous monitoring is required over
large areas.
Sometimes in order to save the battery life of the tag, the tags remain in the passive state and wait for
an activation signal from the reader. Once the signal is received, it uses its own battery power to
transmit the signals. Semi passive tags can also be connected to the sensors to store sensor
information.
To summarize passive tags are the most used tags if we can trade off with its major disadvantage: it
cannot cover longer ranges as in the case of active and semi passive

What Is The Relationship Between Gilgamesh And Enkidu
The Epic of Gilgamesh
The Epic of Gilgamesh is an Epic poem coined from the ancient Mesopotamia, and it is regarded as
one of the earliest surviving literary pieces. This poem is closely connected to history as it tries to
explain to the audience on the origin of the people of Mesopotamia. The relationship between
Gilgamesh and Enkidu as well as the ways the two view each other forms very central aspects in this
poem.
Enkidu is depicted as half man and half beast. Gilgamesh is regarded as the central symbol of the
natural and the uncivilized world. Gilgamesh dies early, and this is taken as a punishment from God
for all the trouble he and Gilgamesh got into together. The death of Enkidu hits Gilgamesh in a great

Benefits Of Supplying Quality Customer Service
Introduction
The benefits of supplying quality customer service are well documented for creating value for the
business. Customer service leads to profitability and brand reputation (Armistead and Clark, 1992);
Quality customer service leads to higher levels of competitiveness (Chan et al. 2005); Quality
customer service reduces costs and boosts profitability (Crosby, 1980); and quality customer service
increases customer retention and improves brand image (Stamatis, 1996).
Therefore, it is obvious that a quality understanding of customer service can add substantial value to a
business. Venkatraman and Ramanujam (1986) briefly incorporate this notion with business size by
adding that size and growth are typically used as a precedent for evaluating business success.
Conversely, Lash (1989) challenges this by explaining that small and large, profitable and unprofitable
companies offer good and bad customer service. These conflicting concepts form the basis of the
investigation into, at what point does customer service strategies diverge depending on the size or
growth of the business? In approaching this question, forms of business size and growth and various
aspects of customer service need to be defined. It is common knowledge that there are many ways to
measure the size or growth rate of a business depending on the complimenting independent variables.
However, the measurement of customer service comes with more complexity. This is due to service
quality being difficult to

Analyzing Esoteric Alchemy And The Alchemist
Alchemy began in Hellenistic Egypt particularly in Alexandria. Alexandria was founded in 332 B.C,
and quickly became the heartbeat of Hellenistic cosmopolitanism. The Art itself had both exoteric and
esoteric purposes, which were centered on the transmutation of base metals into silver and gold.
Exoterically speaking it took the form of crafting matter into items of value. However, as a natural
development the material means and ends of the Art were often intermixed with the immaterial world.
Both were interdependent and intermixed with each other in various ways. Historical analyses of
exoteric and esoteric Alchemy suggest that it is impossible to fully separate the two because they are
sympathetic to each other. Simply put, whether or not the Alchemist understands esoteric immaterial
factors of the practice still have an impact. The purpose of this paper is to analyze esoteric Alchemy
and to discuss what the immaterial means and ends of the Work could have meant to the Alchemist,
and concludes that the Art was a work of crafting the soul. The approach used in this paper will first
examine Hellenistic cosmopolitanism through the idea of the supernatural, the soul, and virtue, and
then I will discuss Alchemy as understood by from and close to the Hermetic tradition.
Many Alchemists had an understanding of the natural and supernatural that parallels antique thought
as a whole. Common in the culture was a desire to understand, communicate, and develop virtue.

Oliver Sacks, the author of The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat and Other Clinical Tales, was a
notable neurologist and author who just died in 2015. This book is a collection of some of Oliver
Sacks most memorable cases and the book is divided into cases dealing with losses, excesses,
transports, and the world of the simple. The book starts with two epigraphs for a very specific
purpose. Neurology and the study of the brain in general, has according to Oliver Sacks, recently
taken a too scientific approach. Sacks argues that one must understand the whole person, his history,

