This document discusses the theme of jealousy through analyzing Shakespeare's play Othello. It summarizes that jealousy utterly corrupts the lives of Iago and Othello in the play, as Iago's jealousy causes him to plot Othello's downfall by arousing Othello's sexual jealousy towards his wife Desdemona. Iago manipulates Othello into believing that Desdemona has been unfaithful by planting seeds of doubt in Othello's mind and getting him to question the sincerity and nature of Desdemona's love, which ultimately destroys Othello and leads him to kill Desdemona in a fit of jealous rage.