Oliver Sacks has found that this approach is the only way to come to a logical diagnosis in a patient s
case.
The book is very credible because Oliver Sacks, the author, is very highly regarded and respected
throughout the medical community. His experience in the field is extensive, and that kind of expertise
is shown throughout the book, as Sacks would re diagnose patients who were previously diagnosed
something wrong.
The point of view is unexpected. Oliver Sacks was not an outside observer to the world of mental
conditions, not because of his working with patients on a daily basis, but because he actually had a
condition. Oliver Sacks condition was a less serious version of the condition that the man who
mistook his wife for a hat had. Oliver Sacks had a mild form of visual agnosia, which means that one
can see, but has trouble interpreting what one is seeing. The man who mistook his wife for a hat could
see a glove as a continuous surface infolded on itself. It has five outpouchings. When Sacks told him
that it was a glove, he was very surprised, but could understand how. Oliver Sacks had trouble
distinguishing faces because of this agnosia of vision, which made him very shy.
The accuracy of the science in this book, as with any current book on the brain and mind, is bound to

others, showed definitive proof that the Messiah, the Son of God, had come as promised.
The First Miracle John 2:1 11
The first of the seven miracles that John recounts is the turning of water into wine. John notes that this
miracle marks the beginning of Jesus signs to His disciples and the world. Jesus and his mother are

Jesus was sitting on top of a mountain with His disciples when he saw a large number of followers
approaching them. He asked Philip about where they would be able to purchase food for all those

disciples, Andrew, told him that they only had five loaves of bread and two fish, He gave thanks for
the food and told the disciples to eat. Once they were done, He told the disciples to gather up what
was left so that none of the food would be lost. When they had gathered up all of the food they had

Mrs Bennet Satire
Bakhtin believes the reason behind the satire especially in the case of Mrs. Bennet is because,
Stupidity in the novel is always polemical: it interacts dialogically with an intelligence... (Bakhtin

towards her oldest daughters. The reasoning behind this is for people to question Mrs. Bennet s
behavior but also to exaggerate how a woman is supposed to behave. Additionally, during this time,
there were some women who on purpose would act anxious similarly to Mrs. Bennet but not as
exaggerated. The idea behind acting anxious goes back to the concept that it was a patriarchal society,

Bennet s overexaggerated behavior to show how the patriarchal society governed over the life of
women. In this case, Mrs. Bennet s tried to get her daughters to get married to Mr. Collin simply, so

Though since Mrs. Bennet s daughter Jane is almost engaged to Mr. Bingley the only other option for
Mr. Collin to marry would be Elizabeth since her other siblings are much too young to marry. Ergo,
Mrs. Bennet tries to influence his decision by mentioning that she is easy going and fairly pretty but is

they were considered fragile and simply stayed at home worrying about house affairs. These notions in

Implementing A Traditional 401 ( K ) Plan
Recommended Plan
We recommend that SmartKidz initiate a traditional 401(k) plan. A traditional 401(k) plan is a defined
contribution plan for for profit organizations. In this plan, employees are allowed to contribute a
percentage of their salary before taxes up to a maximum contribution, which is $18,000 as of 2015
(IRS). In addition, employers may choose to add to each employee s 401(k) plan through matching
each individual contribution or providing a one time lump sum. Each employee has a tax deferred
account where he or she is able to choose where to allocate his or her contributions. For example,
mutual funds and target funds are common investment options.

In addition, there is more portability for retirement savings; 401(k)s can be rolled over into IRAs if
employees change companies. This is a significant benefit for millennials who are expected to remain
with companies for 3 5 years before switching. Further, as for retirement plans similar to a Roth or
Safe Harbor, a traditional 401(k) is less expensive and easier to manage. However, these types of plans
can be added on later, if SmartKidz would desire.
Suggested Provisions
In a preliminary outline of the plan, we have several key suggestions. First, SmartKidz should allow
both full time and part time employees to contribute to a 401(k) plan. Although part time employees
may result in higher administrative costs as a result of the high turnover associated with this category
of workers, it is very important for these employees to be able to contribute to retirement plans. All of
SmartKidz part time employees are between the ages of 25 and 65; they are not high school students
trying to earn a paycheck. Your part time employees are part time for a reason pregnancy, disability,
and other household duties so to accomplish your goal of showing respect and dignity, you should
allow them to put money towards their future. In addition, allowing every employee to contribute
would reduce the possible tension between full time and part time employees and increase the overall
morale. Additionally, it could even reduce the turnover in part time

that the ADI is adequately capitalised. These are level 1 comprising ADI itself or the ELE, level 2
consolidated banking group and level 3 the conglomerate group4. Furthermore, consistent with Basel
Capital Accord, the approach used by APRA for assessing an ADI s capital adequacy focuses on three
main elements. The definition of capital base and eligible components are set out in APS 111 capital
adequacy. A bank s risk weighted exposures are determined in accordance with requirements and
procedures in APS 112 credit risk and APS 113 market risk5.
Banks are required, unless APRA set higher levels, to maintain at level 1 and 2 as a minimum risk
weighted capital ratio of 4 % in Tier 1 and 8% for total capital at all times. APRA assess and takes into
account the general risks and other circumstances relevant for the individual ADI. A capital buffer
could be added by ADI if the ADI is judged as being vulnerable more than normal volatility in its
revenues and risks. In considering the required capital ratio, APRA considers all material risks, both
on and off balance sheet. Credit risks are placed into four

The Discovery Of The Night Now when the fourteenth night had come, as we were driven up and down in the Adriatic Sea, about midnight the sailors sensed that they were drawing near some land...When it was day, they did not recognize the land; but they observed a bay with a beach, onto which they planned to run the ship if possible. But striking a place where two seas met, they ran the ship aground. Amazingly, they all safely escaped to land. I doubt not that of all of us have experienced hard times in our lives. Pros And Cons Of Tariffs Pros and Cons of Tariffs Principles of Macroeconomics Columbia Southern University BBA 2401 Angelo Jones Managing the how goods and services enter or leave this country (import/export) is an important process that allows for us to control the economic status of our nation. Sometimes imposing tariffs on the goods imported balances our labor cost, resources and government supported industry. A tariff by definition is a tax or duty to be paid on a particular class of imports or exports. Economic policy of nations and states, tariffs are tools used to control the flow of goods, services and resources being brought into the country. The overall purpose is to create security for the domestic industry from the imported product. These products can sometimes be less expensive to purchase than the goods being manufactured in the local economy. (McEachern, 2015) The government does this either stimulate or deflate trade with other countries. (Fontinelle, 2012) There are quite a few forms of tariffs that the government may apply based on the condition of the country s economic welfare. The pros and cons of these forms of tariffs will be reviewed. Discussion on how these tariffs positively or negatively affects the economic stance of the country will be displayed. (2017), several studies have shown that nerve blockade of the central nervous system (neuraxial anesthesia) or peripheral nerves (regional anesthesia) reduce the need for opioids in the immediate postoperative phase. There are two mechanisms through which nerve blockade reduces persistent opioid use. First, nerve blockade works by impeding the transmission of pain during the perioperative phase and thereby stopping central sensitization and chronic neuropathic pain. Second, nerve blocks are effective in treating postoperative pain and are good predictor of persistent opioid use. Patient must also be present during initial opioid prescription. If patient has not been seen within the past 30 days, no refill or prescription is allowed. Soffin et al (2017) equally found clinical assessment as the key enabler of safe opioid prescribing. Patients must be frequently evaluated to determine the effectiveness of the medication and dose adjustment. Evidence from Soelberg et al. Risk assessment is crucial, and intervention must be rendered promptly if misuse is suspected. Patients must be assessed for opioid tolerance preoperatively. I did not really know anything about it and since I saw it on opening night there was no time to get an ingoing expectation from my classmates before I saw it. I knew this was a musical, and I really like musicals, but I had never heard of this one before. • 11. Divine Fate In Oedipus The King Throughout history philosophers and common men have wondered where they fit in the world. Ideas of divine guidance and self made men are prevalent in many societies dating back to pre biblical times. These ideas are explored in Sophocles Oedipus The King as Oedipus runs from his destiny only to come full circle to the gods plans for him. The symbolic and literal struggle of Oedipus fate puts into perspective the limits of free will and how much is pre determined. Working through the text, it is first clear that the gods are rerouting Oedipus to meet the truth. The curse Apollo places on Thebes initiates the search for Laios murderer, opening the gate for Oedipus to discover the truth. Interestingly enough, the curse is not placed until years after the murder took place, which makes it seem as if the gods wished for Oedipus to think he had escaped his fate only to be shown the fragility of his perceived free will. Not only does Oedipus take interest in solving the crime, but note the irony in his words even if god had not forced the issue, (Line 307) when the reader knows full well this is the gods doing all along. He goes on to curse the man saying, He is our sickness. He poisons us...be cursed with a life as evil as he is (Line 292 299). This is all truly pulling to read, knowing as the reader that he condemns himself. Perhaps Oedipus s false illusion of being in control is reflective of the idea that in our own lives. We have no control over how what we say about other people may fall back on ourselves. Our very lives may fall to where we least wish them to be, to a place we would unknowingly despise. The next indicator of Oedipus limited range of free will and ultimate downfall is the speech of Tiresias. Although he may be blind he has insight into the will of the gods and he knows of Oedipus darkness. He possesses the knowledge to destroy Oedipus reality, and by extension his freedom to live his life. In an effort to spare him, Tiresias refuses to speak knowing that the most terrible knowledge is the kind it pays no wise man to possess. (Line 383) The key point to be made is that the idea of free will in Oedipus life is that of ignorance. The burden of the truth of his pre destined fate is one ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Technically speaking, internet censorship is difficult to achieve. Proponents of this measure seem to have neglected the fact that putting in place a system of surveillance requires the establishment of clear, unalterable rules. But often, such a task can be almost unfeasible since it is quite problematical to define precisely the information that is supposed to be blocked. In the context of hate speech for example, it is important to acknowledge the existence of a line between criticism, whether it is constructive or not, and pure animosity. When it comes to legal videos that may be inappropriate, the team instantly resorts to age restriction. Both of these internet giants encourage free speech while supervising it and immediately removing content that is clearly offensive to the general public. This concept of self regulation is a good alternative to extensive Internet censorship, since the website only has its own contents to focus on, rather than having an entire system of surveillance watching over the web, with the risk of it making errors in the process. Most importantly, the main idea behind these guidelines is not censorship, but moral, reasonable control. We should not let the government interfere and impose its draconian laws. Censorship is nothing but a violation of fundamental civil rights, starting with freedom of speech. By defying the First Law of Amendment (reference), internet surveillance will only give the government greater power to run our lives. Without our free will and autonomy, we are helpless, incapable of making a change. The Internet is a place that promotes freedom, in all its forms. Speak openly This would also require setting out a plan on the issues that need to be addressed primarily. Perhaps by creating an agenda, it would keep the conversation on track. Building trust and rapport would begin then as members have to be able to feel comfortable. At this point, choosing the right meeting venue is helpful. Somewhere calm yet inviting but where ideas can be exchanged, recognition given or loud, enthusiastic conversations can occur. I may reserve a meeting room or utilize an office space during a less than heavy traffic flow period. I can find out which meeting rooms or group rooms are assigned to the organization. In the College of Business at Grambling State University, most of its departmental groups, that is, AMA, Management Club, NABA are assigned office space in the building which have become a room for executive meetings and carrying out group projects. It also helps the stability of the group and established recognition for the organization. Make sure to check with the Office of Student Affairs/ Activities if any such rooms are available on another campus. 2. How courtly love seen by society? 4. Is courtly love sinful? 5. What are the reasons behind courtly love? Hebert Moller states that first, the female love object is, as a rule, the wife of another man; and yet this relationship is celebrated as the source of a higher morality, notwithstanding the prevailing religious and social sanctions of monogamy. Modern authors have unanimously realized that the consummation of courtly love would mean adultery. The contemporaries did not present it in that light, but rather claimed an inherent right of the lover to his lady s attention. If marriages, for economic and political reasons, were arranged by relatives or feudal overlords, it is a mere construction of some older historians that, for that reason, the contemporaries permitted extra marital free love and developed a gigantic system of bigamy in which every lady was expected to have both a husband and a paramour. Doubtless, then, I exist, since I am deceived; and, let him deceive me as he may, he can never bring it about that I am nothing, so long as I shall be conscious that I am something. Customer service leads to profitability and brand reputation (Armistead and Clark, 1992); Quality customer service leads to higher levels of competitiveness (Chan et al. 2005); Quality customer service reduces costs and boosts profitability (Crosby, 1980); and quality customer service increases customer retention and improves brand image (Stamatis, 1996). Therefore, it is obvious that a quality understanding of customer service can add substantial value to a business. Venkatraman and Ramanujam (1986) briefly incorporate this notion with business size by adding that size and growth are typically used as a precedent for evaluating business success. Conversely, Lash (1989) challenges this by explaining that small and large, profitable and unprofitable companies offer good and bad customer service. Alexandria was founded in 332 B.C, and quickly became the heartbeat of Hellenistic cosmopolitanism. The Art itself had both exoteric and esoteric purposes, which were centered on the transmutation of base metals into silver and gold. Exoterically speaking it took the form of crafting matter into items of value. However, as a natural development the material means and ends of the Art were often intermixed with the immaterial world. Both were interdependent and intermixed with each other in various ways. Historical analyses of exoteric and esoteric Alchemy suggest that it is impossible to fully separate the two because they are sympathetic to each other. Simply put, whether or not the Alchemist understands esoteric immaterial factors of the practice still have an impact. The purpose of this paper is to analyze esoteric Alchemy and to discuss what the immaterial means and ends of the Work could have meant to the Alchemist, and concludes that the Art was a work of crafting the soul. The approach used in this paper will first examine Hellenistic cosmopolitanism through the idea of the supernatural, the soul, and virtue, and then I will discuss Alchemy as understood by from and close to the Hermetic tradition. The reasoning behind this is for people to question Mrs. Bennet s behavior but also to exaggerate how a woman is supposed to behave. Additionally, during this time, there were some women who on purpose would act anxious similarly to Mrs. Bennet but not as exaggerated. The idea behind acting anxious goes back to the concept that it was a patriarchal society, so women were second class citizens and were fragile creatures. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Bennet s overexaggerated behavior to show how the patriarchal society governed over the life of women. In this case, Mrs. Bennet s tried to get her daughters to get married to Mr. Collin simply, so the inheritance would at least go one of her kids instead of women Mr. Collin decides to marry. Though since Mrs. Bennet s daughter Jane is almost engaged to Mr. Bingley the only other option for Mr. Collin to marry would be Elizabeth since her other siblings are much too young to marry. Ergo, Mrs. Bennet tries to influence his decision by mentioning that she is easy going and fairly pretty but is later on outraged when Charlotte will be the one who marries him since Elizabeth rejects him. In the book, she mentions, I should be forced to make way for her and live to see her take my place in it! (Austen 130). By her comment it shows how frustrated Mrs. Bennet was knowing that Charlotte Lucas, Elizabeth s friend, will be the one who inherit the land. Though it also indirectly portrays how Mrs. Bennet was also frustrated with society since as already mentioned women had no rights since they were considered fragile and simply stayed at home worrying about house affairs. These notions in mind led for women during this time to not able to own their property and limited their rights to simple household ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. Implementing A Traditional 401 ( K ) Plan Recommended Plan We recommend that SmartKidz initiate a traditional 401(k) plan. A traditional 401(k) plan is a defined contribution plan for for profit organizations. In this plan, employees are allowed to contribute a percentage of their salary before taxes up to a maximum contribution, which is $18,000 as of 2015 (IRS). In addition, employers may choose to add to each employee s 401(k) plan through matching each individual contribution or providing a one time lump sum. Each employee has a tax deferred account where he or she is able to choose where to allocate his or her contributions. For example, mutual funds and target funds are common investment options. Overall, a retirement plan, such as a traditional 401(k), is the key to a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In addition, there is more portability for retirement savings; 401(k)s can be rolled over into IRAs if employees change companies. This is a significant benefit for millennials who are expected to remain with companies for 3 5 years before switching. Further, as for retirement plans similar to a Roth or Safe Harbor, a traditional 401(k) is less expensive and easier to manage. However, these types of plans can be added on later, if SmartKidz would desire. Suggested Provisions In a preliminary outline of the plan, we have several key suggestions. First, SmartKidz should allow both full time and part time employees to contribute to a 401(k) plan. Although part time employees may result in higher administrative costs as a result of the high turnover associated with this category of workers, it is very important for these employees to be able to contribute to retirement plans. All of SmartKidz part time employees are between the ages of 25 and 65; they are not high school students trying to earn a paycheck. Your part time employees are part time for a reason pregnancy, disability, and other household duties so to accomplish your goal of showing respect and dignity, you should allow them to put money towards their future. In addition, allowing every employee to contribute would reduce the possible tension between full time and part time employees and increase the overall morale. Additionally, it could even reduce the turnover in part time ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the amended Banking Act 1959(Cth), responsibility for the conduct of prudential supervision and depositor protection moves from the Reserve Bank to APRA. Its intention is to provide for a more consistent, competitively neutral and efficient approach to the regulation of financial institutions, while enhancing overall depositor protection and financial system stability 1. APS 110 sets out detailed capital requirements which apply on a stand alone as well as consolidated group basic except foreign ADIs. APRA appraises the ADI s financial strength at three levels to ensure that the ADI is adequately capitalised. These are level 1 comprising ADI itself or the ELE, level 2 consolidated banking group and level 3 the conglomerate group4. Furthermore, consistent with Basel Capital Accord, the approach used by APRA for assessing an ADI s capital adequacy focuses on three main elements. The definition of capital base and eligible components are set out in APS 111 capital adequacy. A bank s risk weighted exposures are determined in accordance with requirements and procedures in APS 112 credit risk and APS 113 market risk5. Banks are required, unless APRA set higher levels, to maintain at level 1 and 2 as a minimum risk weighted capital ratio of 4 % in Tier 1 and 8% for total capital at all times. APRA assess and takes into account the general risks and other circumstances relevant for the individual ADI. A capital buffer could be added by ADI if the ADI is judged as being vulnerable more than normal volatility in its revenues and risks. In considering the required capital ratio, APRA considers all material risks, both on and off balance sheet. Credit risks are placed into four ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
